bogus C4 Corvettes with a Surge Tank - Read me!

The surge tank is where the rad cap resides on later C4s.

There is a rubber retainer/grommet that holds it in place on the right side. The retainer on mine has done turned into a hockey puck... hard as a rock.

I found a PCV grommet at O'Reilly's for like $4.00 that is a good alternative. It is HELP! brand part number 42054.

you will need to cut a 1/4" slice out of it (make it so the circle closes flat).

It is a bit thick, but it will hold the pin and you can't see it, so who cares if it is or isn't perfect... it is functional.

FYI: The GM part number is 14104595... I do not know availability.

*bookmarked* I'll check it out after I get a chance to see if I have a hockey puck ;-)

trying to reinstall... touch it, it falls out and down into the fender and you have to take it all apart to get it again, then you put it back into the hole and it falls again...

it gets annoying... and it tells me its done.

I am happy to report that my grommet is more flexible than I am.
