The 383 shortblock I bought has no windage tray. I guess some builders think they are in there just for GM to find a place to put their waste metal. Anyway, I bought a Milodon tray and a Milodon stud set to install the tray. The Milodon directions say to torque the nut on the stud to 65 ft lbs. My repair manual says to torque the main bearing caps to 80 ft lbs. Which should I go with? I don't know if it matters but it is a stock 400 crank machined down and installed in a 1980 to 1985 350 2 pc rear seal block.
