hello Everyone,
I finally got my C4 here after it spent time in a shop in Germany. I put a Golen 383 stroker LT1. The car is a 93 with automatic transmission, headers, cats, etc. Golen put a ported and polished LT1 intake as well. 58mm throttle body, 30 Lb injectors, new wires, plugs etc, and a dynaspark distributor.
so here is the problem..me and a friend did a tune on it on some small backroads in Austria, and it has amazing acceleration...what I would expect from a 383 with 440 HP.
so I left his place and drove home to Germany,
the car performs very very well at low RPMs, just like when we tested it...butI did not predict what happens on the autobahn since we did not take it to an open road.....it will go to 6000RPM in third gear (automatic) but the top speed is only 220 KM(about 136 MPH). If I shift it to 4th (overdrive) at high speed (above 200KM/H) it switches between 4th and 3rd and still does not go faster than 225KM/Hr. When the car was stock, I could take it up to 162 MPH at only 5500 RPM.
I drove to Prague monday and had to drive over some rough roads....and the ASR needs service light and Service Engine Soon light came on for 10 minutes..but never again...I think the rough road might have shaken the car's ECM and made this happen..but now no problems. The car still accelrates very fast like when we tested it, but it has no top end..do you have any suggestions?
