Hi gang!

On Monday, I had the privledge to go to the NCM! FINALLY!!! After 7+ years, I finally made it! Whoo-hoo!

Sadly, Bastet44 could not join me, conference obligations. If I knew then what I know now (ie, schedules) I would have suggested we go today.

We are currently in Nashville, and are heading out tonite. However, the entire trip, lunch stop and all, was just about 4 hours! It's a 1 hour drive up I-65 from Nashville to Bowling Green, KY. The museum is at exit 28. VERY easy to find... can't miss it, really.

And I got to meet Adam Boca! A REALLY cool guy! It was a real pleasure to finally meet him!

So... on to pictures. These are not all. I took A LOT of pictures. I did learn that my new Nikon, no matter how great the camera is, has a crappy integrated flash. The flash is much better for close up portraits than for anything that really requires lighting. I will explain on a later picture.

I will post more pictures tomorrow night whilst I do a weeks worth of laundry!

Some comments about each picture:

EntryWay.jpg - This is the view that greets the visitor as they enter the display. There is a 1953 that is missing from this picture... This view is actually split, because you end the tour here. The entry side has the cars facing this direction (as in picture) and the exit side has the cars pointing the other direction (again, facing the visitor). The exit side is where the Museum Delivery occurs.

62and65Vettes.jpg - This picture is a real pain. It is what told me the flash needs love! The black looking 65 is actually Polo Green. Adam thinks it's the later C5 version of the colour, versus the slightly lighter version used on the C4. Either way, it's lovely. I suggested to Adam, that because this corner was SO dark, to swap the two cars in the display.

AssemblyLine.jpg - A mock up of the St. Louis plant.

PinkVette.jpg - I don't know the name of this colour, but I like it on that car. It won't work on modern cars, but on a 50s car, it's damned near perfect!

LT4.jpg - Just that, an LT4.

LT5andDaveM.jpg - This is an LT5 cutaway with a figure of Dave McClellan. It sure looks like him, too! Kinda creapy.

I have a ton more to filter through!
