Went to what we call High Church today at the Lutheran downtown... majestic organ music and a choir... We are non denominational but sent our kids to the Lutheran school here and know a lot of folks..... did I mention it was raining and I came back home after church and grilled the steaks on the deck under an umbrella... made me pay better attention to the grilling as the Sirloins were cut em with a fork tender.... Lucas 75w-90 in the Gear Vendors OD unit.... and Lucas 75w-140 in the Diff. I spent way to much time on the internet researching for just the right lubes..... the Motor Oil Geek was a large source of knowledge....

back to work... tis the season to plant crops so we have fertilizer going everywhere.......

Went in to have lunch with my daughter and see her new office and meet her coworkers..... very nice set up. They do big wiring projects for Hospitals and put in Jumbotrons in stadiums and large fire alarm projects.... all commercial stuff..... She is the HR lead there..... she likes it.... she has a desk that you can stand at or the desk lowers so you can sit at it..... she also has a small treadmill she walks on while she is working while at her desk.... it's a new age Guru's......

Got the oil and filter changed on the 56. Also ran a vented Wix fuel filter with a 1/4" hose from the filter back to the fuel tank. When the fuel starts to boil in the mechanical fuel pump those vapors will vent back to the tank and not go into the carb.... that is the theory anyway. Worked on the old muscle cars so should work here.

Waiting now until its 100+ degrees out on the Interstate and we are rolling along at 80 mph with the AC on and the radio blasting..... if the car does not vapor lock then we have a winner....

The kids got Doc a new Jura coffee maker for her birthday... my job as chief cowboy coffee maker has been replaced by a machine. I am not sad..... best coffee ever with a Jura E4. Teeb got us going on the Jura's 7 or 8 years ago and Doc found a used one on Craigs list. It had been rebuilt by the factory and was a 2010 model. was going to get it rebuilt again but the parts are hard to find and it would have cost to much if it could be fixed. Anyway she is in coffee mode big time....

Yay yay we got the power on..... big damn blizzard came thru here and dumped about 10" of wet snow on us.... almost the whole town was out of power....just a few neighborhoods had electricity. I80 was closed from Ogallala to Omaha as were all the other roads.... a thousand semi trucks parked everywhere.. power was out at the interstate exchange so no fuel or fast food and the motels had no heat or lights

The only store in town with lights on was the Dollar General and it was a scene out of the apocalypse...shelves empty and long long lines of desperate folks trying to buy pop and chips..... geez..... I went in for batteries but turned around and left when I saw the chaos.... We had the fireplace going and are on city water so had water. we have a gas stove so we could cook and make coffee....we ate by candle light.... it was hell I tell ya......
