I have killed off the tail lights on my 92!

Over the last few weeks, the speedo has been acting up. Going off/on at will.

The other day, I whacked the dash and the speedo comes back.

And I promptly lose IP lights and marker lights!

After reading the FSM, I am pretty sure a wire on the IP harness is done...

fuses are all ok, I have headlights, turn signals and brake lights.

any other thoughts?

I have pulled the IP out and the headlight switch... I think I have found the cause.

The main connector to the headlight switch - 11 pins, uses 6 or 7... big red wire in, many smaller out... one orange wire, feeds tail lights and interior lights... oh, and the fogs don't work, either!. But, the interior lights are what triggers the fogs to come on in the first place, interesting.

However, the orange wire is fried. The connector is all corroded, there is melted plastic all over the pin.

I am guessing that when the last switch fried, it damaged the orange wire.

I am going to try and find a new pig tail.
