From here:

The $89 cost of a digital camera you will get back whenever you sell your car, because it has photo-doc'ed dated repairs, which increase the marketability of the car.

Details, details, details...

Photo doc repairs? That's interesting. I thought the pics were only for forum use. Good point Blade.
BTW i ordered a cam from WallyWorld. The crazies on ebay were paying more than they could buy for on the net somewhere other than ebay.

I thought i should follow up on my original post in this thread.

I read the code pull info pdf and it says it applies to 92/93 only. If ODBII didn't come out until '96, and my '94 has ODBI, what is the difference between pulling the codes for the 92/93 and the 94? Were the pin-outs changed on the '94 CCM connector or is the whole procedure different?
The car is a stock '94 coupe. The problem i have is the digital read out for the oil temp always reads zero but the gauge seems to be working.

From researching on the 'net i have learned that a 16 pin ALDL connector was used in '94, instead of the 12 pin used in earlier years, in preparation for the ODBII system. On the 16 pin connector the paper clip trick works if you short pins 4 and 12 so a code pull can be done. I think. Still need to try it though.

Most of the info i learned came from this site:

[url=http://www.aldlcable.com/sc/toplevel.asp?cat=0[/url]

Good pics and schematics if you want to build your own cables to use a computer and some of the software that's out there.

Now, here is where i hang my head and shuffle my foot.

The 'failure' in the oil temp readout? I was looking at the very bottom of the screen and saw

OIL 0F (where is that degree sign)

Doh! Silly me

Ahh, I knew there was a 'cost' for the 'free' advise. I've been trying to get a digital cam on ebay but keep getting outbid. Maybe i should hold off on any repairs until i get a camera. Not!

Is this the place to post questions or mostly for 'chat'?
I have a question about code pulling, after reading the pdf on the subject, and i'm not sure if i post it here or in the tech area.

I had found this site while searching out info on the net. Been going to CF but thought I would try this place for a while and see if the "advise" is tainted by vendor bias. My only problem (only?) is that I don't really know enough to tell the difference.
Besides, I've had quite a few good laughs from reading some of the posts here. I like laughs. Laughs are good and some of you guys really crack me up.

Just joined this forum and wanted to say hi all. I'm new to corvette ownership as well and have been doing ALOT of searching, reading and learning about my '94 green coupe. I'm looking forward to getting back into "wrenching". From reading posts it seems I may get my fill of it as I am not about to pay 'stealership' prices and want to keep my vette running good.
My '94 is my first Corvette. If I only knew what a big smile owning and driving a vette could put on my face, I would have bought one long ago.
