Morning guys... up early and went to church. It said it was 35 out when we went out the door. Didn’t feel that bad though, no wind, so my light jacket was more than enough..

GS #4 has a cross country meet today, so we will go watch that. GS#6 had his BDay Thursday, but he wasn’t around when we got here (they went to St. Louis with GS#5 and their mother) to GS#5 soccer tourney. They will be home later today and we will celebrate this evening.

Other than that, that’s about it. I hope Marcus is done licking his wounds from the licking Big Red took yesterday.

Clear and chilly start, it was 35 earlier, 40 now. Got my hair cut last night. Nothing on the agenda this morning.

Where is everyone else? I trust all of you will have a great day.

Hey guys...started out chilly and cloudy this morning, now it’s just chilly. Some of the grands don’t have school today, so we are watching them. Watching a movie, Jumanji, not the Robin Williams one, but the “Rock” one, it’s pretty funny.

Not much going on today.

We made it to KC. I’m all signed up to start Medicare come January. Not going to start SS until I reach my full retirement age. Rosie might when she retires, and she will retire this next year (birthday in Feb.) but we are waiting to see most advantages time for state retirement system, before we know when that will be.

Been pretty chilly all day, but we didn’t really notice as we were in the pickup. I did pick up the Pit Boss grill. Will have to wait until we get home and I will put it together.

Morning guys...all ready packed and ready to head east. Appt this morning in DC is 11:15 so will need to leave here about 9:30. Not sure how long the appt will take, but as soon as we are done, we head on toward KC.

I'll check in later. Have a great day.

Hey guys...been running since the git-go this morning. It warmed up to upper 80s today. Tomorrow a high of upper 40s and lows Friday morning into the upper 20s. Close to a 70 degree swing in 36 hours, last time this happened, we lost a lot of trees around town....doesn't look good....

Work on computers and building cabinets has been the rule of the day here.

Tomorrow is travel day. First to Dodge City and visit with the SS people about medicare and maybe about getting SS started for Rosie....not sure about that yet. Then headed on up to KC to see the kids up there.

Sounds like you may have gotten a good deal on that grill, Marcus. I talked to our local hardware guy today and he was talking the Louisiana Grill up pretty good, but he sells Traegers and Pit Boss as well. No decision yet.

Happy birthday Andy! Same as John Lennon...different years of course.

Well, I better get to doing some packing for the weekend.

Morning guys... another cool one, lower 40s now but headed to low 80s today. But by Thursday, the highs will be in the upper 30s. And a hard freeze is eminent Friday and Saturday nights

Pit boss at Menards...slightly different model I can order from Walmart for $100 cheaper and the one the lady, from Topeka, has on FB marketplace is new in box, like the one I could order from Walmart and she wants $100 less than Walmart. If that deal falls through, I'll probably order the one from Walmart.

Got a call from neighbor across the street, needing me to do a small project for him, so I worked on that today, and got it done.

Celebrating #3 GS birthday this evening. 15 years old and Saturday will be the 15th year since my dad passed away.

Morning guys... slept in this morning. cool and clear, 37 for the low and upper 40s now, headed to low 70s. Pretty, fall morning. Changes coming at the middle of the week though, just in time for our trip to KC.

We have an appointment this afternoon with our financial planner, to discuss the upcoming retirement of Rosie, and in our upcoming meeting with Social Security on Thursday.

I have some things to do in the shop, but nothing really that pressing.

Have a great day guys.

Morning guys...slept in a bit. Cloudy and cool this morning. mid 40s early, up to low 50s now, headed to upper 60s.

Not much going on. Looked at the Traeger demonstration yesterday, nice grills, but quite pricey. Looked at a Pit Boss too.... not nearly so expensive, and does the same thing. Thinking we'll start with the PB and if we need the higher quality, we can buy a Traeger later.

Have a great day!

Morning guys...Headed to the 'city' looks to be a nearly perfect fall day. Upper 60s to low 70s, sunny and light breezes.

I'll check back later! Have fun Tommy. Don't spend too much Gris.

Evening, we won the homecoming game. the local boys are 5-0, I understand next week is going to be a real test for them.

Got some things accomplished today, and more to do, but nothing all that pressing.

I hope all of you had a great day.

Raining this morning. That's a good thing. 50 now with showers, but supposed to get up to 70.

I have a few things to work on in the shop, to keep me busy today. Rosie had to go in to work for a while this morning. This evening, we have football homecoming, and, as usual, I'm running the clock, so that takes care of the evening.

Tomorrow, Rosie has a benefit run/walk she is doing early in the morning, then we are headed to the 'city' to watch a demonstration for a Traeger grill. I'm afraid that with Traeger, you are paying for the name. I've been looking at other pellet grills and, it appears to me, most are pretty much the same. And many are 1/2 to 3/4 to price of the Traeger. I've talked to several people who have pellet grills, various brands, and got the low down from them.

Have a great day folks.

Well, I'm up early, well compared to all last week. It was great to sleep in my own bed....slept like a rock.

As I said in my post last night, it was cool when we got home, and it appears that today may be a carbon copy. It is 47 now, and only headed towards the low 60s and cloudy all day.

I hate, in some respects, leaving on vacation. I now have a ton of things I'm behind on. I picked up a few things yesterday that need done. Made a couple of visits to fix a couple other things, and made arrangements for a couple other visits today and tomorrow.

Last night I went on the Social Security website and started my enrollment for Medicare, ran into questions so I saved my work and, hopefully, get those questions answered next week when we visit them face to face.

I guess it's back to the grind. Have a great day.

Hey guys.....Catnapping? Uh, NO! At 4am(MT) this morning I got up to go to the bathroom, a few minutes later Rosie did as well. At 4:30 I could tell she wasn't going back to sleep (so neither was I) and I asked her if she was ready to get up and head for home. So we were on the road home by 5:20. It was 38 when we got in the car, and when we went over Wolfe Creek Pass (10,400') the temps dropped to 33. By the time we broke out into the foothills (7:30am) the temps there were in the low 60s. But headed east about 15 miles into the foothills, We ran into low heavy fog and the temps dropped back into the low 40s and stayed there until we left Colorado...by the time we got home (12:45 local time) it was back up to the low 50s.

Got unloaded and put stuff away. And got started returning calls and making calls on people who called me while I was in CO. And I had two meeting this evening....so it has been a busy day and not one Cat Nap.

Nothing planned for today, I’ll start packing some of the stuff in the car. It has been a good week, but we have to return to reality.

Hey guys...slept in this morning. Then ate a little breakfast. 46 when we headed out the door to go to the golf course. Mid 70s now. The golf was better today.

We walked over to the Rec center, and while Rosie swam, I sat in the hot tub. Tonight we are going to the hot springs to soak.

Hey guys... after the long day, yesterday, 4 wheeling, we slept in a little then went to church. Not much planned for today. Just lounging around some while recuperating. The wind, sun and beating around in the 4 wheelers tuckered us out.

Morning guys.....up and around today. Getting ready to head south to our friends/neighbors from home, place in New Mexico. They have a 4-wheeler/side-by-side/Jeep trip planned for today, along with some of their friends from down there. Should be a fun day. It’s about a 45 minute drive down there, so we need to hit the road pretty soon.

Tommy, the container looks awesome. The painter did a nice job.

Morning guys...slept in this morning. Slept like a log. It’s cool out, 46 now and headed to a high in the low 70s. Sunny now, but clouds moving in around noon.

Not a lot planned for today, a walk, maybe some golf and probably a little drive south to meet up with our neighbors from home. They have a place south of here about 40 miles (in New Mexico) and they came up yesterday after work (they must have arrived about 11pm). They have wanted us to come down and see there place for several years, it just never worked out that we were both here at the same time. So that might be on the agenda today as well.

I trust all of you will have a great day....later guys.

Hey guys... Made it to southwest Colorado. Three short stops. Was hoping that the trees would be in their fall colors, but not much change yet. Maybe we could have done 007....

It’s mid 70s here at 7500’ elevation, and sunny. Was cloudy all the way up to Wolfe Creek Pass, then on the western slope, the clouds cleared and the temps went up. It was 62 at the pass (10600’ elevation).

Well, we are unpacked and need to go get some groceries.

Massage was wonderful. My therapist is very good. Asks me about my issues/complaints/concerns and gives extra attention to those.

Not much else accomplished...car is loaded and we are ready to leave as soon as we get around in the morning.

I was MIA yesterday. Up early and headed north to Elsie, Nebraska. #1 GS and his s/o. It was a 4 hour trip up there...actually a little longer, because, the way I chose had road construction and a Detour, back to a longer way, which I had rejected. Took us about an hour to load up and secure everything and hit the road home. We didn't stop on the way up and it was about 1:40 when we left her parents' house. GS said he was hungry, and I asked where the closest place to eat was and she said they would go to Imperial, which just so happened to be on the way home (my second choice route). So we went there to eat (about a 40 minute stop) and then she wanted to stop by and see her Grandma, who lives there, and that was a quick stop. Then on the road home. One more stop in Goodland Kansas for fuel (Silverado was making good gas mileage, over 19mpg) and a pee. Then on home. Got back home and dropped off GS & s/o, picked up Rosie and headed over to the 'city' to unload their stuff. GS says again that he was hungry, so we took them out for supper. Then over to Menards to pick up a few things for a quick job at the church this morning and then home.....9:30pm. My but is dragging, but have a few things I need to do before going to bed. So get those done and head to bed a little after 11. I will say, I slept good.

This morning it is cool, mid 60s and will only make it up to the mid 80s. I'm headed up to the church pretty quick to swap some door knobs. We had another theft and father has come up with a possible solution. So I will make every effort to satisfy him.

At noon, it's lunch with the "old folks" at the Senior Center. And then I have a massage appointment this afternoon.

Tomorrow, Rosie and I will head for the mountains.

Have a great day folks.

Hey guys...Been busy since the git-go. Lots of room out here in western Kansas, Tommy.

It warmed up again today 89 now, but started this morning at 49. While it was cool, Rosie and I went down to the shed and mowed the weeds, and moved some lumber from one pile into a pile in a different location (next to the shed). A neighbor asked me if I would be interested in "renting" some space down by the shed for him to park a couple of trailers he owns. The lot where the shed (16 x 24) is, is 75' x 130' and chain-link fence all around, so, there is plenty of space to park a couple of trailers.

I did a little project for Father at his house and swapped out the sway bar endlinks on the rear of the Caddy. We kept hearing a clunking noise at times going over hard bumps, I originally thought it was shocks, but I replaced those and we still had the clunks. I couldn't figure out what it was and then I was reading a thread on the "forum" and someone said the end links were causing the clunking, so for $30 I figured it was a cheap try. I haven't driven it very much since then, but, it appears to have, at least, helped if not fixed the clunking.

Getting ready to go play golf, so I better sign off.

OH, Marcus, headed to Elsie NE tomorrow, up near Imperial.

Morning guys....slept in the morning and haven't done much since. It finally cooled off a little last night, 64 now and only looking at mid 70s as a high. Still no rain for us, it's getting real dry out here.

Not sure exactly, Marcus.....north of Goodland someplace as I understand.

BSGS is 10? That probably deserves a wash job...you know, a "Hand job".

Busy day for me, not much accomplished, but busy all day. Slept in a bit, then out to the shop to attach the top to the cabinet....DONE. Make out the bill and a little paperwork. Then over to the 'city' for weekly groceries. Met up with #1GS and took him out for brunch. By the time we got home, it was getting close to church time....just enough time wash the Caddy in prep for the trip to the mountains later in the week.

#1GS and his s/o are headed up to NE so they can get some things from her family for their apartment. They have to drive up there (about 3 hours, as I understand), load up the stuff into her dads' SUV drive back, then take the SUV back and then drive home....I'm thinking, "that's stupid", so I volunteered to take them up in the pickup, load it up and head back, saving them a second trip. This would be Tuesday. They are to let me know tomorrow, would be crazy not to take me up on the offer.

Was supposed to be cooler today...didn't happen, low 90s again. Rosie has been checking the weather for our place in CO, upper 60s to low 70s for highs and mid 30s to low 40s for the lows. I'm looking forward to that.

Morning guys...A nice start to the morning, low 60s now and headed to the mid 80, and maybe a little rain.

Rosie had to go into to work this morning, some meeting about water well testing. We went over to the 'city' last night to pick up the particle board I needed for the top, so I can get going on that right away. I'll also finish spraying the doors for the cabinet, install the locks and final assembly.

I hope, all of you, have a wonderful Friday.

Hey guys... Been at it since the git-go. It was a nice cool start, but it got hot by shortly after noon. I fought the router for a while today. Finally, just grabbed a different one to use. POS......

I got most of the cabinet done today as well, just need to finish spraying lacquer on the doors and build the top. The formica I ordered for the project came in today, so tomorrow I'll construct the top and apply the formica, mount the doors and that should finish up that job.

Well, I got started on the few items I had planned, but, as I anticipated, things got changed up. A call from one of my LOLs (little ole ladies), but not a TV issue this time, but a cabinet problem. I got that fixed in short order and headed back to the shop. Then I decided to check my email and had a message saying my router had a firmware update that needed installed. So I went in and updated the gateway router, everything was cool. Then there was an update for my Access Point router, so I installed that and it wouldn't hook back up and I ended up spending the rest of the day...and into the evening some to get that going...actually I never did get the router back up and ended up putting a different one on.

Next week Rosie and I are headed to the mountains for a week. Not taking 007 though this year as some of the passes have already been getting some snow.

Up and around. It's cool out side, low 60s, but headed to the low 90s, and windy, again. The wind the last few days has made it feel like a blast furnace. Luckily, staying in the shade has made it tolerable. Hopefully today will be the same.

Got sidetracked yesterday a couple different times, but still got much of the cabinet done. Today I have raised panels to prepare and then glue up the frame and panel, front panel and doors.

Got lunch at the Sr center at noon....other than those items, the rest of the day is up in the air, whatever comes at me, I'll roll with the punches.

Have a great day, gurus!

Starting to gather parts for my winter projects on 007. I ordered new brakes...pads and rotors/hardware. I went with stock Z51 replacements. They came in today. I'm going to replace the shocks as well... I'll order those at a later date. Leaning toward Bilstein HD B8s.

With 55k on the clock, you'd wonder why I am replacing the brakes, but I've noticed the rotors (front in particular) are developing ridges and uneven wear.

This spring, I'll be ordering new tires. The ones on 007 are nearing the wear bars and are now 7 years old (according to the date codes). The sidewalls look just fine, as I clean & treat them regularly, more on the outside, but I remove the wheels and tires at least once a year to do just that on the insides. Michelin AS+3 ZP are the ones on my final cut list. I've liked the Firestones' but, they are not an all season tire, and they have been discontinued.

Other projects may be in line, I just haven't finalized any other upgrades/maintenance items.

Morning guys....Alarm was not a welcome sound this morning. I'm up and around though. It's cool right now, but headed to the mid 90s.

Played golf last night...well, I went out and chased the ball around, didn't really play. Might be time to put the clubs up for this year.

I need to get out to the shop and work on the cabinet I started yesterday, beings I told the client I'd have it done this week.

I hope you guys have a great day.

I have shot it in a while, but, as I recall, the trigger wasn't that bad on my PPKs. I need to go out and shoot it again to jog my memory.

Morning guys...Slept in a bit and haven't done much since. Cool now, but headed up to the low 90s.

I'm building a cabinet for a local bank today. So really should get going.

I remember "F-Troop"...aahhh, the good ole days.

Hey guys...I slept in the morning, until 9:30. Then decided we ought to go for a bike ride before it got too hot. So did that. Got home, and found my friend a couple houses down broke his arm Friday, so went down to talk to him. Then another friend/former student, showed up asking me for some help/advice on a project he's doing. After that, we had a hotdog and I took a nap.

It has warmed up, 92 now and still rising. I'm going to grill shish-ka-bobs this evening for us and #2 and boys. Later, Rosie wants to go to the town west of us to see a movie.....

Later guys.
