as i continue to bring my 84 back to life, i had the tires balanced high speed today and have put the doors for the most part back together. can anyone give me some suggestions for silencing road noise like cane i put anything in doors etc.

the later C4s used an interior door panel cover. You can find this either at www.vette2vette.com or any of the parts vendors.

Also, I have found that frost king helps a lot.

how old are the tires? as they age, they harden...

That door panel cover looks like a great idea, so much noise comes through the door and from rattles in the door. Mine just came with a thin sheet of plastic in there. Did GM remove that when the foam piece was added?

One thing that won't really help you, is dynamat type stuff. It's intended to dampen out low frequencies in thin panels that would otherwise vibrate. It doesn't absorb white noise well.
