More expensive lessons ..... There has to be a better way. Like, you show us an aircraft that does what we want and we'll buy it. It's like going to GM and telling them you want to design a car. It's way cheaper to buy one off the lot. One with all the bells and whistles.

I laud the military for trying to consolidate their fleet... maintaining several different aircraft frames is expensive. Dealing with only 1 has proven to be good for the likes of southwest airlines.

However, when you try to make one that does the job of three? And then make effectively three versions?

I agree, the VTOL is a trick, and I question the need.
