Re: custom Fuel tank work?

I think 20 is the reasonable max for the stock location. The way it's mounted is limited.

Do a search on custom fuel cells, here on the Guru. I ran into a company a few years back that makes custom cells for anything, really.

If it was me, I would consider moving the cell inside the hatch, so as to place it farther inboard, but it would still be really high.

Another thought would be to have something custom made to fit where the spare does. That could be done, I think... and with a racing cell, it would be safe from impact damage.

Moving the battery to the back is something I want to do, too... leaves me room up front for a sump or what not down the road. I have seen installs where the battery is under the car, in the area of the spare. This only works with an optima... lead acid would leak laying sideways.

I will have to dig through papers to find the ppl making the fuel cells. I am trying to remember where I saw them, I think it was Sebring 3-4 years ago.

IIRC, they were based in like Wisconsin or Minnesota.

But there are tons of cell mfgs out there who will make anything you want.
