I just changed the fuel pump in my father-in-law's '88 Chevy truck the other day. It looked like it would be simple, but I broke off 1 of the strap bolts, 2 fuel lines, then another line toward the front just by moving it a little. RUST!!! The good news is 3 pieces of HD rubber fuel line, a handful of fuel injection style clamps and 5 gallons of gas was all it cost to fix. When I got the fuel pump out it looked pretty familiar. I changed the pump in my '89 vette to a 67gph this summer. I ended up putting the old vette pump in his truck and it plugged right in. It works like new!!! That is a rough job to do by yourself without a lift. I'm still sore.

I would think the 02 will be easier to do... less rust!!!!!

That's why I hate working on old cars from the rust belt... so nasty underneath.
