Equipment help Headunit I got will not work

Subject: Equipment help Headunit I got will not work
by -=Jeff=- on 2011/3/31 14:02:56

Well I got my system installed and turned it on the other night. The Eclipse CD8053 I have is picking up noise from somewhere. Not sure where, but when I install my Nak there is no noise. Ironically the Nak CD player is working fine now too.

So instead of fighting the clean the signal on the CD8053 i am going to reinstall the Nak only problem is the Nak does not have a built in 3-way crossover like the Eclipse.

here is the equipment I have to work with currently and my plan if I use what I have.

Here is my plan using the limited pieces I have. tell me if this makes sense:

Coustic XM3
Front HP 32-400 or HP 640-8000 12dB slope
Rear HP 32-400 12dB
Sub LP 32-400 18dB

Amps (Arc KS 300.4):
Front: HP or LP 55-550 12dB
Rear HP or LP 55-550 or 550-5500 12dB

Amp 1 has tweets and 4s Amp 2 has 6.5 and Eu700s

My plan:
XM3 front (HP range of 3000Hz ) to Amp 1 front Tweeters
XM3 rear HP somewhere around 300Hz to Amp 1 rear (LP range of 3000Hz ) to 4s

XM3 Sub LP ~300Hz to Amp2 HP 100Hz to 6.5s
Amp 2 LP 100Hz to EU700s (no XM3)

That should get me all the right frequencies, only thing bothersome is the 18db cutoff on the midbass, but I think it will be fine

Another friend suggested I get the MiniDSP http://www.minidsp.com I would get the 2x4 (I would need 2) plus a plugin and shipping.. close to $300 for all I think

Looking for other thoughts and suggestions
