Just curious:

I know that the 4+3 is part auto and part manual. I don't understand how it works.

Does it have a clutch and a torque converter?

Can you take me through the gears from a stop to a 70 MPH interstate cruise?

4+3 is a 4speed manual with overdrive. The over drive will engage in 2nd - 4th gear. Thus 4+3. The overdrive unit is a modified powerglide. The only time the powerglide is engaged id in OD. It is never free wheeling
