It was running great, and shifting fine. Untill me and my girlfriend where on our way back from Reno and at the border into California I was up shifting 1,2,3 and as I go into 4th it was jamed I pushed down on the clutch and it went straight to the floor on resistance at all pumped and pumped and still no resistance. Drove as far as I could in 3rd untill I hit traffic. I had to force the car in neutral and call a tow truck. Not cheap about 250miles of towing.

So now she's home. I got under her t check the slave out, no leaking or anything but looks like the push rod is at a angle. I unbolted the slave and pushed bk on the rod so all the fluid went bk into the master. Btw all the fluid was clean no dark colors or debris. Then I tried filling the slave up to bleed and I can not get the slave to fill up with fluid must of pumped the petal over 100 times still the resivor was full. Didn't even get air bubbles in the master resivor.
So is there sum thing wrong with the petal it doesn't seem to b adding any fluid to the slave. I dont know what to do at this point!!!!!!!..... She's been sitting for over a month now, I have a few days off finally and want to get her bk on the road again.

Where should I start now??!! Ggggeeeerrrrrrrrrr,

So I just was bleeding the slave by gravity adding dot 3 to the resivor n haven it drip out the Bleed screw closed the bleed nut and pushed on the push rod to get any remaining air bubbles out. Then bolted it back on and tried starting her up. But I am still haven the same problem I can get it into gear when the cars off but not when I turn it on. The clutch petal feels a bit better after bleeding tho!

So buy both from napa? Y do these parts go bad so fast 4-5 in a year? That's crazy! Did u use the same brand every time.? R they all made the same..???

The previous owner put the clutch in, he's a mechanic and a friend..... He didn't say he saw smoke when the clutch went out... I'd ask him for help but he's outta state now.
Should I bleed the system b4 I replace any parts?

Thanks for the info!

Ok so I am a brand new corvette owner, I bought the Vette 6 months ago, and I love it!!! Originally I got the car as a investment, considering the engine was in great shape just needed interior work and some body and paint. But after doing the interior and getting paint there is NO way I will ever sell this car! Handles like nothing else I've driven b4!

The other day I was driven home and I tried to shift into gear and it felt like it was jammed had to force it into gear to get home ( wasn't far ).. I got home turned the car off and tried shifting, it worked fine. Started the car up in gear and it jumped. The clutch pedal is soo soft now it feels like there is no resistance anymore.

The clutch itself is under a year old but the previous owner didn't replace the master or the slave cylinder. I am guessing that it is one of these two but not positive so am going to change them both. My question is could it b anything else? Pilot bearing? I duno...

Had a quote for 300 for labor and 120 in parts, told me it was a 4 hr job. Is this true? 4 hours to replace the slave and master? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!
