hi guys,
knowing that my car is a zo7 which is great but just wanted to know are j55 rpo calipers 2 or 4 spot piston calipers ??

and is that each side of the caliper ??

and on vettes with the j55 option brakes are they the same on front and back calipers ??

i noticed that alot of modern expensive performance cars have 6 spot calipers.

do you really need any better calipers such as 6 spot piston calipers to suit street road racing if you are going to also run drm brake bias spring,s/s brake hoses, synthetic high boil brake fluid, quality hawk hp plus pads, slotted /vented rotors e.c.t ??

thanks
glen

2 piston. Full floating.

4 piston means 2 on each side.

Good mate, how are you?

Yep, they are 2 piston.

Hard to say if its worth it or not, youd have to be sure they will fit under your wheels. I know there are 6 piston calipers that will fit under A-Molds, but they wont fit under sawblades.

yeah im alright thanks case,
just been busy getting my haltech e6x stand alone ecm installed to run the 8 t/b cross ram intake recently
i just got of the phone from paul(boschvette),his latest dyno read out with his 8 t/b intake 383 ,12:0:1 comp is 475 rear wheel horsepower and 10.8 sec on the quarter, not bad at all hey!!
his new cam specs are basically a copy of the v8 super cars cam which he got from larry perkins he said!!
i might keep the 4 spot piston calipers in mind for the future when i get my new slotted rotors e.c.t.
have a good one mate
cheers

don't bother with fancy rotors... they only warp, crack, you name it. The only reason the slots or holes exist is to release the gasses caused by racing brake pads. Street pads are not as prone to the gasses.

If you must, tho, slotted or dimpled are fine. Just avoid drilled.

4 pot calipers are EXPENSIVE. Be forwarned!
