[quote]I deal with Tire Rack, pretty much exclusively. I have them dropped shipped to a local vendor and that's that. The local guys do a real nice install and a great price. Can't beat'm.

I am going to redo the front screen, and we have Tire Rack as a sponser. Can't wait! [quote]

I am looking to buy a full set right now. Had good experience with tirerack.com but onlinetires.com are even cheaper, by $6.- per tire.
Has anyone dealt with onlinetires.com?
What's the best online place to go to, from your experience?

Looking at his website, looks like he got a 90.
You want to open your ECM and check if the Calpack/Eprom is seated properly. You might have a Hypertech- or a custom chip on a carrier that is loose? If the Calpack has a tight fit, time to change the ECM.

Well, for diagnostic purposes, I swapped an auto 2.59 chip for an auto 3.07 axle ratio chip. It wasn't the chip, but a previously intermittent problem became a permanent code and helped troubleshooting the problem. I guess we got lucky on that one.

With auto probably being 2.59 and manual 3.45 axle ratio, I doubt it would make any sense for Dads90 to swap chips.
I would assume, using an auto chip in a manual set up is not so much a problem as vice versa.

When do you have the miss, during idle or while driving?
To swap 90 and 91 chips is ok, but you'll have to compare transmissions and axle ratio.

Would it screw up the running of her car if I put her ECM in mine?

Not at all, just make sure to change the Calpack or commonly known as chip.
Take out her chip and put in yours and you're good to go. Manual- and/or Auto. transmissions, they both use the same ECMs.

The learning procedure only takes a few miles. By the time you are in closed loop and an additional 5 minutes of driving is about all it takes to gather enough data. It's only finetuning of the air/fuel ratio from thereon, but not of your concern with your problems.

Good info guys, thanks a lot.
My buddy just asked me, to go ahead and to order those from RockAuto.
I always thought, the earlier hoods would weigh more because of their structural design, guess not.

Only 90 and 91 Vettes with 7727 ECM.
If you intent to sell, F-bodies with 7730 ECM should work as well.

You would be better off, if you could find someone with an 86 or 87.
88 and 89 are somewhat different, but 85 won't work at all. One is made by Delco the other by Bosch and these have complete different values, by which they measure airflow.

Well finally good news for the little guy. This should put an end to speculation on crude oil, at least I hope so.

Don't forget to disconnect the battery. If I had an LT Vette I would even unplug the ECM. Way too much grief to find a new one.

Need this info for a friend, who's 86 Vette is currently getting a paint job.
He would like to replace those little shocks and needs to know the overall length. The rating of those shocks in NM or lbft would be great to know as well.
Thanks

edit: Did a Google search and found a replacement shock marked 1112N, that would relate to 250 lbft. Anyone who could confirm that?

Now here's a twist. My 91 does have one and I don't have ASR nor ride control. It's a grey module underneath the radio.
I just tried to look it up in the parts manual, but could only find a part number for 90-92.
I am not so sure now that you got one, sorry.

Just wondering if my 89 Vette has one?

Yes you do! It's part of the ABS system.
