Hi veryone! first time on, Thanks. has anyone had the same problems with their foglamps after wiring upgrade and relays ?? I purchased a set of Cibie headlamps with 85/80 OSRAM bulbs from Daniel Stern Lighting. I upgraded all my wiring, installed Hi and Lo relays. I completed the install, and everything was working great until I noticed that my dash board Hi beam indicator comes on when I turn on my fog lights!! And in turn, my high beams also come on When I turn off the Hi Beam indicator, via the steering column, it turns my Fog lights off! This is happening when the headlamp switch is either in the "Park" or "Head" position. I realize that the fog lamps are normally disabled when the Hi beams are on, but I am having issues in the Low beam or "Park" settings. The new headlamps are functioning properly, both on Hi and Lo beam. until I attemp to use the fog lamps! I retraced all my wires to the relays, back to each headlamp and all the wires appear to be routed properly. Just to be sure, I disabled the new setup and lamps. I reinsltalled the old ystem and lights. It works normal, indicating that there is an issue with the fog/ high beam circuit. I just don't have the neccessarry knowledge to trouble shoot this one!! Hope some out there does. Thanks, Blizz

dude... that sounds icky.

Corvette Electrics are not as simple as, say, a Cavaliers...

I would advise getting the Helm Factory Service manual, www.helminc.com and going to town.

I have a 1984, 1987, 1992 and 1996 manual, but I donno if the lighting is 100% the same...

Thanks for the reply. I own the 2 book service manual, but this particular problem solving appears to be over my head! I was hoping another 1995 c4 got thru the same upgrade, and give me the quick fix. Thanks again, BLIZZ

I am not an expert on this, but do you have a separate ground for your fog lights? On my 89 (which is different) I upgraded my headlights and had to run separate grounds for the fog lights because they were originally grounded through the high beams. I had the problem that when I used the fog lights there was a faint glow from my high beam indicator on the dash. From what I have read, they fixed this problem on the newer models by making the fog lights grounded separately from the factory. Perhaps with the new wiring setup this was changed? It's something to look in to, at least. Good luck and keep us posted.

You could have just left the wiring alone or you can return it to stock. The C4's wiring system can handle 100w headlights. We did this conversion to a 94 years ago. Just put in Export lenses and Hella bulbs. Works fantastically. I did this conversion to my firebird and did upgrade the wiring in it. it's wiring is very different from the vettes.

hi
some one tried to break into my 95 lt1 - broke the left cover for the tilt arm. Wires are exposed - worked ok for a yr then got damp. never did put on cover cant see it didnt bother me but want to fix high beam. lights work, tilt works, blinker etc. Can feel rod inside on upper portion think that is high and low beam switch - cant figure out where it goes on top of column and where it would hook to on bottom where ever that is. Had ligts on moved switch but no high beam so it cant be connected at bottom. Since it got damp the other day - interior lights blink on and off - -have a mess

main thing is the darn high and low beam - think i can fix other part - blinking lights -- and can get cover from Arts for about $20 bucks after i figure out how the heck to fix the high and low beam
Thanks len
Like another guy said have the 2 books but they are not user friendly
