I have found only one TSB out twenty or so that apply that was actually executed on my car—that one is, of course, a doozy (fuel pipe return rattle/knock) that causes judges to think my car was "bubba'd up".

bandhead

Did the average Corvette owner even know that TSBs existed in the eighties? I'm beginning to think that I should just execute all the ones that apply ...

It is up to the dealer to apply TSBs...

And to be honest, most car owners don't know they exist today...

If you can get GM to honour them, go for it! Recalls, too.

A piece of trivia... A friend who worked at a Honda dealer would use a center punch on the VIN, which was stamped into the firewall. The little divot created was his way to marking the car that a recall was performed. I wonder how many other techs do that?

Andy,

Interesting ... some of the TSBs that apply to me do have specific instructions to mark a car as having the TSB performed. For example, my misfire/hesitation TSB proscribes a "Campaign Identification Label" that's supposed to go somewhere in an easily visible area on the radiator core support.

then other mfgs have similar codes...

The Honda one, as I thought about it, was specific as to which position to mark on the VIN...
