That's tough. I used to use floor dry and then use my foot to really grind it in and then sweep it up.......then I would put a big piece of cardboard over it to hide it......
 Hopefully someone has a better idea and will chip in soon.

Geez I walked out on the deck with the thought of having my porrage and turned right around and came inside. It's hot already and we have ball games to play. I am not complaining only stating the facts. I still hate winter so can't bitch about the heat.
Vetron if you and Erin are taking I80 out let me know I would like to meet you guys......I'd buy you lunch or supper. PM me if that will work. I am going to finish the detailing of the front wheels today if I can stand it out in the shop. Then the ball games and then.........who knows. Enjoy your day Guru's!

Do this and it goes faster do that and it sounds good. It's got real valve covers. The C5 does everything just right but it does not sound so good. I will need to address that as soon as possible. If it looks good and runs good its got to sound good also.....It is all part of the package for me.

Thanks for the info on how far you can run the tires. I should read the stuff that came with the tires.......
Back in 92 or 93 we had an 88 Z51 and met up with the bunch running from Sioux Falls out to Spearfish. Before they left they drilled a hole the size of a penny in a new revelutionary tire that did not need air to run on. We all shook our heads thinking that's stupid.......They ran slower than the rest of us but went all the way on that tire. Almost 400 miles. They were already planning what we use today.... You are right about the ride of the Z51. After having that car when I found the 90 I have now the first thing I did was check to make sure it was NOT a Z51.

Good morning! Late night for me also. Ultraboy had a ball game that went on forever and after that I took the C5 out for a 11 pm run. I really like this car a lot. The new tires are good at speed out on the hiway, quiet and smooth.
Matt I can remember some all nighters with sick kids also. I can remember sitting in a hospital room watching and praying for one of the kids while they laid there asleep with tubes and IV's sticking out of them. That sucks big time. It takes a lot courage to be a good loving parent and to provide well for your family and I tip my hat to you and your wife. Got the car shined and interior detailed yesterday and the paint is amazing. I can see where the car was hit with a couple of eggs at one point, war wounds you don't get 80K without them. Need to change the fuel filter next and I see the fuel pump is not as easy to work with as the C4. Have a great weekend guru's!

They are a bit stiffer but have not been out of town yet to see what they are like on the highway. Is 40 lbs too much air? ..........just kidding but they do have 30 in them is that the recommended amount? Where do you run yours at TB?

After much deliberation, and kicking it around I decided to go with the Michelin Pilot Sports A/S ZP Run Flats. Both sides made good arguments ride quality being the big consideration. I have never been dissapointed in a Michelin tire and run them on all our trucks.
Service issues out here in the fly over spaces is something to be considered and TB likes his and runs them so they can't be all bad. 95Vette and Volzfan also had good things to say about them. Tire Rack was $950, then I had to get them mounted and balanced and I don't know about shipping. My local guy charged $1050.00 for the set mounted and balanced. So I went with that. Thanks for all the Guru help!

Good morning! Yes the short week has me all messed up also. We are doing Thursday work on Friday and when do we do our Friday work? On Saturday? I hate that.
I am suprised they want to take a tooth out Tommy. Most the time they will put a crown on it so you get to keep most of the original.... Still trying to make up my mind on what tires to get. Tommy said it right, they can make all the difference in how your car rides and performes. I was researching them on Tire Rack this morning........The Guru has been very helpfull in the Run Flat thread but out here we can get a long way from anywhere real quick. Like TB said you still have to lug a jack and tire wrench around or other stuff if you go none run flats......hummmmmm. Gotta get going before it gets too hot, enjoy something today, its summertime!

One of the tires on the car has a big slice in it. They are BF Goodrich G force non run flats. I have heard that the run flats don't wear well and ride bad. What say the Guru......I may not replace all of them for this season but need to address this issue in the future....

I still have a collection of different media. LPs, cassettes, cd's. vhs tapes, dvd's. No blue ray. Too new. I still remember when a walkman cassette player was the rage. Part of the argument I had with my wife the other night has to do with a stack of record albums I have in one corner. It's about 3'x3'x3'. She got on me about what I was going to do with them since I never listen to them. I just said "Just let it be". She can't let go of it. It comes up at least once a year. I might listen to them and play my vintage video games if I had the time. Too many things higher on the to do list.C5 Turn signals don't work all the time. (updated) |

2002 C5 Coupe. This morning I was out for a drive and went to turn on the turn signal and it quit working so I messed with it and turned on the 4 ways and they worked and then the turn indicators did work for awhile. Not working again now.
I am thinking the flasher is bad so ordered the part and now find out you have to tear the whole dash pad off to get to the stupid flasher. Anyone know an easier way? Cost to have the shop do it is 250 to 300 dollars. Come on man, that's terrible. Thanks

I am just converting over from cassetts to CD's, so I have to take things slow. I will look and see what the Corsa's cost and then see if NAPA makes a Sound Master set up for my C5. One problem has popped up already and I will address it in the proper forum.

Good morning all! The wife is a little grumpy since her Tahoe sat out in the rain last night because the garage is full of Corvettes........Rainwater is soft honey, it won't hurt it....
Taking the car in today to get oil changed and the tranny serviced. Maybe a new battary also after watching some vids that TB posted way back when. He is going to be my go to guy for awhile till I am up to speed on the C5. I have already PM'd him about 10 times. Thanks in advance TB. Upon driving both the C4 and the C5....The C5 is almost huge inside compared to the C4. I am 6' 2" and I can stretch out nicely and my son who is 6'3" and 250#'s fits well also. I love the cockpit feel of the C4 with the new for 90 dash, but the guages on the C5 are cool also and the HUD is really cool. I will need to do something about the sound of the C5. After getting the 90 to sound like I wanted the C5 is almost boring. What is the best system? I see a lot of guys have Corsa's so they must be good. More later.....have a great day Guru nation.

Ok I resisted as long as any normal man could. I have always been able to resist anything except temptation... Meet the new member of the family, a 2002 Mag Red C5 with a black interior. 83K with a ton of options...$14K. My wife loves it and already is saying she would like to drive it....that could be trouble. She might think it hers. It drives great has huge power (for me coming off the L98)and has really cold air cond.     This is what tipped it over the line for me.......  More later when I get it cleaned up. It needs some TLC.

I know a lot about women Tommy, what do you need to know....
I have it all figured out......maybe we need a women chat part of the forum where guys can go to get advice from older more mature individuals like me........ Big tuesday on wednesday so I gotta get going. Rained yesterday with lots of wind but no hail or tornados so its all good. Thanks for the kickoff John and did you beat your wife in the 5K?.........just wondering...
Had a great 4th weekend but now face the reality of 5 days work squeezed into 4. Nuts! Weather here was great humid but not to hot. I got the Harley out and did some riding which was a lot of fun. Got stuff to do, let's get fired up Guru's, the world starts at 8....

Happy Independence Day! Long may the Republic live! Thanks to all the fighting men and women who keep her free.
This is freaky! Cue the Twilight Zone music......I took the kids out for Chinese yesterday and at the end we did the fortune cookie and thing and here was mine..... Geez I gotta buy that C5 now.....I had to laugh when I opened it. Grandma made it down and we went to the fireworks last night. They were great. We sat in the back of our pickup in lawn chairs on a perfect night to watch the show with everyone else in town it seemed. Classic 4th. Gotta go have breakfast with G-Ma. Have a fun day Guru's!
