Last week, I needed some of the Amsoil syncromesh lube for my ZF6. It was last Saturday, so I emailed the guy who was closest and we arranged to meet on Sunday!

If you need Amsoil in a hurry, live near me, and our own Amsoil guy, RickAnthony isn't available, check out Danny Delp.

Great guy, I highly recommend him if you are in my area.

Hmm. I should give that a shot.

The pennzoil/GM synchromesh has always seemed a little thin for it and louder than the BMW oil was.

Have you tried either of those to compare to?

I have used the GM, and up until I drained it, the BMW fill. I just wanted to test the Amsoil. I am curious how it feels.

It is a 10-30 weight, but it is designed as a gear oil, not a motor oil.

I think I read the synchromesh is a 5-30, so it would be a bit thicker when its cold. The synchromesh just seems to thin when hot. Maybe I'll mix it 50/50 with castrol tws next time, lol.

I filled with the Amsoil syncromesh fluid:

It's price point is about the same as the Castrol TWS some have been using, but the oil is NICE. The box is quite, it shifts so very smooth... Butter like. I am VERY impressed with the quality of the stuff.

I also bought this pump... It kicks ass too!! So much easier to fill the gear box with this, and its better made than that junky orange thing.

I am slowly becoming an Amsoil convert.
