This was intermittent at first , now its happening much more often.
I have a shift light tapped into the tach line. It seems like the distributor isn't able to drive both. Now the tach just flails around after 3500 rpm and the shift light doesn't always light up (4500rpm). I know the car is revving fine. Is this a distributor issue, or maybe a tach filter, or just the circuit? It was ok before I put the shift light in, but all I did was solder into the tach circuit. |

I am betting Ohms Law is kicking you in the ass. Just too much load on the line. I would check the voltage and see what is what.
I also wonder if the tach filter isn't dying or dead... |
