First up was a Sony Bravia(don't remember the exact model). It's a 50" rear projection LCD and for Blu Ray and PS3, it's friggin awesome. Cost was $1399 at Sears. They did a price match on what Best Buy was offering. I have Optimum IO and it broadcasts at 1080i and makes a big difference over the standard stuff. Second was a Hitachi 42" plasma. This one is even better than the Sony. I have this in the bedroom and the picture is great. It was $678 at Sears on a special promotion offered to Sears Card holders. Third is a Panasonic something. Actually my dad bought this to replace his Mitsubishi rear projection. If I'm not mistaken it is a DLP(I'll have to stop by and check). It has a great picture and was bought at 6th Ave Electronics for $1000 and included a free stand. He loves it, but he doesn't have HDTV yet, he wanted the 56" screen because the CC letters are larger and easier to read. |
