Like I said, I have not yet started. It looks like I will need a different flywheel. My Centerforce billet (stock replacement) is too thick (1.5"). From my research, it looks like a Hays 10-530 flywheel will work. I haven't verified the thickness of this unit yet, but it should be around 1.062". Cost is about $260 for the flywheel. The rest of the components would consist of Hays PP 33-610, $199, Hays disk 40-121, $99, and Howe 82876, $159. Total (less miscellaneous crap like hydraulic line) is $717. I will be re-using my stock master cylinder. The good thing about this setup, is that it frees me from a proprietary clutch design (like the stock GM, and Ram C4 conversion). I will be able to buy universal components from any source and know that I can just put them in myself without spending over $1000.
My application is a 434 stroker, Brodix heads, Comp 246/250 solid roller cam, custom single plane Edelbrock 2925 manifold EFI, TPIS long tube headers, and I do all of my own programming. The car even idles with air cond. on. Car made 490rwhp, and 456rwtq on chassis dyno. Best speed in 1/4 mile was 121mph. ET sucked due to excessive wheelspin. I then added slicks and smoked the clutch. If anyone out there can verify the 1.062 flywheel thickness for this clutch conversion, then that would be helpful

LD85,
I am almost ready to begin this clutch conversion on my 91. Can you please tell me what flywheel you are using and what is it's thickness? I already have a billet Centerforce flywheel, but it is 1.5" thick, and I think that this may be too thick. From your pictures, it looks like your flywheel is thinner. Any info is appreciated.
