Good Morning CGs!

Still cool here but not terribly called because the sun is out. A lot of the snow has melted.

TB - sounds like you're making good progress. At least it's not plumbing, right?

Gris - I really don't like politics but have you followed the newest thing here for Illinois? Trump commuted the sentence for our former Governor Rod Blagojevich. At first I couldn't figure out why Republican Trump would do that for a Democrat but if you dig a little deeper you'll see that Blagojevich was tied up with the current Democratic governor during the scandal prior to him becoming governor.... Sounds like a birdie is going to sing.

Hope everyone has a great day!

If you replaced the ecm you should have transferred your prom from the original.

Good Morning CGs!

Cold here in Chicago. Even sitting in the house last night we felt cold...brrrr.

Neighbor told me she needs a new caliper installed. I didn't get to inspect it yet. Not a bad job but it's special order from every store. Plus I want to replace both just in case so I need to talk to her about that. 135,000 miles so it's a good idea.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Marcus, condolences to you and your family. 97 is a good long life. Doesn't make it easier, regardless.

Gris, I ended up ordering the book you recommended. Cost me a while three bucks on eBay. Came in Saturday. Not sure if the RR has had a chance to read it yet. It will only take her an hour or two. She's a fiend.

The other day I picked up a few vintage Snap-on tools at a used tool shop. Dating back to the 1920s, real original stuff. On eBay if you'd like to see some pics:

Good Afternoon CGs!

Another couple of days have slipped by. Funny how that happens.

Tommy, how is she getting around at the nursery? Is she on crutches or does she have one of those carts that you rest your knee on? I'm assuming from your post she can't put much weight on it at all.

Marcus - any Honda updates?

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

I'm not a football fan but I hope your team won if you were watching the game. I heard it was a pretty good comeback.

Yesterday was beautiful here about 54° before it cooled back off at night. Today the sun is out again and it's cool but tolerable.

I saw a lot of Corvettes and motorcycles out yesterday. Definitely a good day to cure your cabin fever.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Chilly here in the land of Lincoln. Speaking of Lincoln, he'd probably be turning over in his grave right about now. Although honestly I don't think politics have changed that much in a hundred years. And on that same topic my daughter is a huge fan of our 16th president. We took the kids to Springfield in the beginning of the summer. They have a very nice historic area dedicated to him. We got to tour his house. Unfortunately we didn't have time to visit all the museums and other things. We plan on going back and possibly doing an overnight trip. Maybe this upcoming summer. The daughter is a huge historical fiction reading fan and loves anything having to do with history. #2 likes it as well but not as much.

Letty, hope the nose-arrhea is improving.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Yes, they work great. There are a few different styles. One looks like a genie lamp but I prefer the squeeze bottle type. You can get it for about $12 at the drugstore. If you buy the one from the drugstore it will include some saline rinse packets or you can just use table salt. They make some really expensive electric versions as well.

I use mine everyday.

Hope you feel better.

Good Morning CGs!

Some snow flurries in the air but nothing really sticking. Didn't stop some woman from driving through a street light pole this morning in front of the school. Luckily no one seen hurt.

The wonder dog is off getting groomed. A haircut with a bath and a nail trim. It's $50 and we give her a $5 tip. She does a really nice job. Not inexpensive but worth it. A shih tzu has hair that grows like a human's. We bathe him at home once a week and he gets a haircut every 6 weeks. Sort of like Tommy. A bath once a week but a haircut about every six months.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Weather is cold here. Not sure what changed but I had a massive sinus headache and I couldn't sleep last night. Woke up pretty groggy. Feel better today but tired.

Good Evening CGs!

The bike is looking good there Marcus. How much longer?

The weather idiots said we were going to get six inches of snow last night. Instead we got 8 hours of rain. No complaints from me because you don't have to shovel rain. Started raining again this afternoon and there's a little bit of snow mixed in with it. But the ground is so wet nothing is sticking right now. Hopefully it doesn't turn into ice later.

It's been a slow month for me selling tools but hopefully that picks up in February. Once the initial shock of the first after-Christmas credit card bill has worn off people will be buying again.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Good Afternoon CGs!

We got some snow overnight. Heavy and wet. I cleaned that up with the snowblower but was having trouble with the chute gear / handle not working. Pulled it apart and luckily it was just a quick adjustment and back in business. I also ordered a new scraper bar for the bottom. Right now it's pretty worn out and I loose some snow from underneath which makes me have to follow up with a shovel to get the drive clean. This should fix that. But for an early 90s vintage Honda snowblower I have no complaints about the thing.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Cold here. Gas prices are going up for some unknown reason (as usual). Luckily I filled up the other day when it was $.40 less a gallon.

Marcus, let's see some progress pictures of the Honda.

TB - nice picture from the medal ceremony. As far as the Windback tool, go get the set from Harbor Freight if you have one close.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Cold here as well.

Tommy, hope the pig is feeling better. Ask Marcus what they would do out in his neck of the woods...I'm thinking it would be a bacon breakfast the following morning.

Speaking of feeling better, RR#1 went back to school today after being off sick for the last two. Tis the season.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Happy birthday TB!

I looked outside and apparently it's still winter. Oh darn. I'll take some of that 80 degree weather Tommy was talking about.

I've had a cold for the past couple of days with a lot of head congestion. Now RR#1 is home from school with a sore throat and a cold of some sort. Great. Hopefully it passes quickly.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Evening CGs!

I'm still alive and kicking. Unfortunately with my work schedule and the kids and everything else I don't check in as much as I should. And not being Corvette weather puts a damper on things. I did get to visit sleeping beauty the other day when I was at my mom's house doing some little jobs.

I'm ready for driving weather to start. I'll probably be switching my car over to antique vehicle plates this year. No reason other than they are cheaper since the state just raised the price of our passenger plates as of January 1st. Gotta love Democrats.

Tommy, I'm taking you up on the offer to drive the 911. Always wanted to.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Can't believe we're a week deep already. Time flies when you're having fun. At&t guy just left. Home phone wasn't working with the new router they sent. It was a switch issue with the home office but he had to redo a couple of wires in the basement for a better signal.

Tommy, they legalized recreational marijuana here on 1/1. I'm not a fan of that but my opinion doesn't matter. Medical I agree with. Oh well.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Good Morning CGs!

Happy New Year's Eve to everyone.

Already did some tool buying this morning, I have some tool selling to do later. Lots of listing slated for this afternoon, too.

Right now I'm at the library with the kids. The library puts on a lot of little events, this is a new year's party for the kids with a ball drop and countdown at noon. Pretty neat idea. They have snack and games and everything necessary to keep the kids occupied.

Later were taking the kids to the movies. We're not the young party animals we once were.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Evening CGs!

Cold, cold, cold here. I was spoiled with those nice temps the past week. We've got a little bit of snow action but nothing sticking.

Picked up a small snap-on box the other day to flip. So I've got that listed along with some other bigger ticket items. I've got some more stuff coming in the mail this week. Terrible time to be a seller but great time to be a buyer. Gotta stock up.

Hope everyone had a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Another warm day here (after a brisk day yesterday). I went outside and took down the Christmas lights off the roof and gutters. Perfect weather for it. Usually it's the end of January in 20* temps freezing my.....fingers off. No wife and no kids today so I also tidied up the house and now I'm getting ready for a workout.

Bob, hope you feel better.

TB, super cool of you to do that shadow box.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

I apologize that I was missing for the past couple of days. Holiday time is family time and I didn't get online too much.

That being said we had a wonderful Christmas surrounded by family. The kids were very lucky and got a lot of gifts. No complaints as far as I know.

We've also been enjoying the 50+ degree weather with no snow. It's supposed to cool off now from what the weatherman says. Oh well.

John, it's belated but I'm terribly sorry to hear about your brother. As hard as it is alone, being around the holidays makes it worse. Your family is in my thoughts.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Good Morning CGs!

John, sorry to hear about the passing of your friend.

The boy is still sick. We had him in the ER at midnight last night after his fever refused to come down with Tylenol and hit 104.1. A little too high for our comfort. Still not strep throat, doctor said the same thing: it's a virus and might last a few more days. Great. So he's home from school today.

TB, congrats on the sale. Hope the other one is up and running soon.

hey Tommy, yesterday my brother-in-law was showing me a picture of a house his friend is building in Florida. A huge mansion built completely out of cinder block. Is that pretty normal?

Good Morning CGs!

The boy is still sick. Just got off the phone with the doctor's office and waiting to see what they want to do.

Now that TB is retired he's going to open a business:

TB's smoked meats, pastries, auto repair, cabinet building and installation, drywall, CNC cutting, but not plumbing warehouse.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Evening CGs!

RR#2 is sick. He missed school today along with a trip to the doctor. Apparently a nasty virus going around with the elementary aged kids.

Had to get a new phone today. The old one lasted a hair over two years. It was maxed out with storage space but to top it off the speakers quit working. Hard to make a phone call that way. T-Mobile had a BOGO promo so the BIL each got a new phone and split the cost.

Hope everyone had a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Ahhhhh TB, the annual beirock bonanza. I'm still amazed by how many of those you guys pump out every year.

Gloomy with rain here this morning. Warmer than I'd expect, though. It's not snow so I'm not complaining.

The Honda is due for an oil change. I get that done at the dealer for now. At least until the hundred thousand mile warranty is up. After that I'll do it myself. Currently sitting at about 62,000 miles. I just did the transmission fluid drain and fill the other day. Honda recommends that every 30,000 miles. I do it at 20 and there's definitely a difference in shifting. Same with air filters and other basic maintenance. The dealer does oil changes and recalls/warranty work.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Everyone must be sleeping in today!

I was up, sold some tools, took the dog for a walk, and now it's time for lunch.

What does everyone have planned for later?

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Afternoon CGs!

A little cooler today but not bad in the sun. Temps will start dropping shortly. No snow, so no complaints.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Furniture people, please explain. I would have walked on by this without noticing anything unusual.

It was originally a standing dining room China cabinet / buffet. They either separated it (if two pieces) or cut it in half. Bottom got a counter top, top was hung on the wall.

Sorry to hear about your microwave / electrical fiasco there TB. But hey, at least it wasn't plumbing.

I had a day full of errands and what-nots today.

The wife and I went to the cell phone store because we are finally caving in and getting a cell phone for the oldest. She is 11 now. The in-laws said they would buy her the actual phone for Xmas. So we got to the store and they were having a good promo. Since we were adding a line she got a $250 phone for free. We also got to add a second line that is absolutely free on the plan. We weren't planning on it but we know we will get a phone for the other rugrat next year. The sales guy was really nice and explained everything to us. He told us it was a good idea to get it now and even if it's just it's in the box it's not costing us anything. Basically you get a SIM card that is activated and when you are ready to use it just pop it in the phone.

Hope everyone had a great day!

I sell quite a bit...it supports the collecting habit.

And an early happy birthday to you!

Mostly drink beer and polish them. Sometimes a kids toy breaks and I get to use a pair of pliers or screwdriver.

Good Morning CGs!

The first day of the last month of the year. Wow. I saw a comment the other day....it said this will be the last time most of us will see a year ending in the teens for the rest of our lives. Wild.

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Enjoyed some leftovers today. Twice, in fact. Of course now I'm craving a bacon cheeseburger....at 10 pm. Oh well.

Tommy, sounds like Sue is on the fast road to recovery.

I don't have the fsm in front of me, there might be a wiring diagram. Otherwise a simple test for 12v should tell you if you have power to the module.
