I am really liking Amsoil's gear oil.

Pappy the rear end is going to be Amsoil 75W-90 or Royal Purple Max Gear 75W-90. There is nothing wrong with the Mobil 1 75W-90 LS either....all these have the posi-trac additive already in it.....make sure you get the LS version of the Mobil 1.....don't quote me but 1.8 qts is what is needed......I will check that also....

The tranny fluid is going to be a Dexron 3 type and I hear you are not supposed to use the Dex VI version in your car...

This is for a Z06 6M but I don't think there would be any difference maybe someone else knows that......this guy likes the Red Line products for his car....

You may want to stick with the GM Syncromesh fluid on your early C5 6M.....There were some issues with running ATF in them it looks like...

ok she now has flushed clutch mater dot 3 new mobil 1 6.5 qts engine oil and now has 1qt 20 oz of mobil syn LS n diff. and now has shy of 3.5 qts dex III in tranny..all this readin i i cant membar how much tranny were posed to hold..seemd to take awmost a full gallon until i poured whats left in a qt bottle then had bout 20 ounces er over half qt left...so she ony tooks bout 3.5 er tad less evin..now ifn this rain sno storm passes i might git spring sumday n be able to drive the fuggan thang...next is new dex..ain sure ifn he changed it so i will that chit gits nasty as ages (hey like me heyhuh)

3 1/2 is about right if I remember...You put the new juice in until it starts to run out and that should be about 3 and a half......
