Yes. It will work. The crossbars change in length mid 1990 models. 84-early 90, use one crossbar. Late 90 through 96 use another. So, for your 94, you can use one sold to someone with a 95 without any issues.

They have not released dates yet for the Countyline Challenges. All that has been confirmed is that they will be on opposite weekends from the Moroso Challenges. Here is some news copied from CF:
The Countyline GM challenge schedule has not been releaseed, but it will be on opposite weekends as the Moroso Challenges. The winter Challenge will be a 4 race event and will consist of the top 16 overall points from the other 3 challenges. Countyline Challenge is for ANY GM bodied vehicle, even your minivan. Moroso Corvette Challenge is for Corvettes only. Moroso GM Challenge is the same as Countyline Challenge, except for Corvettes. Winter Challenge is for ALL GM's. SO, you have 3 events, 2 times a week to shedule a race night, a chance to race ANY GM, and the time of your life!! Want to know more?? Ready to race?? Ready to meet new friends that share the same passion as you?

WOW! A garage a little messier than mine. I don't have engines pulled apart, but I have the interior for my 86 Vette and my 86 Monte Carlo SS shoved in there with my 86 Vette.

Corvette Challenge 2008 Schedule:
January 19
February 16
March 29
April 19
May 17
June 21
July 19
August 16
September 20
October 18
November 22
December 20
Gates open at 4:30pm.
The 2008 Horse Power Sales Corvette Challenge at Moroso Motorsports Park will be run under the rules and guidelines set forth by Moroso Motorsports Park and the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA).

Cost
The entry fee for each race day will be $30. This will get car and driver into the track and racing. Spectators are welcome and entry is $13 for an event.
Prizes
Trophies for Winner and Runner-up at each Event. Series Champion will be crowned and invited to the Awards Banquet.
Basic Safety Rules
A helmet must be worn. If you do not own one, you can rent one at the track. Drivers must wear long pants and a shirt with sleeves (except where a fire jacket is required) when on the track. During the hot summer days many of us just wear shorts under gym pants and take off the gym pants between runs. Then we throw the gym pants on for the next run. Keep in mind, we are a group of Corvette drivers having fun and the track has the right to impose any rule for the safety of the participants. This paragraph is not intended to be a complete rules list but a guideline for those that are unfamiliar with drag racing rules.
The rules are designed to promote Safety and Fairness. The rules for participation are as follows:

Your Car: Must be a Corvette. Any year. Any model. It can be stock or highly modified, "bone to blown".

Electronic Gadgets: There will be NO electronics allowed. This means:

NO delay boxes may be used.
NO shutter boxes may be used.
NO two-steps may be used.
NO trans brakes

Anyone found using an electronic aiding device will be banned from running in the The Horse Power Sales Corvette Challenge for a period of no less than one (1) year. The items mentioned above are not all-inclusive but are intended as samples of electronic devices designed to give a driver an advantage over other drivers.
Safety:
Please read this very carefully. Participating in a Horse Power Sales Corvette Challenge drag race, or any sanctioned drag race is a PRIVILEGE - not a right. To earn and maintain the privilege of racing each driver will be required to comply with ALL safety rules. Period.

Keep in mind, we are a group of Corvette drivers having fun AND the host track has the right to impose ANY rule for the safety of participants. Please also note that it is NOT the Horse Power Sales Corvette Challenge that determines what safety equipment and procedures to follow while at the track. It is the host track that makes these determinations. Please take the time to log on to the tracks website at www.morosomotorsportspark.com and familiarize yourself with THEIR safety requirements.

The above information is not intended to be a complete rules list but, rather, a guideline for those that may be new to drag racing and somewhat unfamiliar with general drag racing rules.

Points: All participants are eligible for points when they race. No additional fee for points is required. Points will be assigned in the following manner;

10 points for starting the event
10 points for each round won
2 extra points for winning the event
1 extra point for runner-up in the event

Not too many C4's run out there. Thought I would pass the information around. There are a number of Challenges out there on the same night:
Corvettes, GM (any GM car that isn't a Corvette, this is starting in Febraury), Mustangs, Trucks and Mopar. I ran the Corvette Challenge with my old 01 Z06 and am now running my Charger in the Mopar Challenge...until my 86 Vette is ready to go on the track. Then, I am going back to the Corvette Challenge. The past couple champions have been C4's. It is a great time out with great people, if you don't want to race. It is bracket racing, so you only need to run as hard as you want to.

Honestly, I liked the concept a lot better than the production model. The rear trunk lid drops down, softening the rear...I liked it higher. Also the tail lights are not as good looking as the ones that went into production. I'll go grab a couple shots of the Challenger off of the other board.

ninetyfivevette...
Yes, the LX platform consists of the Chrysler 300, Dodge Magnum and the Dodge Charger. The new Challenger rides on the LY platform...a modified LX frame (shortened). Differences between the Chrysler 300 and the Magnum/Charger are the exterior (obviously) and a lot of the interior (dash boards are completely different). For 2008, the Dodge Magnum did get a new front nose to resemble the Charger. Interior on the Magnum and Charger are almost identical, except for the rear (obviously...one is a station wagon, the other a sedan).
As for the windows, the Charger and Magnum do have more "glass". The doors do not go up as high, so you do gain some additional window. (Hope that is clearer than mud). The biggest blind spot I have is amazingly the front driver side A-pillar. It is wide, so when you are making a sweeping left turn, the A-pillar blocks some of your view. More than I would like, at least. But other than that, it is a nice vehicle. Here are some pictures of mine. It is a 2007 (minor changes have been done for 2008 on the interior).

I've gone from a C4 (93) to a C5 (01 Z06) and back to a C4 (86). Although the Z06 was a blast to drive with the acceleration of the car, the C4's feel more like a sports car. I hated the seats in the Z06, that I replaced them with Corbeau A4's, which did help make the Z06 feel more like a sports car...but nothing replaces stepping down into a C4. I can't wait to have my C4 running faster than my Z06 was running in the 1/4 mile. That is going to be FUN!!!

I have a 2007 Dodge Charger Daytona R/T (Plum Crazy # 981 of 1400). I traded in my 01 Z06 on the Charger, when my wife and I decided to adopt a child. 3 people don't fit in the Corvette too well. I have been very impressed with my Daytona R/T. One site I would recommend is www.lxforums.com. You will find a wealth of information there. If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask. So far, I have just over 8,300 miles on my Daytona. I would highly recommend purchasing a Diablosport Predator for the Charger (if you go with a Hemi, they are still working on a V6 model). It really wakes the car up! You will find the performance mods are limited. Also, a lot of factory options can be added easily. I have added:
Performance: Predator Programmer, Corsa cat-back exhaust, Mopar CAI, DC Sport Strut Brace...best 1/4 mile is 13.88 @ 100.16.
Factory Options added: U-Connect (bluetooth), Navigation, Kicker Stereo Upgrade and some other minor things.

Well, John, you know me...there is never enough.
Seriously, though...I have Roger spec'ing out a forged 383 for my 86. I told him that I want a motor that is street-able, that Stephanie can drive and that will turn 1/4 miles in 11.6 seconds (decided not to go with the roll bar at this time). He wants to figure something out with around 500hp. From there, if we are a little short, I'll just throw a small shot of NOS on the motor, for when I am racing.

John,
I'd been toying with the idea of coil-overs as well. Talked to HPS (Roger) and his opinion was that there wouldn't be too much benefit on a street car. For drag racing, he said the factory setup with some different transverse springs would do nicely at a fraction of the price. Now, if I wanted to do road course racing, then he said, it would be a totally different issue and then you would want coil-overs.
Neil

I have to thank tobijohn for letting me know about c4guru. The past 4 years, I had moved from a C4 to a C5, so I didn't know anything about all of the bans, changes, etc. in the C4 section. When I told John that I was back in a C4, he immediately told me to sign up here. I am currently breaking my habit of CF and am hanging out here more. The really neat thing is I was on CF with my 93...and had gotten to know a bunch of you back then (CF name at that time was: Whitvette93). In fact, when I decided to trade in my 93 on the 01 Z06 I had, Bogus yelled at me that I should go ahead and do the upcoming maintenance and skip buying the C5. Although the Z06 is a great car and a great Corvette, the feel when sitting in it, just isn't the same as a C4. Glad to be back and hope I can contribute once again to the C4 family.

Welcome to the forum, you will likely recognize a lot of names from CF, changes there prompted a recent exodus.
My sincere condolences on your loss, will keep you in my prayers.
Looks like we are neighbors in the real world, hope to get to meet you and see that new ride one of these days.

Yep...I'm up in Lacuna Golf & Country Club off of Lantana Road. Do you ever take your Vette out to Moroso? The people that race out there in the Corvette Challenge are a great group. Next race is Feb 16th. Gates open at 4:30pm. Everyone tries to get there by 5:00pm to be tech'ed in. It is bracket racing, so you only need to drive as hard as you want to.

For the series that I run, if you go below 11.49 in the quarter, you need a 5 or 6 point roll bar. Once you are below 10's, yes you need a cage. I just generalized the terms. Since I don't think I have the room for a 6 point roll bar without giving up too much comfort (also plan on driving the car around), I may have to focus on just getting enough power to be in the 11.6 second range.

Thank you all for your condolences. It is something you never think can happen to you. I have fond memories of my father and I restoring his 78 Corvette. Last night, when I started tearing into the interior some, it reminded me of helping my father out. I know he is there helping me.

As for the interior, I am going to keep it "factory", other than the seats. Carpets will all be flame red and all plastic trim pieces will be black. The motor is going to be stroked to a 383, performance heads, exhaust, etc. will be done to it. The transmission will be blueprinted. Suspension and brakes will be upgraded as well. I lucked out with this one...already has a Dana 44 in the rear. Just need a better gear ratio. For wheels, my wife has decided that we are going to get C6 Z06 Motorsports black rims....and an extra pair for the drag slicks. It is going to be a fun project! I am already hoping to have the interior done by the Super Bowl.
Now to decide what to do with my 86 Monte Carlo SS. Already dumped a bunch into it. Now, where I race, they are starting a GM Challenge, so I could run it with the Vette. But, my driveway is a little full with 3 cars and the Vette in the garage. I guess, once I have the Vette done, I'll make a decision on the Monte.

Hey All,
Not new to Corvettes, on my 3rd one now (86 Coupe). I've owned a 93 Coupe (went by the screen name: Whitvette93 on the CF, back then). When I moved from my 93 to the 01 Z06, my screen name changed again to QuikZilver (haven't changed it...still this on the CF). Back in August, I traded my beloved Z06 in on a 2007 Dodge Charger Daytona R/T (# 981 of 1400 Plum Crazys), due to my wife and I getting ready to adopt a child from the State of Florida. This has been put on hold, due to an accident that claimed the lives of my parents and my wife's parents (they became best friends after we were married, my parents moved up to NC and lived less than a mile from my wife's parents). My wife and I are trying to put our lives back together after this immense shock. At the start of this year, a fellow Charger owner tipped me off on an 86 Coupe that his father-in-law wanted to sell. Price was right... $ 3,800. Interior is garbage, but I already have a lot pulled out and am starting to replace the ugly blue (sorry, if you have blue interior, but it just isn't my taste) and replace with black and red. It is going to be going into a performance shop at the end of February for a complete overhaul. I was going to shoot for 10's in the quarter, but after test fitting the seats I am putting in, I don't have room for the cage required to run that low. New goal will be 11.6. This is about as fast as I can run without a cage. My Daytona R/T will be coming off the track and used as a daily driver as soon as my Vette is done. I race out at Moroso Motorsports Park in the Mopar Challenge and will be back in the Corvette Challenge soon.
Here are some pictures of my new 86 Vette:

I am trying to figure out if I can put a 6 point cage in my 86 with Corbeau A4 seats. When I test fitted my seats in the car, I can't see how I could have the cage in, without having my ribs up against the cage. May have to re-think whether I want a car in the 10's or upper 11's. So, any pictures of how your 6 point cage runs along the seats/doors would be great. Thanks in advance.

I can help you out. I am the friend of Tobijohn's that he refered to above. I just picked up an 86 A4, so I can test it out for you. PM me and I'll give you my address. May take me some time, as I have the interior pulled apart, right now. How quickly do you need it tested? Does this throw the code immediately upon start-up? If it is doing it on start-up, then I can test it quicker. If it needs to be driven to get the code to come up, then I'd need some time. BTW...I am located in South Florida. Let me know.
