IMHO the common user is not prepared to learn a new colorful OS. This is why PC manufactures have not stopped shipping XP. IT departments are unwilling to make the change since the hassle level is a 9.9 on the 1-10 scale. For those standalone or home network users who have adopted to Vista, are few and far between. The gap may close as MS will pull the plug on XP, then PC mfgrs will be forced to ship only Vista. I predict, there will be a lot of screaming! I'm seeing the price of used XP machines actual on rise as Vista's negative performance is gaining public attention. Personally I see XP machines being the mainstay of home and small businesses for many years to come. |
