Good Morning CGs!

Got a chance to work on the damaged wall last night (finally). Lightly sanded the last skim coat and put the primer on it. I'll try to paint that in the next few days. I'm just hoping it blends in well enough that I don't have to paint the entire wall. The paint is still new enough that it shouldn't be a problem.

The SLPs from my old intake are sold, just waiting on payment. So there's a start. Some interest in the base manifold so I hope that goes soon. The trans fund is growing. I need one of those thermometer boards like they put on the old buildings when they have to rebuild the roof.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Got this in my email this morning. Oldie but still gave me a chuckle:

Mississippi salesman

A young guy from Mississippi moves to New York and goes to a big 'everything under one roof' department store looking for a job.

The Manager says, 'Do you have any sales experience?' The kid says 'Yeah. I was a salesman back in Mississippi '

Well, the boss liked the kid and gave him the job. 'You start tomorrow. I'll come down after we close and see how you did.'

His first day on the job was rough, but he got through it. After the store was locked up, the boss came down. 'How many customers bought something from you today?'

The kid says 'one'.

The boss says 'Just one? Our sales people average 20 to 30 customers a day. How much was the sale for?'

The kid says '$121,237.65'.

The boss says '$121,237.65? How's that possible? We don't have anything that cost that much!!!!

The kid says, 'First, I sold him a small fishhook. Then I sold him a medium fishhook. Then I sold him a larger fishhook. Then I sold him a new fishing rod. Then I asked him where he was going fishing and he said down the coast, so I told him he was going to need a boat, so we went down to the boat department and I sold him a twin engine Boston Whaler . Then he said he didn't think his Honda Civic would pull it, so I took him down to the
automotive department and sold him that 4 x 4 Expedition.'

The boss said, 'A guy came in here to buy a fish hook and you sold him a BOAT and a TRUCK ?'

The kid said 'No, the guy came in here to buy Tampons for his wife, and I said, 'Dude, your weekend's shot, you should go fishing.'

Morning guys...I slept way better last night, just being in your own bed makes things better. Not much on the agenda today, going to workout in a few minutes and then finish spraying the finish on the bed.

Fishing.....too cold here for that, I'd have to come up with something else.

Stayed up way to late and slept in.... -2* out right now but the sun is shinning....Got to watching those Golden Goofers last night from Minnisota and since we are in the Big 10 and I hate any team from Texas I wanted them to win....it was tied up with about 30 seconds left and Minnisota threw a terrible pass that was intercepted and run back to the 10 and Texas Tech kicked a chip shot field goal with 3 seconds left and won the game 34 to 31....I was like com'on man.....What about it Brad...?

Today........today I am ....... today I think I will......today I have no idea what I'm doing......but plan on enjoying it....have fun Guru's....

Good morning gang.

Well would you look there, white stuff falling out of the sky again. It actually looks rather pretty, big puffy flakes just floating down. What the hell am I saying ? I'm going to have to go shovel that crap !

Howdy! Gonna go see Trans-Siberian Orchestra and then out to dinner today, should be fun. Meanwhile, it is plenty warm enough for fishing here:

Marcus, yes they do C6's as well. I can't say what the results are like, but they are pretty awesome with the LS1. I can't imagine that they couldn't do the same magic on the LS3...

Marcus, I will have to look into those books. Right now I have a stack of 6 or 8 to get through.

Pianoguy, enjoy the show ! If this is your first, it will amaze you. If you have seen them before, this is a whole "new" story.

I got the drive cleared, time to venture out into the world and see what I can do today.

The marine life seemed to be entranced with the musical selection. The reefs we have in Florida aren't near that impressive but share many of the same species. I snorkled quite a bit in the late 70's and early 80's. I might give it another go since it's been so long since I've donned a dive mask.

Dropped mother off at her home yesterday and returned to my home today. Now for the return to normal around the house. Tomorrow is the holiday tear down. Put it all away till next year. Then it's time to restart the project list. One week vacation in 3 weeks so I have to get all the fishing gear in top shape. New Years is coming up. What are everyones plans? I usually do nothing but give my wife a New Years kiss and go to bed as soon after midnight as possible. I don't know what the big deal is all about. New beginnings I guess. I can do that any day I want. I don't have to wait for New Years. Although, that sounds like it has potential. Be a bad boy next year and make all my New Years resolutions next year.

Hey Matt! How's that resoulution stuff from last year working out for you?

Like I said. You don't need to wait till New Years to do that. That used to be fun on any given Tuesday or Sunday.

Absatively, though some of those in the hats are sober ......but then, there are people standing outside the Today Show with little sighs hoping to wave at a TV camera too.

Heavy wet snow in the Philadelphia area today - not too much (3 inches) but dense. Glad I drove the 1985 earlier this week.

Won $73 on $100 worth of tickets. Looks like $27 went to education. Profits from the Florida Lottery go to the school systems. We're giving back some of the $80 we won with the 4 out of 6 numbers on the draw lottery. We're gonna keep playing till we win something big, dammit.

evening guys....went out to a reception for a former student who got married in Dallas back in October. He's an engineer now, and he took my drafting class all four years in high school. Told me tonight he sure uses the drafting I taught him and was very thankful for having my classes. These are days when you are glad you have been a teacher and you know that you've made a difference in someones life. Food was good too....
