I recently purchased a 90 convertable L98 auto trans. One of the previous owners eliminated the FX3 option with standard shocks. The connectors are taped in the front (no acuators). When I start out with the car after start up and drive off for several feet (either reverse or forward) I hear a growning noise from the rear then it goes away (matter of a few seconds). Am I hearing the remenants of the FX3 or something else? Thanks for the input. Jack

ABS system located in the compartment behind your seat. They all do it.
