The electrical problems could be
caused by a bad ground. These cars
are notorious for ground
problems. Check & clean the grounds
you may have to pull the cluster
and clean the connection. If this
doesn't work it may need re-
conditioning. The low coolant light
I have no idea, my '85 doesn't
have one.
The howl from the rear end COULD mean
it is in bad shape but check the fluid level
first. If the car was raced or just abused
then it may be time for a new ring
& pinion.

I'll give you the standard answer for the low coolant problem: Burp the coolant system. This is usually the problem.

The noise from the rear could be a bearing, or could be a performance rear gear installed and not perfectly set up. I agree with the above on burping the coolant system. I start mine with the cap off and let it run, even if it spews out some antifreeze, till the thermostat opens. When it opens the level in the radiator drops out of site. Instantly when that happens you need to be adding antifreeze till it is full. Then wait till the thermo opens again and fill it again. After the second time put the cap on and you are done. Just watch the temp a little because if your thermostat would happen to stick while you are standing at the radiator waiting for it to open you will overheat the car. There are other ways of doing this but this is the method that works for me.

Welcome aboard!

My wife has an 87, so I have a little experience with them.

The low coolant sensor is a joke, to be honest. It's poorly placed on the radiator... as such, it kicks as many false warnings as real ones.

The digidash is a different animal... they can be serviced, tho.

The rear axle? I would check the tires. When I got my 92, the rear end howl was caused 100% by bad tires.
