Your GS looks great with chrome wheels - my view on chrome is influenced by the color of the car involved. The closest thing I have to chrome is the stock wheels on the 1985, which are a little too bright compared to the original finish.

So, now that Andy seems to have his 1992 under control, it's time for the rest of us to consider what we're up to with our Corvettes this year. I'll start:

1985 (Lauren); replace the entire center console lid assembly (the underside is starting to crack), replace the passenger side power window assembly (near death), fix the the flighty rear defogger, perhaps replace the faded and brittle carpeting, decide wether to get serious about AACA judging, start thinking about wether I'm going to finally pull the trigger on a full repaint

2003 (Grace); get some replacements for the aging aftermarket floormats, replace the front spoiler (wear part! ), celebrate her 10th birthday, drive her more when the weather gets nice

2012 (Louis); get another set of wheels for the summer tires - probably these

http://www.westcoastcorvette.com/p-48 ... x95-1997-2004-c5-z06.aspx

- but I'm not locked in yet.

What's everybody else up to this year?

Good afternoon, all.

Watching an hour of the Barrett-Jackson auction (don't tell Bill ) and than hunkering down for football.

Nice day today, starting to get really cold tomorrow.

Good afternoon, all!

We went to the Philadelphia Auto Show's charity event last night - the Black Tie Tailgate. Had a lot of fun: no C7s, but easy access to just about all the cars. Seeing the Hot Wheels Camaro for real made me giggle.

I predict even that even those of us who aren't wild about the design initially will have it grow on us. This is what happened to me with the C5. I wasn't big on the look for a couple of years, but around 1999 I saw a black coupe coming from the other direction down a back road and I suddenly, vicerally understood.

Framing stuff is a good idea - our holiday card this year shows some of my grandfather's photos that Ivelis got archivally framed.

Good afternoon, everybody.

We'll take the train into Philadelphia sometime later this evening: eat a late dinner at our favorite steakhouse and stay at an old hotel about two blocks away.

Happy New Year, all! Be safe out there ...

Heavy wet snow in the Philadelphia area today - not too much (3 inches) but dense. Glad I drove the 1985 earlier this week.

Did anybody get any Corvette-related gifts? I only got one (first world problems! ), but it was wonderful: my lovely wife came through with it. Our generic Corvette coffee mugs (purchased in 2003) were starting to get really washed out and aged. So, Ivelis got six mugs made, two for each of the 'Vettes. Three have one big picture and three have a bunch of relevant pictures. All, of course, have their names ...

Good afternoon, all.

My best male friend is in town. We went out to a really nice steakhouse last night and than came home and watched various James Bond movie stunts on Blu-ray until midnight.

Got up this morning and took him over to his sister's. Traffic was California insane but the 2012 was perfectly happy.

CC, the kitchen looks really good. I like Bill H's current avatar, but than I'm a ZZ Top fan. Hard to believe that Sharp Dressed Man (with the 1984 Corvette poster in the young man's room) is almost 30 years old ...

Isn't that just great ... you must have left with a real warm feeling for the dealer.

I'd rather they tell me they weren't the best place than pretend they can handle it and fail. I turn down business that I'm not suited for - I don't mind when other folks do the same.

Primarily I want it for travel as I spend 50% of my life on the road (actually in the air). Here's what I need to be able to do:

Watch movies (mP4, WMV, AVI, etc)
Listen to music (MP3)
Surf the web and email
Simple games
View / edit photos

Memory needs to be expandable via USB and mini or micro SD cards. I store my files on them and will watch/listen from there rather than loading them onto the device.

Battery life is an issue, I'm usually on a 15 hour flight without a way to charge other than plugging into my laptop via USB...

So does the Kindle HD do all of that? I'm thinking Surface but if the Kindle will do it for half price that's the ticket.

Do you need Windows compatibility?

Do you buy from Amazon already?

Probably fairly accurate, but no guarantees ...

1992 LT1 casting number: 10125327

Casting date should be a four digit alphanumeric code

The VIN derivative stamping on the left rear of the block should be 1H51XXXXX.X where the 1 represents Chevrolet, H identifies the model year, 5 represents Bowling Green, and the first five Xs represent the last five digits of the VIN.

Hope this helps!

The original engine in the car? Isn't the original engine!!! It was, apparently, replaced under warranty at some point.

I have judged C4s with engine swaps that the owner did not know about ...
