I think I need more power....

Currently:

Arc Audio Ks300.4 (90x4) powers all the speakers

the rear speakers are Elemental Designs EU700, they give me enough bass, I have one in each stock location

fronts are:

CDT, EF6, CL4 and TW24 using the CDT ES/HD300 3-way crossovers.

TW24 and CL4 are in the stock location, EF6 is in the door. the 2 in the OEM spot are sort of aimed up towards the driver.. as much as I could.

these set-up worked decently in the 89 I had.. (with the 91) interior. but the sound in this car was not the same.. turns out I am not powering the 3 ways enough, I disconnected the rears and bridged the amp for the front.. Big improvement, I did switch it back as I have no low end that way. so I need to decide if I should sell the Arc and find a bigger 4 channel or buy a second amp..

if I do 2 amps, do to them being displayed I would like them to match.

Or give up and go back to stock.. LOL

I have an Elemental Designs Nine.2 in the house (my 89 had 2 Nine.2x amps)

so I could find another Nine.2 or a Nine.4 and they would match (nine.4 would be if I decide to go active and a 2 way)

find another ks 300.4 or 300.2 ( but they are a bit more $$) but nice amps

Dunno what to do or what would be the best

I agree, as I read your post, the first thing that hit me was that 90w wasn't going to be enough to feed the 3-ways properly.

I would get a matching amp, then use one channel, bridged, to each side and do the same for the subs. Done is done.

yeah eihter the KS300.2 or 300.4 would work

Arc lists the 300.4 as 350x2 (bridged) @ 4 ohms.. the 300.2 is only 180x2 @ 4 ohms

both look the same and are of the same foot print. I also inquired on a Nine.5 (100x4 and 600x1) which would work well too and be one piece.. then sell the Arc.

I do like the Arc, need to see if I can get a second one for a reasonable price

yeah.. I guess 2 amps will be best

Although I just bought a new condenser for the AC (got a parallel flow one) so I have to deal with the stereo as is a bit longer

Had another thought..

Since the 4" and Tweet are right next to each other, I could ditch the 3 way Passive, run the Tweet and 4" with a 2-way passive on 2 channels of the Arc, then use the other 2 channels for the midbass (EF-6) in the doors.

then install my eD NINe.2 and use that for the EU 700 Woofers I have.. and call it a day. I think that could work. I would need to come up with a Bandpass for the EF-6 though
