Good Afternoon CGs!

Sorry, been busy this past week. Finally have a few days to rest.

Nice here, we've had a heat wave in the low 40s which is a nice change from 9*. Almost convertible weather...

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Wow, February already? Hard to believe.

Took two of the Camaro rims off and brought them to discount tire yesterday to get remounted and balanced to fix a bead leak. One of the problems with older chrome rims is they will flake or corrode and it doesn't seal correctly. So the guy redid the one and said it might still leak a little but it's better. Then he showed me a nice crack in the second rim. Wonderful. These rims are pretty rare and hard to find so luckily I was able to take it to a local guy that does alloy rim welding and he said he could fix it no problem. He just called me to say it's ready. So at least I lucked out on that. Normal price is $160 but he's a friend of a friend so he's doing it for half. All these cars take is time money and patience right?

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Hard to believe it's the last Sunday in January already.

We've had some more of the cold white stuff flying around the sky and landing on the ground. Can't say I'm a fan. I'm ready for spring. 25* today and 12* tomorrow. Oh joy.

RR#2 has a birthday party to attend today. Just found out about it yesterday so they will be gift shopping soon.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Evening CGs!

Cold here. All of the rain from last night turned into ice overnight. Didn't affect me but made for some rough commutes and a lot of accidents.

Weekend is almost here. Can't wait.

Hope everyone had a great day!

Good Afternoon CGs!

Got about 3" of snow dumped on us last night. Wet and heavy. Got that shoveled this morning and it's been raining since then. The roads are pretty clear as a result but worried they might freeze up later. Hopefully there's enough salt down to prevent that.

Letty, you always seem to be busy with the graphics. Maybe you need an assistant?

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Some light snow here to start off the day. Nothing to shovel yet. I threw down some salt and that should take care of it for a while.

Gris, hard to say on the car. Hopefully that helps.

Hope everyone has a great day!

No, no, Marcus.... you haven't changed a bit, it's those darn kids just got tougher to deal with

Gris, what was the cause of the no start?

Tried to post a picture of the new interior yesterday but it wouldn't load so here it is.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Afternoon CGs!

Got the seats installed yesterday and they look good. I'm happy with how they turned out. Katskin makes some nice covers.

Was supposed to do a brake job on mom's car today, she said the brakes were making noise. Did an inspection and there is absolutely nothing wrong, pads at 75-80% life. Good for a few more years at least.

Have to head to the inlaws later and change the gas valve solenoid on the dryer since it's working intermittently. Cheap part, easy fix if you can do it yourself.

Hope everyone has a great day!

TB, glad the surgery was a success.

VB, congrats on the sale. One less thing to worry about.

Started working on the seats last night. Had to grind the seat tracks brackets and hit them with some rust converter. Did a quick coat of black over that this morning. A trick I saw on TV to help the paint adhesion and drying is preheat the surface with a heat gun and then use some light coats and dry them immediately with the heat gun. Seemed to work. Guess we'll find out.

Tommy, I do find myself thinking about Brad and Bill from time to time. Definitely miss them on the page here.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Afternoon CGs!

Hope the surgery went well TB. Luckily that seems to be a common surgery that they've perfected so should be a success.

Picked up the seats from the upholstery shop this morning. They look good, I'm happy. For the price I paid I better be happy lol.

Since we're on the topic of cars does anyone have $105,000 I can borrow for a new E-ray?

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Afternoon CGs!

Happy birthday, TB.

Got the seats pulled out of the Camaro last night. Quick job, no surprises. I dropped those off at the upholstery shop this morning. Should have them back next week. Saw the covers and they definitely feel and look better than what was on there. Looking forward to seeing it done. I vacuumed the carpet and have to shampoo it today. Always something to do.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Somewhat nice day out there. I've got the itch to drive some sports cars. Takes a lot of restraint not to. Camaro seats should go to the upholstery shop this week.

Marcus, sorry to hear about your insurance woes. Hope it works out.

Tommy, sounds like a long road to Rockford Sue. Hope it goes smoothly.

Tommy good luck to the wife. Hope this fixes the nerve issues. Of course no surgery can fix the major nerve issue....the fact that you get on her last one.

TB, bed looks great.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Cooled off here from the unseasonably warm temps. Got a little dusting of snow overnight. Nothing even worth shoveling since most of the pavement was still wet from rain.

Kids are back to school today. RR#2 was not happy about that. He's not a big fan of school. Never has been, never will be. RR#1 is upset that she starts a new semester and her class changes and she might not have any friends in there. I told her she'll be fine. Glad I'm not a teenager anymore.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Still no snow on the ground so 23 is going well for me. As far as phones I'm addicted to mine. But when I'm on vacation up north and it doesn't work I don't miss it. Could be all the chores I'm catching up on. Speaking of chores finished up repairing the window casing that was damaged from the kitchen water leak. Never a dull moment.

Taught three TKD classes tonight. My feet are a little sore, time to relax.

Hope everyone had a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Happy New Year to everyone. I wasn't online much yesterday I spent the weekend with the family.

I'm out walking the dog now and it's like a spring day. It's absolutely amazing here. If winter were like this every year I wouldn't mind Chicago so much.

I had some time the other day to finish up the radio installing the Camaro with my Christmas gift. The new bezel and mounting kit. That turned out nice. I did not do the backup camera yet I'll just have my buddy do that. I hate electrical LOL.

Gris, rr#2 got a new set of wireless headphones for christmas. I told him now he can wear those when he's cutting the grass. He wasn't very enthused with that...haha.

Hope everyone has a great day!

A little cooler here today with no sun but still better than a few days ago. Still no snow so no complaints there.

Little warm spell gave me spring fever. I'm ready to get the cars out. Oh well. Guess I have a few more months for that.

60 and rainy today which washed away all of the snow. I can deal with that kind of December weather.

Good Morning CGs!

Tommy had the right idea about Christmas gifts. I pretty much but what I want / need throughout the year. I bought two car parts for myself in November/December and handed them to my wife to wrap up. Easier that way.

Hope the family feels better soon, TB. Son had it two weeks ago and wife had it as well shortly thereafter. I didn't get it (not that I know of) and daughter had it in May but no one else was affected. Go figure.

A little warmer today and the snow is melting. I'm ok with that.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

It's definitely been a chaotic week leading up to Christmas. Hopefully now we can relax a bit. Kids were spoiled again this year. I got a couple of new goodies form the cars, a set of visors for the Corvette and a stereo mount kit for the Camaro. Can't go wrong with that.

I'm on vacation this week so I get to spend time with the kids. Probably watch a movie today and relax.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Still dealing with some nasty cold weather here. Single digits but at least it's not negative Likes it's been the last few days. Next week will be 50. Go figure.

Shopping and whatnot is all done. Traditional dinner tonight at my in-laws' house. Christmas Day will be tomorrow at BIL and SIL's house. Should be a nice time.

Gris, I thought the best part of hearing aids was you could turn them off when you didn't want to listen anymore....

Back on the topic of help wanted signs...stopped at the gas station on the way home from work (same chain, down the street). Their sign says $19.25/hr plus extras. Went in to buy something and the only clerk was no where to be found. Finally came out from the back. Guy came in after me and wanted $20 on his pump. She told him to go to the self pay kiosk and do it himself. Made me scan my own purchase, too. Not kidding. So that's worth $19.25/hr?? We were both dumbfounded.

Snowmageddon is apparently coming. Now calling for 16" on Thursday and Friday. We'll see.

VB, I like the idea of the plastic. Almost like a three season room.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Wifey is still feeling under the weather. Hopefully better soon.

Speaking of weather there's supposed to be a nasty storm front this week that should affect us Midwestern states. Oh joy.

Sign on the gas station door by the house - now hiring, $18.50/hr, $1.00 shift bonus, weekly pay bonus, and free lunch when you work. And still can't find anyone. Sheesh.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Sorry I've been out for a bit again.

RR#2 had covid again last week. Now the wife has it. It's hitting her a little harder. RR#1 had it in May so we think she's ok. I'm feeling fine. Wife is quarantining herself for the most part. Hopefully minor in the long run.

I think I mentioned the other day the kitchen sink hose sprung a leak. Great. No one sticks a replacement hose so I ordered one. Arrived yesterday and it's no good....wtf. Have another new hose on order and should be here Monday. We'll see.

Had the first real snowfall of the year the other day. Hate it already. Tommy, you have a guest bedroom?

Hope everyone has a great day!

Thanks for the plumbing tips guys. I'm sure they would work just fine but I went ahead and ordered a new hose just in case.

RR#2 has belt testing tonight. Should be fun for one of us (not him) haha.

Good Morning CGs!

Kitchen faucet was acting strange lately. Turn it on and a little shot of air would come out before the water. Strange, never did that before and shouldn't happen on a pressurized system. Checked under the sink today (had to pull out everything) and found a 1/2" of standing water and a damaged cabinet...ugh. The flexible sprayer line developed a pinhole leak and was spraying every time we used the faucet. The hose is now out but of course it's a Kohler so no one stocks it. Trying to get a replacement now. Wish me luck.

Hope everyone has a great day!

It's been cold, overcast, and rainy the past few days. But no snow so I'm not complaining. Still haven't put the snow tires on the Honda. Probably should do that soon. Talked to a guy last night driving a 2022 Ridgeline. He said he loves it. I think in about 4 more years that's my next car once I get rid of the accord. Speaking of cars the wife paid hers off yesterday. We still had a year left but no sense in paying interest on something when we can afford to pay it off.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Letty, sorry to hear about the doggo. Never easy.

Speaking of tires I made a 6 hour round trip to pick up new (used) rims and tires form the Camaro. I wanted the chrome 10 spokes (similar to C5 Z06 rims) that came on the car from SLP in 2000-2002. Pretty tough to find and these were a great deal. So the drive was worth it.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Cold is the word of the day. Not sickness related but it sure makes me sick. 18* as it sits. No snow right now, though. I did stock up on salt the other day in preparation so probably won't need it for a while. You're welcome.

Was warm and sunny this morning. Now it's overcast and starting to cool off. I could go for some of Tommy's 80* weather.

Checked over the car yesterday. Needs all new radiator hoses including heater core hoses. Of course those are the expensive molded ones with metal brackets and cost $100 for the set. Go figure. Apparently bulk hose for $1.99 a foot isn't good enough.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Well we have the two Hondas as our dailies. Then the 02 Corvette, 01 Trans Am, 01 Camaro, 88 Mustang. The Corvette and TA are on and under the lift. I parked the Camaro in garage for now but it will get moved over to my mom's garage this week. Mustang will be in her (oversized) driveway under a cover. Wife wants to be able to park her suv in the garage over the winter. Oh well.

Good Morning CGs!

Sorry, kept myself busy this weekend with kids and chores and errands and everything else.

Tommy, I think the new Corvette would suit you. It's hard to let go of the old favorites but what's wrong with downsizing to a vehicle you would enjoy more often?

Speaking of cars....I've been semi-silently in the market for another "younger me dream car" as you will. Guess it happened. Picked up this 2001 Camaro SS convertible on Sunday morning. Not a low mileage car but in relatively good condition and drives well. Needs a little TLC which I don't mind. And got a good deal on it so I'm happy.

That's it for me. Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Afternoon CGs!

Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. We had a small group, just 7 total. It was enjoyable and short.

RR#1 has her girlfriends over for a visit today. I call them the four musketeers. Good group of kids and I enjoy having them over at the house.

Tommy, what will Sue be coming home with? More animals likely.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. We will be having a small get together this year at our house. Us, in-laws, mom and her friend. BIL and SIL might stop by. I don't mind it this way. Less hassle.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Sorry I guess I lost a few days again. Time flies when you're having fun, right?

Gris, I was at the dentist the other day for the first time in 4-5 years. I was supposed to go earlier but COVID....ya know.

Been busy around the house and whatnot. Was at mom's house the other day and fixed some drywall. Need to make it back over there for a final sand. I have a long weekend off for Thanksgiving so I'll make that happen.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Cold here, Gurus. I don't like winter.

Wanted to check out a car today but the seller is a flake. Usually it's the buyers. Oh well.

Wow TB, great grand daughter. You're lucky you get to enjoy it.

Hope everyone has a great day!

I feel my age every day. It's when I feel Tommy's age that I have issues.

Good Afternoon CGs!

Colder than a witch's...well you know.

Went to the dentist this morning. First time I've been since precovid. Had a cleaning and need to follow up in a few weeks to have some fillings redone.

Went to mom's last night to patch a small hole in the ceiling. Got that fixed up and did a second coat today. That should be all it takes.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Got the Corvette washed and the tank filled with premium and stabil on Monday morning. Put the tender and cover on and it's asleep until next year. Good thing because we got snow last night. About an inch. I hate the stuff. Most of it's melting but it's still a reminder winter is here. I have a couple of last minute things to clean up in the yard but fall is officially over.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Happy belated anniversary to Andy and Tamiza.

Weather took a drastic turn here since the other day. 32* now and won't move much past that. I'll take the 70s back please.

Very nice work there, TB.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good evening CGs!

Had a beautiful day here, 73* Not sure if that's a record but it might be. Did some errands and made dinner for the kids. Took RR#1 for a ride after she finished pep band for a basketball game. Probably the last of the year.

Hope everyone had a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Kids have off school today for elections. They opted to spend the night at Baba and Dziadek's house. Baba is babysitting my niece so the kids will help for the morning and I'll pick them up a little later.

Letty, congratulations on the new car. Great color. The interest rates are crazy, though. The one mortgage place by my house is advertising 7.05%. Sounds familiar from when I bought my house back in 06.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Afternoon CGs!

On a non political side....bil made smoked brisket yesterday and brought some over. It was delicious. Made a brisket sandwich with some bbq sauce and pickled onions.

That is all.

Hope everyone has a great day!
