yeah, i had the wife and little ones with me and we ran into lunch and nap time. one of the organizers made me show my car, not that it was much of an argument. i didn't think it was show worthy but he disagreed. i was the second car in right from where you pulled in. there was a red 77 with side pipes and then me, then a red i think c4, wasn't paying that close or attention.

Do you know what time it starts? Saturday mornings are tough for me, I have to take my daughter to gymnastics. Later in the day I'd be up for it. Is there a theme this weekend? I know for Father's day Flyboy went and took a ton of great classic car pictures.

Do you plan on being there?

Matthew

registration starts at 10:30. i'm planning on being there yeah. i don't know if i'll register or show, my car's not really a beauty queen. doesn't look like much but she's got it where it counts...

Ok, one of the many things on my list for the old '77 is to swap out the automatic for a manual, unique, i know. one thing i'm thinking about is having the room to operate the clutch. i'm 6'4" and worried/curious about if i'll hit the steering wheel with my knee all the time. any other tall folks out there with a manual trans that can provide insight?

i agree with bogus. been thinking about this myself, if it takes say 100 hp to overcome accy and driveline losses then no matter if you make 400 or 800, it's still eating 100 hp. wouldn't it be better to use a guess of X hp rather than X percent?

If you look at that formula posted above, it is not a simple percentage or simple hp number. If you use higher/lower hp #s, the ratio changes, assumingly based on what you are saying.

Matthew

i went to that calculator. i did 400 and 480 hp at the crank with a manual trans and both came back with 68 hp less at the wheels. it's voodoo i tell ya.....

I have an old fluid damped gage. I might stick it in there and see what happens...

Hey DB. I've spoken to you lots on the "other" forum. The bypass is a Barry Grant and it's new last summer. The car has no emissions other than cats. Car has stock pressure and return lines. This wasn't a problem for a while then the bypass went bad and I replaced it as i didn't know what was on there, cheap and cheesy or not. I'm measuring the pressure right at the carb just before the primary bowl feed. The car runs fine, this is just one of those annoying why is it doing tbhis things....

Trying to get an aswer to this is proving to be tougher than it should be. I have a 77 with a relatively mild 355. 750 Holley double pumper, mild cam and a few other bits. The guy that built the engine put a Victor race pump on it and it needs a regulater, which is present. The thing is, at idle, the fuel pressure swings like crazy, from about 3 or 4 psi up to about 11 or maybe 12. no fuel is coming out the bowl vents or anything like that and the car runs fine but does anyone know what i can do to settle this down? The car is using the stock fuel lines.
