Hello again friends,My steering column has alot of up and down play in the steering wheel tilt.
I had this happen to me with a chevy truck I had and it was easy changing out the whole column.
I am watching an auction on ebay for a used steering column that came off an 84,but the seller says that it already has aproximately 1/8 inch of play already.
Questions.
1.How much harder is it to change out the whole column on an 84 Vette compared to a 91 chevy p.u.?
2.Should I be worried about the 1/8 inch play in the wheel of the new one, when it gets a little bit of play would it start getting worse fast and would it be worth 100.00 + 25.00 shipping?

Alot harder to replace, you dont have the same room to work with. What is a new one worth or new parts to rebuild your current unit?

That's a good question Case, honestly I didn't think that I had enough experience to tackle a rebuild(kinda chicken) and I'll go and check the price of a new one now.
Thanks for putting up with my questions.
y'all are me little extra reasoning sometimes.

Well what you could do is get the used one, put it in your car, recondition the one that comes out of your car, then put it back in, then recondition the other one as well, and sell it as fully rebuilt.
