Here's what I was talking about earlier in the thread. I was reading and stumbled upon it.
Consider the tech implications of the technology. The engineers I spoke to said that being able to see this stuff in its operational environments the key to designing the perfect chamber. This machine does just that. To the point of the OP, this will further refine development process to make flow numbers less relevant. This is great for guys like us, cheaper, better parts through technology. n Some manufacturer's have incorporated high speed cameras to the machine for even more information. I know a couple manufacturers are using this technology can't wait till it's mainstream. I suppose the numbers need to become less relevant before they can become more relevant, and changed in meaning. http://www.spintron.com/vtrain.htm Interesting stuff this new technology. People are grasping onto dry flow numbers, simply because it's simple, they can get it, and it's understandable, but as a single metric, does not tell the whole story. With advances in wet flow and Spintron, companies who make these significant investments will be way ahead of the competition in short order, and it won't be because of flow numbers. |

Whether it be dry, wet, or lukewarm cfm #'s, flow #'s will always be relevant in regards to engines.
