I found someone who is willing to rebuild my non-functional original power antenna for a reasonable price.
Does anyone know if there is anything I can do to shorten it for shipping? It is (of course) stuck in the fully extended position. |

Do you know what's wrong with it? You can manuall extend and retract them using a 12V lead and a ground from the battery...but that will only work if the internals aren't physically keeping the antenna from retracting.

even if the internals are toast, you can help the motor drag it down.
If it's stuck up, and won't move, then I am betting on the clutch/drive being screwed. Otherwise, put it on a shelf and wait... or reach out to one of the radio restorer guys and see if they are interested. I know a few come to Carlisle... less shipping issues. |
