I am not done, yet... but...

There is a heater line restrictor that feeds the heater core and controls flow.

This little plastic cylinder doesn't last forever... mine lasted 24 years and 214k miles. Mine had, apparently, been weeping for sometime... became a full on leak last week. It only takes 10 minutes to swap.

I will post a pic of what my dead one looks like, but in short, the nipples on the in/out flows were all but gone.

A new one is about $20, shipped, from RockAuto.com.

Many thanks.......looking forward to the photo, and the part # from RockAuto.

Any thoughts as to what causes the deterioration..... time and/or usage
of heater?

EDIT: Is this the part: ACDELCO 155423 {#10157988} GM Original Equipment Info Water Flow Control Valve; EXC HOSE ?

Any reason not to use this part.....$8.00 vs. $16.00? Just a piece of plastic (?)
