Phew, Christmas has been put away for another year - seems to take longer (and get heavier) every time.

Greetings! With few exceptions, we have spent New Year's Eve with the same group of friends for 50 years. We must be getting old. Meanwhile, it is a balmy 0 here at the moment, but but by Saturday it will be 40 - bizarre.

Have a healthy and prosperous New Year, Gurus!

Hidey-ho! Dreary day here to ring out 2018, seems kinda fitting. Snow and freezing rain later, so that will be fun. We're going out to dinner with a bunch of friends.

Great work, Matt!

Have a safe and festive New Year's Eve, Gurus!

Hidey-ho! Well, it is a more beautiful day than the weather geniuses had predicted - at least the sun is shining. For now. Meanwhile, today's outcome will determine my interest level in the NFL playoffs.

Enjoy your day, Gurus!

Greetings! We got my son a remote car starter for Christmas, so we're going to get that installed today. Since the high on Tuesday will be "near 5", I'm sure he will like that. Not sure what else is on the agenda, but I imagine I'll be informed of that later.

Have a good day, all!

Hidey-ho! Looks like I have a smidgen more snow to deal with this morning. We got a lot of rain yesterday - they said if it had been snow, we'd have gotten over a foot. So I won't bitch too much. Meanwhile, tonight and tomorrow Mother Nature will put the "frozen" back in "frozen tundra".

Have a good day, all!

Howdy! Look like I have a few inches of wet, sloppy snow to get rid of this morning. I wonder how long it would take me to clear the driveway with my heat gun....

Have a delightful day, Gurus!

Greetings! I got up way earlier than I intended, will have to compensate for that later. My brother-in-law is coming over later to install some baseboard trim that I haven't gotten around to - he is a handyman and has some downtime, so we figured we'd have him do it.

Continued mojo for your son, GRIS.

Have a good day, all!

Ho-ho-ho! We had a small gathering last night, way too much food and too many gifts. This afternoon we're going to my sister-in-law's for more of the same.

Good luck with your shindig, Tommy!

Merry Christmas, Gurus!

Ho-ho-ho! I'll have to give myself an F- on sleeping in today. I woke up at 4:30, and feel like I never really got back to sleep, so I got up about 6:45. I see a nap in my future.

Hope all the Gurus have a great Christmas!

Greetings! I struggled to sleep in this morning, but perseverance eventually paid off. There was a dusting of snow to clean up - looks like mid-week, I may have to get the heavy artillery out. Meanwhile, the Vikings have a half-time lead, after a mostly abysmal first half performance.

Enjoy your day, Gurus!

Hidey-ho! I put in an admirable sleep-in performance if I do say so myself. It is always rewarding to do something you're good at. Meanwhile, my wife is plotting a cosmetic makeover for her bathroom - it sounds like I am going to have to locate my wallpapering tools.

Letty, glad to hear you came out the other side in good spirits.

Have a great day, Gurus!

Greetings! It's Friday already - or at least I think it is Friday, since I put the garbage out. You'd have to add today's and tomorrow's high temperatures together to get to 60. But that's not too bad - we will still be above average. And isn't that what we all strive for? :P

Enjoy your day, Gurus!

Howdy! Another day where the morning has largely disappeared in a hurry - too much going on. I'll be off work (we'll see how long it takes for me to get sucked into some emergency) starting next week until the 2nd.

Have a good day, yawlz!

Howdy! Been busy as hell since the git-go, but on the bright side, the morning is disappearing at a rapid clip. And just think, in a few days, we will start getting a smidgen more daylight.

Continued mojo for your son, GRIS. Hope it all goes smoothly, Letty. And welcome back to reality, Tommy!

Have a good day, all!

Greetings! Looks like we are going to melt some more snow for the next couple of days - I imagine there will still be some left when Christmas rolls around. But the snowblower will be ready whenever the other shoe drops.

Have a good day, Gurus!

Hidey-ho! The sun is making an appearance again today. The last few days have been unseasonably pleasant, and while we deserve the respite, I'm sure we will pay for it eventually.

Howdy! I was up at the crack of 9 this morning, I must be slipping. Actually, I have to get cracking on cooking in a bit. I don't cook much other than grilling in the summer (I have been accused of using the smoke alarm as a timer), but I think I can handle this:

3-envelope pot roast:

Pot roast
1 envelope McCormick's brown gravy mix
1 envelope Hidden Ranch ranch dressing mix
1 envelope Good Seasons Italian dressing mix

Pour contents of the 3 envelopes into a 2-cup measuring cup and stir together, then fill measuring cup with water and stir. Place roast in crock pot, pour contents of measuring cup over roast, cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours. Serve with mashed potatoes.

We shall see - my sister says it is great. If it isn't, well, a lot of restaurants deliver nowadays.

Enjoy your Sunday, Gurus!

Howdy! We're gonna go over to my sister-in-law's and make lefse - good stuff. I am going to try to just drink beer and observe, we'll see how that goes (I already fulfilled my potato-mashing-and-mixing duties).

Enjoy your day, Gurus!

LOL @ GRIS

Howdy! They say it will be sunny tomorrow. I think it is like the sign I saw at a bar once that said "Free Beer Tomorrow". I will believe it when I see it.

Howdy! I'm planning for a lazy day here. I haven't gotten around to installing the shocks I bought for my wife's car, and I could probably do that, but I'm pretty sure I'll just think about it instead.

Have a good day, everybody!

Howdy! I got busy right away this morning, and stayed that way all day, down to a conference call right at the end. Then a little jaunt to run some errands, and it is finally time to relax.

Pearl Harbor is a sobering place, indeed - I'm grateful to have gotten the chance to see it.

Sorry to hear about your cousin, GRIS.

Glad you are continuing to improve, Tom.

Bon voyage, Tommy!

Enjoy what little is left of your day, Gurus!

Greetings! it will be a balmy 17 here today - ick. They keep saying it is going to warm up here in the next few days, probably to keep us from revolting.

Have a good day, Gurus!

Greetings! It's real nice here, if you're a big fan of cold and cloudy. We have PLENTY of that. Pretty soon I'm gonna have to start counting down to Puerto Vallarta time.

Mojo for a speedy recovery, Tom!

Have a good day, all!

Har! I know a guy who used a Sharpie and drew a dotted line, and "Do not cut below this line" on himself.

Greetings! The snow seems to have left us for the time being, replaced by cold. But at least there are rumors of sunshine, so that will be a nice change of pace.

Sounds like a fine sendoff, Tommy. Indeed, the cats are in good hands.

Surgery mojo, Tom!

Happy Birthday, GRIS!!

Have a good day, all!

Howdy! Looks like I'll have to get out there and clean up after the plow came by. Looking forward to that. Yessir.

Enjoy your day, Gurus!
