OK, so I've always dug the BRE racing Datsuns of the 70s.

And I was thinking I would ruin my super clean '89 Amigo...
Here's a Photoshop I did today. Sorry, could not just add [img] and get these to open in the post. I are dumb. What do you think?

I had a datsun that looked just like that except for the numbers on the side.
That thing would climb dirt hills like crazy.
In 82 I ran out of gas in Texas and when I came back thugs had beat it to a pulp with ball bats and hammers.
Funny thing is my almost best friend was one of those the police said vandalized it.
I went down to Tx. to help out his family.
In court his mom said it was all my fault for running out of gas. Creeps.

They're called Amigo's over here. Made by Isuzu. Probably an Opel Fontera or something like that down undah.

Mine is an '89, which is the first year for them in the USA. Not sure about elsewhere. It has nearly 300,000 miles on the chassis. I bought it last November from the original owner. It is on it's third engine. The first and second engines each lasted about 150,000 miles. The one that is in there now has less than 10,000 miles on it. The interior is like new, and there are only minor dings on the body and original paint. It was stored in a heated garage.

Got it for $2,500, which is a lot for that kinda miles, but I have a huge binder full of maintenance receipts, and I could tell the truck was loved, so it seemed like a pretty good deal to me.

I enjoy driving it, but the 2.6 liter engine is pathetic. It can hardly get out of it's own way. I'd like to put another enging in there some day. Like a small V8. That would be so cool!

I would say go for it,that is a tough looking paint scheme on there and you'd have something special.
If I was buying one I'd rather have a unique one like that than a plain Jane.

No i mean the Dato, the others are called Holden Frontera, or Isuzu MU (mysterious utility). Opel is the European GM brand name

OH SWEET! Any pix? I don't remember the last time I saw a 510 bombing around. Been ages.

I sure wish somebody would make an entry level car with rear wheel drive, and let the aftermarket go crazy with hop-up parts. FUN FUN FUN!
