Atco / Englishtown style weather invaded Beech Bend Dragway in Bowling Green Saturday Nov.8th to help me set some new personal best times with my 08 A6 2.56 gear car.

The temps were in the low 50's with bright sunshine and a slight head wind. Beech Bend did a great job with track prep and traction was the best I have seen there, at least for me....

I along with 3 other Corvette buddies ran our personal best times. My 08 A6 is completely stock. I slightly increased the air pressure in the fronts to 33 lbs and reduced the rears to 28.5 lbs...

Before the 1st run I let the car set about 1.5 hours to cool off as much as possible after the 110 mile trip to the track....Engine temp was about 130 when I started the car and headed to the water box.

The runs....With the help of my son I drove around the water box and then backed into the very front edge of the dampness. I then did a very short burnout with just a slight wisp of tire smoke. I then did a test launch behind the line before I staged. I staged as shallow as possible.

I had all the nannies turned off, the trans in sport mode and did not powerbreak at all. I did not use the paddles.....At the green I mashed the pedal to the floor and only felt slight tire slip. The 60ft was 1.923, the best this car has ever hooked up. This was also the 1st time I have tried a burnout. I would say slightly heating the tires helped.

The 1/8 mile time was amazing to me 7.92 @ 91.19 The 1/4 returned an 12.17 @ 116.80.

The second run was made 15 minutes after the 1st. the engine temps had jumped up to 190. I only turned the traction control off on this run. There was slightly more tire spin on this run with a 1.949 60 ft.
the rest of the run was...1/8 = 7.97@ 91.02 1/4 = 12.23 @ 115.38

For the 3rd run I let the car set for just over an hour to get the eng. temps back down. I repeated the events of the 1st run hoping to get back into the teens. It came close running 12.203 @ 116.22. The 60ft was 1.933 and the 1/8 was 7.94@ 91.16

It was a great day for me and I can't get over how amazing these LS3 cars are. That 12.17 makes this car a full second faster than my 01 6mn car and 7 mph faster..An added note the 220 mile round trip with the runs returned 28mpg's.....

Car #3 left lane on both slips...
