A very sad day here at our house.... my Dog Ollie was hit out on the road last night and died. He was 8 or 9 years old and we had him since he was a puppy. One of the larger of the Yorkshire terriers he had all their wonderful traits. I am surprised how hard this has hit us but these animals become part or our families and in the fabric or our lives.

I tried to get him in but he was on a scent and ignored me...so sometimes when its warm out we let him sleep on the deck... I wish I would have tried harder to get him...

We lost Ham our 16 year old Yorkie last year and now Ollie.... damnation..... I miss them both.....

She still has the other one of the pair. These are the kittens that crawled up in the front of Ma's Tahoe at the time and rode all the way to Lincoln in the engine compartment on a hot summer day.... when Doc got out at Hobby Lobby she heard them meowing and dug them out and took them to a Vet who gave them fluids and checked them out. They were no worse for wear... damn tough barn cats ya...

Whaas up Guru's? We are back from our extended time in the PNW and Cruise to Alaska... a good time was had by all... the boat was wonderful... the Discovery Princess and I gained 10 pounds due to the always available major buffet lines that cranked out the food from 7 am to 11 pm every day.... and then there are the other restaurants on board...but I'm a buffet man.... they say they wash 300,000 plates a day and go through 50,000 eggs in a week.... a thousand workers on board to take care of anything you need.... very cool!

The ports of call were tourist traps with many many jewelry stores... what is up with that? Does everyone wait to buy their jewelry until they get to Alaska? Did the white water rafting and salmon bakes and lumberjack shows but the best part for me was watching the pristine wilderness slide by sitting on our deck..... wonderful trip but I think made much better by the boat we took.

back at the old grindstone now... gotta work off this extra weight I came back wid....

Have you ever noticed that when one thing goes wrong it starts piling on? My son's Tahoe with 140K has issues and we took the wife's 17 Tahoe in for a 90,000 mile check up and change of the fluids... now they are finding other issues.... damnation....

the old cars seem to be running well.... as I extend my carbon footprint every time I start them up..... I believe my trees and grass on my acreage is giving me a carbon credit to offset that.....

..nothing I hate worse than a crooked mechanic....Glad Aaron is able to be back and hopefully making good wages...

Today I am mowing..... getting an inch to 2 inches of rain per week and the grass is like loving it so much it is growing rapidly... looks good though.... rain is good as long as it isn't 5" at one time...

The 56 wagon is so much more refined than the 64 Dodge at this point.... so here is the Dodge which may get 12 mpg on the highway....with a 15 gallon tank from the factory....what were they thinking.... at least 18 to 20 would work out a lot better no matter what MPG you get..... 56 has a 17 gal tank which is a bit bigger but that is because its a wagon. Normally they were 16 gal tanks in the Mid 5's...

went into star city to work on Big E's 09 Tahoe.... reduced power and engine lights.... code said change the TPS so we did and no joy there. So it is not now throwing that code but a new one that says its the accelerator pedal position sensor.

Probably let the pros handle that one.... also the Tahoe needs a bunch of updates to its ECM....and an airbag recall....

took in the 56 and it purred all the way in and back.... that car runs as smooth as a spanked babies behind...

I'm watching a series on Netflix about the rise and fall of the 3rd Reich. I'm so amazed that one man who was really nothing special could command and send millions to their deaths and they were happy about it. Not the jews of course. Hitler was a monster. The war was really a pay back for losing WW1 and the stock market crash in 29 played right into his hands.... hard to watch though....
