E85 is an octane bump from hell, really...

I would think these could work up to about 700hp... I haven't heard of any issues... The factory rails can hold some serious power, too...

Remember, make the rails bigger, need more fuel pump - pressure and volume.

You would also want to upgrade the entire system to support the greater flow rate. If you do a 5/8" rail, you would want at least a 1/2" line, and enough pump to keep up.

Pump is good to 1300hp@43.5psi and 1100hp@60psi. Will be running 10AN line throughout with a 6AN return. Guess I will try them out and get bigger if they are a restriction.

E85 needs 25-30% more fuel over gasoline correct?

Plan is to have a tune for either and go from 43.5psi to 60psi at the pump to provide the needed fuel without swapping injectors.

I am not savy with fuel rails as I am with hose properties.

Thanks for the info.

What is the limit on horsepower the HSR fuel rails can support? They aren't very big, I'd say 3/8-1/2 inch in size.

Not looking for anything ridiculous just around 7-800 without worry on E10.

What would these support on E85?

Found a company to make me a custom tank with baffles, sump, AN bungs for fuel line, and mounting screws for the external pump and pre/post filters.

They are just awaiting measurements when I drop the tank.

Oh did I mention aluminum? Should be slightly lighter and sturdier than stock.

after looking in my box of parts where I had it I see it is gone. It may have been misplaced or tossed during our current move in the garage. I will keep an eye out as we unpack.

For whatever reason, some C4's are bad about the fuel slosh and some are not.

My 92 is terrible.... if I have less than 1/2 a tank it will cut out on launch at the drag strip... it's the same in hard corners.

I'd suggest you try to make an internal fuel sump of some kind first.... lots of people have used plastic liter bottles around the fuel pump to solve this problem.... I just have never got around to it on my 92.

I hate to link anybody to the SOB's that run CF but the old posters there did have some good knowlege. Here is a thread that has some links to pics (post #20 and #21) and a write up (post #11) of how people use a liter plastic bottle around the pump to make a bigger fuel sump.

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c4-te ... ers-on-hard-throttle.html

Another option. The way the stock tank is shaped it's perfect for one of those weld on fuel pick up sumps like Competition Engineering mfgrs.

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/cee ... Lrh_tTtjrgCFWIV7AodQBAALQ

This would make running an external pump easy and it's inexpensive.

Your other option would be a fuel cell. 22 gallon is what we run in our late models. These have a rubber bladder, plastic outer shell with a 2 pc metal can to mount them. -8AN pick up tube. Very easy to make up a mounting system (2 bars across the impact sub frame is how I have one mounted on my 84 drag car) in the back of a C4 Corvette. Even with fabricating the mounting bars you'd be about $300-$350 turn key.

http://daymotorsports.com/proddisp.ph ... +bladder.+%0A%95+Cells+ha

Will

The RCI you use is mounted under the hatch or in the stock location?

Great information and what I was looking for.

As my tank is already 'broken' and I am replacing the rear bumper all the hard work will be done and I can run a bigger wire setup to support a nice pump setup.

Probably your pump, pickup, etc.
But that's a reason not to go to a cell especially with the external pump thing.

If you can get the measurements where the stock tank is, I'd bet ATI has something in the catalog that would be close. I see a lot of different ones at the track.

Are you saying a sump and external pump are not advised in roadracing/autox?

I know of a company that does it but will need to get dimensions and price it out.

I was thinking meth tank where the battery currently is or cold air intake to the gill if I decide to go supercharger.

How big of a fuel tank do some of yall have? Or does anyone have a custom tank/cell?

I was wanting to delete my antennae and move my battery with cutoff switch and charging ports to the back and have a custom tank made with a sump and baffles to get rid of my slosh issue during autox.

I wont know how big I can get it until I pull the bumper and tank but was hoping for 20+ gallons using as much room as I can.

Need help deciding on a good quality car cover. Car sits in doors out of the sun and rain but does get dusty.

What is a good cover to use for these conditions?

Currently have a 700r4 on its way out. I already have a nice T56 6 speed. It is longer so I will have to measure the DS length and might be able to get by with my A4->D36 DS.

I have an LT1 T56 sitting in my garage and it is time to start gathering parts to install. Besides the bracket to bolt it up I will need:

Clutch kit
Slave
Pedal
Shifter

Am I missing anything?
I need recommendations for each, namely the clutch to support 450rwhp and slave setup.

Thanks

Mine comes on at 195* and off at 180*
I run around town in the middle of the summer in 100* south Texas at 170-177 depending on driving speed. When sitting it gets up to 195* and shoots down to 185* until I start moving again.

He claims slight differences but is unsure if they are the same so he wants to be sure. I am going to leave it at this as it is just what he was responding to keep the interested buying party in the know.

Yet again it is a very stout piece and should mine fail or I get around to swapping my my T56 it will go in.

I'd like to upgrade my fans (same issue - denser 3-core radiator that cools instantly above 30mph but in traffic my fans are hopeless).

I do have an issue that the DeWitts upgrade requires the A/C dryer to be moved but my supercharger setup makes that very difficult. On my 92 the fans seem to be a direct bolt-on to the shroud, I wonder if there is a 'standard' size spal fan out there that is a simple bolt-on (and maybe wiring upgrade).

What do you mean the dryer needs to be moved? In my 85 the condenser had to be changed out for a later unit as they are thinner but the rest was simple plug n play

Can you help Summit with this issues? I get 2-3 big catalogs when they are sent out and 3-5 of the monthly tool ones. Crazy.

Congrats on the new job and have fun

Did you get the upgraded Spal fan as well?

My driving temps in 100* weather still never gets over 205* with my rad and fan upgrade.
