That's unfortunate.
Even if he saw the yellow flag right away, the guy in front sorta left him hanging by swerving at the last second. Not his fault, just everything was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and even the flag man is pretty far off course and not in the line of sight.
I really hate the local cautions for this reason, the race is still going, so nobody wants to lose time, they only let up if they are trying to avoid a wreck.
The yellow flag basically means, "potential death ahead, stay in the throttle"
