in my efforts to finish the 84 that i am putting back together, i need to replace the driverside out door handle. i have the used one i bought from ebay and now i want to take the lock cylinder and move it to this one, i puled and twisted a few times and nothing seemed to move, anyone know how to take the lock assembley off?

you mean separate it from the handle assembly?

gee... I have no clue... the Helm for 84 has no docs, so I will have to check my 92. It's in the other room, if you can hang until the USC game is over...

You have to remove the door panel. It's been awhile, but its simply held in with screws from the inside of the door. I think I had to remove quite a bit from the door, including the aluminum inner panel. Also there's a plastic switch that goes on it as well, that is needed if you have an alarm.
