Good Afternoon CGs!

Happy Birthday Marcus!

Beautiful 77* here today. Took RR#2 out for some driving practice today.

Might get a chance to tinker with the Corvette today. I need to fix the AC which I believe is a leaking schrader valve. I got a fancy tool for Christmas to swap it out so maybe that'll work.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Cool here today but supposed to warm up tomorrow (for one day). Maybe it will be convertible weather.

Hope everyone had a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

That was a good movie with the brilliant Robin Williams.

Glad you got a bite on the nursery, Tommy. Very sorry to hear about the health complications. I know you planned on selling some cars to make room for the new cars...what did you end up keeping / selling?

Gotta be careful with these new cars, Letty. Every one will do 100+ with no effort before you even notice it.

We had rain yesterday afternoon and it's cold today. Supposed to get more rain this week but warm up a bit.

Apparently they are fixing the water main on our street. No water. Our notice was a knock on the door at 9 am. Street was marked the last 6 weeks so maybe they knew ahead of time? Sheesh.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Was mid 70s and beautiful yesterday. Cool today. Rain this week. At least it should wash the salt away from the snow last week. Then I can start driving the cars again.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Wild weather here. Had 72* last week then hail, them tornadoes, then rain, then 4" of snow all in the course of a week. Lots of damage from the hail in the area. Luckily our brand new roof didn't get damaged nor did the cars. But the videos and pictures on Facebook were pretty wild.

Letty yesterday a guy with a pickup pulling a trailer made a left out of a parking lot right in front of me while I was doing 45 mph. Not a care in the world. Glad I was paying attention. Some people just don't care.

Hope everyone has a great day!

That's why my phone stays on mute most of the time.

Tommy has his own version of phone mute, it's called can't hear it ring.

Had to make an "emergency" dental appointment today. I was eating last night and the side of my molar cracked off. I've never heard of such a thing. Dentist said it is common due to the bite pressure strength of the jaw. He said he often sees it from people eating almonds. Go figure. But I'm all fixed up now and ready to eat some almonds.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Marcus, Polaroids were expensive so you couldn't waste the film. Nowadays every kid has an iPhone that takes 4,000 photos and stores them inside. But on top of it they upload every single video they have of them stealing Grandpa's marie callendar pie out of the refrigerator and then post that evidence online. Don't let Tommy see it.

Cold here. Yeah.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Good Morning CGs!

It's funny that Tommy said he had some archived pictures. I say it's funny because today's generation documents everything with photos and videos. The problem with that is that it never disappears. Once it's out there it never goes away. When I was a kid we didn't document our stupidity. Nobody knows the dumb stuff we did. It lives on in our minds and memories. Sometimes it's better that way.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

The week is flying by and for that matter the month is flying by.

Took advantage of the nice weather this week and changed the oil in the Camaro. That was a driveway job since the Corvette is up on the rack. Got that done without much fuss. Good until next year.

Weather is back to normal now. Cold and windy and expecting snow flurries later. Can't be too spoiled with nice weather in February.

Glad you're enjoying the cars, Tommy.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

I have to get to my tax paperwork eventually. I'm not in a hurry.

I agree on the OEM stuff. The problem with Amazon is the counterfeits. You can order a part you think it authentic but it's not. I've also ordered factory appliance parts by number and gotten aftermarket...a little swap they hope you won't notice if you're unsuspecting.

Is it spring yet?

Hope everyone has a great day!

Gris - that's pretty much it. It's imaginary, just stored in cyberspace essentially. It's worth something because someone said it's worth something. Makes sense, right?

A bit overcast today but it's not snowing and it's not negative temps. Still waiting for spring. Hopefully soon.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Chipping away at February already.

We've had a heat wave here, upper 20s. Almost top down sports car weather. Maybe tomorrow.

There was a pretty heinous murder here yesterday. Lady (owner) opening up the bar for lunch and a scumbag walked in the joint and robbed her. After she gave him the money he assassinated her. Luckily he's already in custody. Hope he burns for it.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Evening CGs!

Tommy I was watching a video yesterday of a guy in Florida who hunts pythons. He just walks up and grabs them. I can only assume he kills them, he doesn't say. But he said they're invasive. Seems pretty knowledgeable and he points out and identifies tons of other animals, as well.

Cold here but I think it hit 27 today with the sun out.

Glad to start a new month. At least if it's a bad one it's the shortest.

Hope everyone had a great day!

Good Afternoon CGs!

Still bitter cold here. They are threatening us with a few inches of snow today. Great. I haven't had enough.

I'm definitely over winter. Can it just be spring again?

I was looking at cars last night like I usually do. A dealer near me has a 2001 Camaro convertible 6 speed with 108k. It's a red SS with the tan interior. They are overpriced at 13.5. I really want a six speed as opposed to my auto but I don't think it would make sense money wise. I've put some money into mine with the interior and wheels and everything else. Just pipe dreams at this point I guess.

How has the new car been Tommy?

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Terrible weather here, as well. Was -7 friday, 7 yesterday, and about 7 right now. A few inches of snow on the ground with more expected during the day. Oh joy. Guess it's not sports car weather.

Wish I had more room to work in the garage but it's just storage at this point.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Surprisingly the forecast is not 75 and sunny. Still trying to figure that one out.

I've been following out of state property prices for a while now. Trying to make plans for the (much further down the road) eventual retirement. But the prices have doubled and tripled in some of the areas I'm looking (TN and KY mostly). Hard to believe it's gotten that insane. I'm not sure if it will stay like this or there will be another bubble pop. Guess time will tell.

VB, good luck with the musical battle. Maybe it's time to pump some easy listening through those speakers. I'm sure they'd love that.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

More ridiculous cold weather here. Like Marcus's wife, mine also believes the only cure is warm sandy beaches. Well son of a beach that's an expensive trip during the winter. Guess we're stuck here. We can't all afford to run out and buy two new cars at the drop of a hat.

Marcus did you get the EBCM out and sent off?

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Cold cold cold here. A bit of snow on the ground.

Marcus I haven't heard of the AFM disablers for the Chevy trucks, only the full delete kits. Hopefully it works out. I need to get that for my Ridgeline. It's subtle but there is a noticeable vibration when it kicks in.

Tommy, there are worse things in life than being retired, owning a business, a house, a Porsche, a Corvette(s), gambling, going on cruises, going to concerts, and whatever else you do with your turtles and pigs. I guess it's not a bad thing to look forward to.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Hard to believe the month is half over. We had a few nice days where the temps warmed up and now it's back to the teens and snow and ice. Oh joy.

Good luck with the EBCM, Marcus. Luckily you have one of the years that can be fixed. The earlier years are non-repairable once they go bad. I've seen people converting them over to non-abs cars to get rid of the problem.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Unfortunately caught the flu from my daughter. I'm banished to the bedroom with orders to stay away from everyone. Sounds great but the isolation isn't.

It was 60* and raining yesterday and when I woke up this morning there was snow on the ground. Not sure how that works.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Afternoon CGs!

Hopefully everyone had a nice and enjoyable Christmas with family. We had a huge meal with way too much food. Fresh goose, prime rib, ham, goulash, and tons of sides. Kids got a bunch of presents. My haul included mostly detailing products and some tools. No complaints although I don't really want or need much.

Marcus, the headlight gears aren't too bad of a job. Helps to have some various sized sockets and wrenches. You'll need a torx screwdriver (T15 or T20 can't recall) for the headlight bucket covers. Let the super glue sit overnight before you reinstall. You'll see what I mean once you get it all apart.

Good Morning CGs!

The weather is fluctuating quite a bit here. It's warmed up from the minus 12 wind chill we had. Upper 30s right now which feels like a heat wave. It rained quite a bit overnight which helped remove the vast majority of the snow that we got last week. No complaints here. But it's wreaking havoc on my sinuses.

Marcus - you are going to run into more problems with the alternator for the C5. The C5 has about seven different alternator part numbers depending on the year and manual vs auto. There are different internal components depending on the year. And if you use the wrong one it will give you a voltage or charging error on the dashboard. The problem is that the parts stores sell them all as 97 through 04 with no distinction between them.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

You know that four letter word that starts with "C" and no one wants to hear? Yeah, it's cold here. 0 degree temps and even colder wind chills. Is it summer yet?

I was driving home tonight and thinking about driving the Corvette. I miss it already.

Speaking of Corvettes, Marcus you're better off listening to the wife. Friendly advice.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Cold but sunny here. We are expecting some single digit or low double digit temps this weekend. Can't wait. I could go for some "not-summer" Florida weather right now. Wife is hinting at a vacation but time is the biggest obstacle right now. Kids are always busy and work schedules never seem to align. Maybe a few days off is just what everyone needs.

Tommy, any nursery updates?

Hope everyone has a great day!

Cold here in IL. It rained today which cleaned up a little of the snow. But it's still everywhere I look. The weather experts are predicting a lot of it this year. We'll see.

Gris knows what today is. I'll allow him to introduce it.

Winter is here and I'm not happy about it. We got hit with 9" of snow the other day and it's still here. But now it's all nasty and the roads are covered with salt. Not exactly a Hallmark movie.

Have a christening to attend today. Can't say I'm looking forward to it but steak dinner sounds good.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Made it to the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals show yesterday here in Chicago. Great show with lots of great cars. Some neat Corvettes there but my favorite car of the show was a 56 bel air 2 door station wagon. It was a little modified but done just right. I don't have that kind of money so just have to look for now.

Weather is a little chilly but no snow so it's a Camaro day for me.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Well Marcus, too bad it's not an f body blower or I'd be interested. Can't do too much with a second Corvette blower.

Cooled off here after some beautiful weekend weather. I was spoiled for a few days, almost like I wasn't stuck in Illinois.

Speaking of that, I have been following a few real estate pages on Facebook. Mostly Kentucky and Tennessee. Prices have gotten astronomical in those states compared to what they used to be. The locals seem to blame it on the drugs and nuts coming from commifornia. The consensus seems to be the same...stay there and don't come to our state. I tend to agree.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Can you believe half the month is over? We'll be writing 2026 soon.

Marcus, sounds like the car is coming together nicely. What about the supercharger?

It has been beautiful weather here. The Corvette has been bathed and put away under the cover. I unfortunately found out that with the coilovers I installed the car didn't want to get up on the rack. I had to use some wood ramps. I will remedy that by raising the coilovers about a half an inch. Shouldn't be too much trouble.

Hope everyone has a great day!

I recently found out there's a barber school not too far from the house. $10 haircuts. I stopped in the other day and got a fresh high and tight. Brand new girl and she did a great job. Very time consuming because she spent a lot of time making sure it was right. I was happy and I'll go back again

Good Morning CGs!

A little warmer here today and also expected to warm up this weekend. They did dump salt on the road for the snow the other day so it will be a Camaro and not a Corvette day. Still need to wash the Vette to put it away. Should probably get that taken care of.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Gosh it sounds like everyone is taking spills lately. Hope everyone recovers quickly.

We had the first snow of the season last night. Enough to cover the ground. It's mostly melted now. Daughter's car wouldn't start this morning. I thought that was unusual because I replaced the battery 2 years ago. So I took that out and checked everything and it tests good. The terminal had a good bit of corrosion inside so I cleaned that off and all is well again.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Tommy, hope the wife's recovery is coming along well. Just don't cook for her and I'm sure she'll be fine

Weather is a-changin' here. Supposed to get some snow. We'll see.

We are supposed to have a little bday dinner for the wife today. Some ribs off the grill and whatnot. Should be nice. A few more days until the official day but you know how that goes.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Getting chilly here. I blew out the sprinkler lines the other day. Disconnected the garden hoses and blew those out yesterday. Wiped down the TA and got the cover put on it. It is supposed to snow tomorrow but warm up in the middle of the week again. I need to get a final wash done on the Corvette before I cover that up.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Chilly fall day here. I went out this morning and winterized the sprinkler system. Blew out all the lines and took off the backflow valve.

I'm not really a fan of the day like savings time switch oh well.

In Illinois politics, the Democrats passed a bill October 31st at 4:30 a.m. which implemented some huge new taxes to fund basically the Chicago Transit system. Luckily everybody from all over the state gets to pay for it now. Makes sense, right?

More yard work to take care of this afternoon.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Evening CGs!

TB - hope the knee is feeling better.

Marcus - if the price of the fuel pump didn't make your jaw drop, wait until you see the replacement procedure. Good luck.

Did the sewage pump at the in-laws today. The check valve / ball valve combo was also bad. Go figure. So new pump, new pipe, new valve. $600 all in. Come to find out the professional "plumber" installed a cheap azz regular 1/3 hp sump pump in the ejector pit. What?!?!? No wonder it failed. Let me just say I had more than one or two choice words for that guy. New zoeller 1/2 hp sewage pump installed should last another 15+ years.

Hope everyone had a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Sorry I've been MIA for a bit. Glad the site is up and working again.

It's cooled off considerably here. No more Indian summer. Cold and rain the last few days.

Corvette is up on the rack for now and I am driving the Camaro. Vette needs an oil change so I'll hopefully get to that this week. I did sort out my coolant leak from a few weeks ago. I suspected the water pump but after a pressure test it turned out to be loose connections under the expansion tank. A couple of turns on the hose clamps and good to go.

VB - I've used a few different spray detailers. Most seem to leave a little streaking at first. I just flip over the soft cloth and wipe it again. Just figured that's the way it is.

On a side note, if Tommy is streaking it might be more harmful to flip him over.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Afternoon CGs!

Another beautiful top down weather day here, sunny and 80*.

Letty, we have an above ground pool. Some people in this area will have a heater and run that April through October or so. Expensive to install and expensive to run since the kids never seem to use it.

My dream house has the hot tub that overflows into the pool, overlooking the lake, of course. Maybe once I'm big time like Tommy T-bone I can afford that.

Hope everyone has a great day!
