Car is a 91 with a l98 engine, drove it last weekend and The mileage area started showing faded areas in the box, my wife tells me she is felling a lot of heat coming from the side. I cut the trip short and Sunday i cleaned the radiator area under the shroud, I changed the cluster fuse no change, The ac fuse had no plastic on it, I put in a 10 put on the air and it blew, calls for a 10 i put in a 15 and diden,t turn on the air, started it up and box in cluster was working fine,Today i went out about 2 miles it smelt like wires burning, went back home checked the car no fires, It may have been the car in front of me and sent me into panic, left again and a couple of miles the cluster acted up again, I pulled it into the garage and left it running and the heat on the Right side seemed to be blowing out like crazy. i don't know if one thing has any thing to do with any and i will be bringing into the shop this week, any input will be fine trying to keep these guys from taken me for a ride. Thanks in advance, Bob

So you have hot air coming out one side and cold air out the other? Is that correct?

Hot air is blowing out from under the car on the right side a lot, not as much as driver side it seems unusual i had the car for three years and don't recall so much hot air coming out, it does not seem to be over heating according to the gauge and drives ok Bob

Usually when there is hot air on the passenger side of my car it's because my wife is sitting there
Your dash is slightly different than mine, maybe Andy can chime in. Did you try to find where the heat source is? For example, a lot of heat is generated near the transmission tunnel. Is it possible she is feeling this? Perhaps the insulation was pulled back or not covering that area? Or is the hot air blowing from the vent under the dash? Matthew |
