Morning guys… hot and muggy in north central Kansas and it was raining a little bit ago.

Not much on the agenda. Just got back from a walk and bike ride. Headed to the “Little Apple” after while to play golf with GS

Hey guys, we got up early got packed up and headed east. It was pretty warm when we got up and as we came east it just kept getting hotter and more humid. Checked in to the cabin got unpacked and headed to the pool. It felt pretty good even though the water was a bit warm.

Nothing else planned for today except stay in her school.

I’ll let you know once I have the new lenses in hand. Will also inform everyone about my experience in doing this replacement.

Morning guys...warm here. I've got the grill fired up and getting ready for the ribs to go on.

All the local family will be here later to consume those ribs later.

Thinking about dropping 007 down and going for a short drive...can't be long as I have to babysit the ribs.

I just ordered a set of the Mexico lenses. I'll be trying my hand at this before too long.

Morning guys... a rain cloud passed last night and left us a whole 1/10th of an inch...we'll take it. Hot again today,

#2 and hubby invited us over for wings after church. They both have to work on the 5th, so they are doing their celebration today. I told them I'm doing ribs on the 4th and they can come over for that.

Morning guys.... Was really busy yesterday. And the heat came back. Today is going to be warm as well.

Typically GS and I would go golfing tomorrow, but Rosie and I will be attending the funeral of a long time friend and client. This ladys' husband took my woodworking classes when I taught adult classes, they had me do many projects for them. He passed a couple years ago from the big "C". Within the last year she had me do a second batch of little rocking chairs that they give to their great grands. She told me then (knowing her time was short, as she had the same "C" as her husband) that she wanted to have several on hand for 'future' greats. Taking to our priest Sunday, he told me they had taken her home and put into hospice care. Later we learned she passed later that day.

With that being the case, GS and I will be going golfing this morning. On out way out, I have to stop and look at a little project. This lady sent pictures yesterday, and called me this morning asking if I got the pictures. Yes. Then says she needs it in a couple weeks. I told her I'm not even around next week, but I'll look at it. Some people don't understand what it takes to do some of these projects, luckily, for her, she has MONEY.....because of the short time frame, she is going to pay......

Have a great day, Gurus.

morning guys... Cool start here, 50 when I got up, but the south winds are going to bring warmer temps today. Looking at highs in the upper 80s or low 90s. Was moist all day yesterday, acquired .30 of rain. Not much as compared to what the rest of you guys get, but a great amount for us and we are very thankful for every drop. Came down real slow so every drop was soaked up by mother earth. Because of the rain Mens night was cancelled.

Finished up the turnings and put the chairs together, then was able to assemble the china cabinet we are working on.

Rat rods....not a huge fan. But do like older cars with original paint (patina) with modern running gear.

Morning guys... yesterday was beautiful. Today is supposed to be similar. Not much rain, but relief from the heat and wind. Today we have a CHANCE for rain....we would love that, even though the farmers are trying to cut wheat. The wheat crop looks pretty bleak around here due to the drought, but the farmers cut it anyway.

We got things to do in the shop, so that will keep us busy and I've got Mens night golf tonight.

Morning guys...I noticed this morning that I never hit "submit" button yesterday, actually never finished the post.

Hot yesterday, hotter today. GS and I are going golfing this morning before it gets too hot.

Another full day here. Up and out the door to the 'city' by 7:30. Picked up materials needed for a couple projects we are working on. Got home and had one job that needed to be done ASAP, as it was outside, on the sunny side of a house and the neat was coming fast. Completed that one before lunch.

Marc, we are going to be at Milford lake July 5-7, in the pickup. Thinking we can meet you on our way home and pull the trailer back at that point.

Morning guys... Not as hot yesterday, or today. Nice for a change.

Mowed at the storage shed, then worked at the ladys' house finishing up a shelving unit in her basement. While there, the rep from the chamber of commerce calls me, about noontime, asking if there was any way possible I would do another 'ribbon cutting' plaque for a new business, "I know you're really busy". I said sure I'd get to it sometime. "Well, I need it by Thursday morning" So I told him I'd get it done for them despite the short notice, as I would be in the shop in the afternoon. So I did that as I got GS started on the next project.

I hope and trust that you have a wonderful, first full day of summer.

Morning guys... up and around and out to the shop to spray finish already. Tried spraying yesterday afternoon, but too hot. The lacquer would dry before it even hit the project. 72 now, so I was able to lay out a nice coat...maybe the last one on the dresser. Another project just got the first coat. Hopefully, we can get that one sprayed again before it gets too warm. Looking at another day in the low 100s and a little breezy this afternoon.

GS and I are headed out to the golf course for our weekly round.

Hey guys, up and around fairly early and off to church to see if there was anything that needed attention for the funeral. I ran some errands for the ladies doing the meal, the lady doing the music, for Father and ended up serving Mass as one of the servers didn't show. After church, I hung around and helped the lady from the funeral home set up the slide show on our projector and rear projection screen. The ladies told me to eat with the family, so after eating the family was still hanging around, but I needed to go home nd see how the GS was doing working in the shop. Then got a call from my friend who needed help installing a sliding patio door, so Leo (GS) and I went over to help him. Really needed the help as it was a big door and it was pretty hot already.

It was rather warm today, only got up to 103 and the wind was blowing 20-30mph. I've just about had enough of the triple digits already.

Good to hear that health issues are mild/non existent, Gris. Hang in there Letty, hopefully the heat will subside a bit and Arrons' situation will work itself out. Which lenses did you end up buying? Tommy, you could consider us as the neighbors on the other side of you...after all who better to have as neighbors than Matt on one side and me on the other?

Hey guys, busy day here. Wasn't really too bad today, only 97 and light breezes... bearable. Tomorrow predicted high of 92, but then the furnace comes back.

GS and I finished the construction of the dresser today. A little sanding then ready for staining and finish. Still waiting for stain color for other cabinet in shop...the lady says she has it, just needs to find it.

First thing in the morning we go set up tables for the funeral dinner on Thursday. Wake service @ 7pm, I'm leading the rosary. Then the funeral is Thursday @ 10am

Hope everything works out for your daughter, Gris. I'm sure it's bitterseet to have that stuff finally coming to an end Letty.

Morning guys... a bit warm this morning, 80 already, headed to 107 they say. should be a fun day. A little storm cloud came through last night and dropped a little moisture... about .20. Not a lot, but every drop is precious to us.

Work in the shop is on tap for today...maybe go back down to the shed and mow there too. If we are doing that, I'd better get to it before it gets much warmer.

I only take 007 to shows for the support of the cause the show is for. I go to our local show, because if I didn't, there would be very few cars at all. I don't want to see it go away, so I support it. But when I go, I do not expect any trophy.

Morning guys... Warm here again today. Yesterday ended up with an official high of 107....pretty warm for mid June. Today, they say 102.

Nothing really planned. I hope it's a restful day for all of you folks.

Spent the morning and part of the afternoon washing clay barring and applying a ceramic booster to the pickup and Cadillac. Freaking hot out there, was up to 100 before I finished them. Came in and my shirt, shorts, even my underwear were soaked from sweat. 102 when we walked to church (it's only 3 blocks). It's a dry heat though... :-)

Tomorrow, I'm going to try and use the booster on 007.

Up and around.... Not much on the agenda today. Think I'll wash the pickup, as it is supposed to climb into the 100s the next three days. I'll also keep an eye on the BIG race. Hoping Team Corvette can make a good run.

Hey guys, up normal time, and picked up GS and went to the golf course to get a round in before it gets too hot. Nice to be outside, but the golf could have been better. No biggie though...A bad day on the golf course is better than a good day sitting inside.

Got a call yesterday morning, my friend and chhirch mate called to say his wife had to be taken to the hospital as when he came home from work her blood sugar was way high and she was unconscience. this morning he called again, she passed away during the night...just a few months older than us... she did have health conditions, but still a sad day for us here.

Onward gurus!

Hey folks, busy last couple of days. We actually had a little rain maybe a couple inches over the last week or so. This week has been cool (relative to a 'normal' June. upper 70s to mid 80s this week. Climbing into the 90s this weekend and upper 90s to low 100s next week.

Lots of work in the shop and out of the shop.

Morning guys, up and around. Will head east pretty soon. Meeting up with Marc about an hour west of where we are now.

We’ll stop and see Rosie’s dad on the way back.

I’ll check back in later.

Evening guys, up early and off to the family reunion. Met up with my sis there and we went around the town seeing the site where relatives lived. Sis wanted to see the house where grandma and grandpa lived. Then I said we should go out to the farmstead. Sis said she hoped I knew where it was, as she had no idea. I said, I thought I remembered where it was, and we headed out of town. After some figuring in my head, I came to the conclusion I was probably 11 years old the last time I’d been out there. Well, I tell them, I think this is the turn and then driving a bit further I tell them “There it is”, and sure enough I took them straight to it. We pull up and stop, there was a lady standing there and I told her why we were there and she asked if we were related to so and so? No. Then she asked if we were related to Lee and mollie? Yup, they were our grandparents. Well, it was like we were old friends then. We talked for a while, then headed back to town.

It was a good time and we will probably come back again next year.

Heading back to western Kansas in the morning. Will meet up with Marc in Salina.

I say “I made him drive…” as he really didn’t want to, but within a few minutes, he was making comments like “You know, I ve never realized how many trees there are around here” and “I really don’t mind driving”. He’s just not had opportunities to drive out of our little burg.

Out of church, and the weather is pretty nice for eastern Kansas. Cool, mostly cloudy and no wind. Hanging out at GSs apartment for a while before we head back to the motel.

Hey guys, left early to head east….Manhattan, the little Apple. I drove the first couple hours and then made GS #2 drive the rest of the way. First time he’s done that. Must of his driving has just been around town.

Headed to church…..

Morning guys...Nice morning here, mid 50s now, headed to low 70s and no wind right now.

Sounds like the normal "Sky is falling" crap that the liberal left spews all the time, Tommy. The American farmer is pretty resilient and adaptable to changes.

A little work in the shop today is on tap. Should be a good day.

Cool all day, andgot a 6" rain....a drop of rain here and then another 6" away..... :-( Drier than popcorn fart....

Did get the cabinets installed at church, then headed to the city to pick up a few groceries.

More spring-like tomorrow and the rest of the week. Promising rain again tomorrow night into Friday. We'll see........

Mornig guys... Only made it to 9pm last night. Woke up at 8am so I think I might be good for today.

Much cooler today. Cloudy, cool and chance for some moisture. Working inside today, setting some cabinets.

Hey guys, rough day here. Beautiful, weather-wise, but I didn't sleep at all last night, so that made for a long day. Worked all day in the shop... hope I can make it to bedtime, don't want another "no sleep' night.

Morning guys...Should be a nice day today, if maybe a little breezy. Upper 80s predicted. Yesterday, I gave 007 a bath and the Caddy too.

Today GS and I are going golfing.

Morning guys... A quick trip to Wichita to watch GS run. A beautiful drive in 007. He performed flawlessly making about 28mpg.

It was warm at the track meet. GSs relay team ran OK not near their potential, didn't finish on the podium. Hung around to watch some really good races, saw several State records broken.

Today 007 will get a bath, a full tummy and then back on the lift.

Hey guys, Up early and over to install porch railing for a 'slum-lord'...but his rentals aren't slums and he keeps them up really well. He's got a local couple, he's had a foot amputated (diabetes), moving into the place this weekend, and needed a ramp installed and railings around the porch done. I did the ramp last week, ordered the parts for the rail Sunday and Monday, they came in yesterday and today, so I spent all day installing it.

Morning guys... Sunny and cool this morning. Headed for a low 80s high. a little breezy, but a pretty day on tap.

GS leaves for Wichita this morning. Doesn't run until Saturday, but some run tomorrow. We WILL be going to Wichita to watch him on Saturday. Drive 4 hours to watch him run for 2 minutes.... Doesn't make any sense financially to go, but makes perfect sense to show him how much we love and support him. When I told him we were coming to see him he said "You're going to drive to Wichita to watch me run for 2 minutes?" And I told him I felt it was important to see him run at State. They have the 2nd best time, in their class, going into State and hopefully will finish on the podium.

Materials coming in for a job today.... maybe I'll get a start on that job.

Morning guys....chilly again this morning but the weather gurus are promising a warmup through the weekend. 68 predicted high today, into the upper 80s by Sunday.

Back to the church hall to finish up the TV installations in the classrooms.

Hey guys, been drizzly all day...Praise the Lord! I think it's too late for the wheat, but might have saved the cattle producers here in the area. It was just too dry to even the grass to grow so the cattle could eat it. This rain will keep them going for some time.

Worked in the shop for a while then went to the church hall to finish the wiring for the TVs we are putting in the classrooms. Finished that up and got one TV mounted. Will go back tomorrow and hang the other 8.

Matt, you're right, I should make the trip.

Morning guys....Cool, cloudy and dampish this morning, here. The weather gurus are saying we should get some rain later today through Wednesday. I hope they are right.

GS is on summer Vacation...well, he'll have track practice in the afternoons through this week as state track is this weekend. I still haven't decided whether I'm going to go watch him run or not, would love to, but it's a long way to go for one race.

Hey guys, down-right chilly here this morning again, but already warmer than yesterdays' high. Mid 60s predicted.

Nothing really on the agenda for today. Walked over to #2s house and helped her with planting some flowers, working up some flower beds... now home and going to watch my Royals...probably get their asses whipped.

Not a lot going on today, church later.

Hey guys, clear cool and calm today. GS AWOL today, well, not exactly AWOL, I know where he is, he left a little after 8am to ride halfway across the state to attend Regional track meet. he qualified in the 4 x 800 relay and the open 800. A top 3 finish today will punch his ticket to the state track meet. Latest update, the 4 x 800 finished 2nd and will be going to state next week....no word yet on his performance in the open 800.

I went ahead and sprayed the little dresser with the enamel. It was too nice today to pass that up. I built a cornhole set, for a prize at a memorial event coming up over father's day weekend, today as well.
