Another vote for 350-400rwhp depending on torque band. More is fun but can be frustrating if you cant get it to the ground.
Drove a TT C5 awhile back that was a big letdown. Dyno queen that did nothgin but burnouts in 1st and second, didnt pull hard as expected in 3rd+up. Useless to me.

350rshp in a TPI car should be loads of fun. 350rwhp in a Z isnt nearly enough .
I've driven two TT C5's built by the same guy. All I can say is be prepared. They can get away from you real easy. Kinda scary when you are doing 60 and floor it and you're burning rubber!(actually it's kinda fun!).

Case, I've had this problem with DVD players, and I think it's common on VCRs too. They use macrovision, which is a filter used to prevent people from making clean copies. Ones I've seen just fuck with the colors and brightness during the movie.

The TV has a macrovision decoder built into it. Your projector doesn't. I had to purchase a little black box to remove the macrovision to play movies on my projector without issues. Another option may be to run the signal through a receiver, since those tend to have macrovision decoders too. Thats why I think these security deals are total bullshit, they interfere with people that are trying to watch movies legally.

If you just need the little box, look on ebay, they're like $20.
I was just going to mention copyguard or macrovision. It's such a pain in the ass. I had a copy of "Kiss of the Dragon" and the friggin thing was so dark, I thought the entire movie was filmed at night.

I saw it on TV one day and couldn't believe it was the same.

Also, do they still make anything in Japan? Over here all we get is Chinese crap, I'd love to have something Made In Japan.

Every VCR I have gets worse as they get newer. I must have had at one time about 20 VCR's. I'm down to five in use and about 3 put away. The rest are in the dump. I had a Sharp that was basically on 24/7(between taping and then watching when I got home) for about 7 years. When it broke, I paid to have it fixed because it was the best one I ever had(for features, not pic quality or anything else).

The new ones today suck, you have to rely on teh remote to do just about everything.

Drag race on Saturday's, either do a Sunday Cruise with other vetters or work around the house(never ends).

I used to SCUBA, but I haven't in 12 years.

Fishing and camping when I can, go karts, I have three old school R/C trucks. Atlantic City is only an hour, so is Philly and NYC. So sometimes a little day trip happens.

Then there are the times when I'm not working that I lay in bed with my woman all day and we do unmentionable things to each other(Ok, we have sex!).

Vacations are usually spent somewhere other than at home.
So far this year, I have Daytona 500, both Dover races, a Pocono race, honeymoon in Canada, Cruise In, Panama Canal reunion and hopefully a trip somewhere that requires a plane ticket and a foreign language(maybe Panama again or Costa Rica again).

Got a link. To lazy to go look for it, plus the sped here in Costa Rica is shit.

BTW, I saw they finally locked the BBK thread.
You're in Costa Rica? What part?

BTW, you know I'm not promoting that place anymore.

I can fill you guys in a little on why they don't want some promotion.

According to the original owner(and now the new ones), no event can be CF sanctioned just in case something happens, they can't get the blame.

We used to use CF when we promoted an event and the past, but were told not to at some point.

Things have changed a lot and for the worst, and for once I'm glad to be on this side. It's much safer.

My stock LT1's with 300 is plenty for me.

The '93 having the higher stall torque converter and 3.45 gears makes a difference.

The 95 six speed does pretty well up to 100 mph then the other higher HP cars start to takeover.

Example:

On last years crab trip, we got off the Cape May Ferry and onto the Garden State Parkway which at the southern end of Jersey has stoplights.

I was next to a ZR1 and a '03 Z06. Light turned green and we were off. Blew the ZR1 away and kept up with the Z06 up to about 80 or 90 and then out of nowhere another Z06 blew by at about 150(he was highly modded). Now the ZR1 driver may not have been expecting a little race which is no doubt why I got the jump on him, maybe if he was paying attention I wouldn't have left him. By this time though all the other highly modded C5's went blowing by us at over 150(I only know this because I was at 130 and watched them disappear.

On the street in most situations, you only need 0-80 in as quick as possible and if you can't get traction, what's the use?

I'd like to have 100 more, so I'm going to go with 400 hp also.

I don't know if I'd actually buy a set, but $200-250 seems reasonable and I'm sure they would sell well.

Look on ebay or the used parts vendors for a jack. It should come in a black bag and there is a spring to hold it to the spare tire.

Damn I couldn't squeeze out a fart in there, let alone port an intake or something.

I'll put some pics up of mine later. 10' single, with washer/dryer/waterheater, and Still have plenty of room to park and wrench on my car or truck, full set of tools, air compressor, workbench, and all my boxes of parts and car crap.

One day I'll snap a few pics of my attic above the garage. All kinds of stuff in there and that's after I cleaned it out when I sold my Moper and my GMC. Gave away 4 complete sets of wheels and tires not including those that were on the vehicles.
I still have 2.5 sets of sawblades with tires and two wheels without tires in addition to some rims with drag radials and some seats and other various interior parts etc etc.

Aside from the fact that the Admins show up, it isn't a bad event. But if you don't know the OTer's, you won't "get" some of the jokes.
It is a fun week with autox, drag racing, food and lots of alcohol(I don't drink). I used to supply 2 kegs each year, but not this year and I may even change my mind and not go after all.

I will still go to the Cruise In for CF only because it does benefit the NCM and I am one of the few who have actually attended all of them.
I think it would be great to see the looks on peoples faces(a certain few) when I show up and don't acknowledge them.
I still have some friends there, but few are from the C4 section. Not many of us left.
Here's a pic from CI-VIII,
L-R 87ragtop,ZRDon,Dr Evil,corvetteronw,96LT4,Mr Mojo,HP Bushrod and I forgot his username on the extreme right. We were the only ones there who still owned the cars we had when we signed on to CF the first time or still had C4's.

I live in Little Israel, otherwise known as Brooklyn Jr or as it says on my tax bill, Lakewood,NJ. Some may argue that NJ isn't a real state anymore, we have so many different groups of people here.

When I retire, I'm seriously considering moving back to Panama(where I was born) or Costa Rica.

PM's can't be read by moderators, but they can by Administrators. I know this since one of mine was intercepted by savewave.

I have never been able to read anyone's PM's over there.

I know they will be monitoring my PM's so I won't be PMing anyone over there.

People I haven't seen post in a long time would be:

Blake Kercovich

You got a lot of friends here, hang out for awhile.
Its definitely changing at BrandX. THink Ive made less posts in a week than I used to make in a day. Be interesting to see what happens.

Thanks, I did have fun while it lasted. Yes the money has become an issue. I never wanted to believe it, but in the end it was the $$$ that changed them.

Absolutely. And knowing you're no longer a part of the CF C4 sections makes it seem, well, I'm not sure how to describe it. I don't drink (anymore) but it's kind of like when the place you've been hanging out at for years gets sold and a bunch of new faces are behind the bar, you can't run a tab anymore, no more going out back for whatever and they take all the old tunes out of the juke box and put in new crap. I hardly venture over there anymore and when I do, there aren't to many screen names I recognize...
That's exactly how it is.

Some good advice here. Take it to the track and see what it does. Then worry about adding a bar. Borrow or buy a hardtop and you'll be good down to 12.00(or maybe 11.50 now I think) Best thing about that is, you can remove the top and no worries of cutting up your car.

The bars mentioned from I/O and EM I don't think meet the requirements of NHRA, a custom job is the best way to go.

I do have pics somewhere, but I don't know where(I have thousands of pics scattered on vaious hard drives and CD's).

If I can find some, I'll post them.

Well as most of you already know, I was stripped of my moderator duties at CF. Does it hurt? Yes it does. Does it leave a bad taste in my mouth?Yes. Will I still post at CF? Yes, but not like I used to.

The story starts back in 2001 whan after 18 months of membership, Troy asked me to become a Moderator. At the same time, Marcho Polo and thrills were also asked.

The C4 sections were always the busiest sections of the forum thanks to many people who are now here at Guru.
Yes we had a lot of arguments and fights and people got banned or whatever. To be honest, I don't remember most of the people I ever had to slap a wrist on. I've had a few minor issues with some folks here and it's nothing personal, I hope you know that.

I was also the lead Moderator of the Northeast Events section, probably the most troublesome section outside of Politics, Religion and Controversy.

I was accused of being a Nazi dictator on more than one occasion and I banned a lot of trolls in that section, some as many as a dozen times(with new names).

For the most part I got respect from the general membership. I've been to every single Cruise In, most of the Skyline drives, I missed Carlisle last year, but made the previous seven. I've run seven of my own Crab Trips to Delaware, sometimes twice a year. I've cohosted the 4th of July Megabash for the last six years. Planned many road trips, attended many carshows throughout the year. In other words, I've met a lot of people and made many friends both on and off the forum. I'm always willing to help anyone, anytime.(one reason why I got divorced). The new wife to be is a lot more understanding, so I will still be able to continue as I always have.

That brings us to the recent trouble at CF. We'll start with the NE EVents section.
We started a "bar" thread in order to restore order to the section. Personally I think bar threads are senseless, but it was a solution to a bigger problem. I had to shut down the entire NE section to sort out all teh trouble posts and PM those involved to get things back on track. The bar thread was the answer and it worked. About a year later, the members became more relaxed and started going against the rules and guidelines the forum had in place. Me, just doing myjob, would just edit, delete or move the offending posts and reply with a reason. Since the guys are too lazy to go back a page or two to catch up, the simply went on doing it again. So I shut it down to get their attention. It worked. During the shutdown, a member contacted Savewave and said I was being, for lack of a better word, a douche. This is the second time this member has done something to me that makes me want to smash his face in if I ever see him again. So Savewave reopened the bar, removed my privileges in the NE and C6 sections, and kept me on the C4 sections.
The people of the NE still continue to break forum rules, some of them the same rules that got many of you guys banned, but yet they can stay.
This was all going on at the same time the multiple bannings were occurring in C4. So you can see I had a lot on my plate. Add to that that some of my Drag Racing friends were having trouble as well, so that was three problems all laid on me.
The short sweet answer was to remove me as a Mod and let whatever hapens happen. Not a good decision if you ask me, but hey, they are the bosses.
I fought for you guys to get reinstated and they wouldn't accpet it, they stated my loyalty to you was greater than my loyalty to the forum. Not necessarily the truth, but not exactly false either.
You guys are my brothers and I will do anything I can to help any of you no matter what. I am now one of you more than I ever was.
I had asked for help in the C4 sections long ago and never got it. I nominated bogus for C4 as well as Audio,CFI-EFI for C4, Rex Ruby and corvetteronw. There were a few others as well, but none of them got the job. The Admins never really gave me a reason why and then shit started happening with one or more of you on different issues and then all of a sudden, it didn't appear to be the right thing to do making any of them Mods.
Instead they gave me a slew of C5/C6 guys to mod. These guys don't visit as often as I do and only handle reported posts. Sure some visited at first and cleaned up a little, but it will wear off once they get settled into their other sections.
So now the C4 section has no true C4 Mods, only night watchmen.
That section will crumble and become a free for all of trolls and misinformation.
I won't go into all the reasons why everyone who got banned, most of you know already from the message you received when you tried to log in, and also, I really don't know the answer.
Jeffvette had 10 usernotes against him which was one reason why he isn't allowed back.
Andy was promoting this site which is the reason they gave me for his ban.
Unfortunately now, I can't look up the usernotes on any of you to show past history.
But the bottom line is, does it matter anymore? I think not. We have a new home here and can make it better than CF ever was since most of the guys here made CF what it was.
There is no C4 brotherhood at CF anymore and likely there never will be.
I'm sure I left out a lot of details and at this point, I won't post the PM exchanges between me,Cor07vette and Savewave.
That may come at a later date.
I can't wait for this site to take off and become the best resource for Corvette owners of all generations. :thumbleft: :thumbright:

My local station can't say it either. They mentioned it two years ago and have been calling it the "Big Game" ever since and I guess from now on.

Even on TV today I saw a commercial and they said "Big Game" rather than Superbowl.

I'm pretty sure that if I couldn't use headphones, the Mrs. would make me move it out to the garage
Nice garage and piano. My piano sits under a blanket in a spare bedroom, it's so out of tune, probably take 8 years to get it right again. My dad bought it for my mom back in the early '70's and I started playing around 1973. I want to move it to my brothers house in Tampa so I can have more room in my house(yes unfortunately my spare bedrooms are as bad as the garage). He don't want it though and I don't have teh heart to sell it or give it away.

I added up the numbers one time and I thought production was around 380,000 with around 85,000 or so being manual trans cars.

Remember, several of us have more than one, so that can account for low numbers since we can only drive one at a time.

Well i cant just up and leave a job ive been at for 10 years to go on a holiday, so when i get there, i get there.

Ten years! That's like two and half times as long as high school (and that seemed to go on forever). I once had the same pair of sunglasses for eight years but that's about my record for anything...
I've been at UPS for almost 23 years now! I also still have some tube socks from the '70's.

Of all the garages that my buddies have built recently, I still like yours the best.

I remember that avatar.
The crosslinking of the post is probably what caused the trouble. From what I was told, Patrick didn't want any links of his on CF. That's what Troy told me anyway. I know Jim Willis doesn't want any C4guru links over on CF.

I would hope that is the case, but that's optimistic. I remember bashing CF once on DC, which got crosslinked and I got a rash of shit for it, that was mostly just members, but from you also. I think you took it personal (rightfully so) yet you did not ban/punish me on CF for it. That was very professional of you.

That is one thing that can really bug me about some people, is that they can't take criticism without overreacting. Criticism is sometimes constructive, sometimes destructive, but a person that can't take it or leave it is never going to feel comfortable in their own shoes.

But yeah, I quite giving a rats ass what they think awhile ago. Probably right about the time I changed my avatar to a fake lifetime member sign with dollar signs in it.

I can guaran-damn-tee though that some of those losers in charge at CF are spying over here though!

Guarantee they are.

The fact that that place has now booted you, is only further affirmation that you did things right. Back when it was still possible, you went a long way towards making CF an enjoyable place to hang out.
Thank you, I always tried to please everyone if it was within my power.

Proof, once again, that no good deed goes unpunished. Thanks for everything.

Good to see you, I noticed before I was canned that you were placed in Moderation. Did anyone ever talk to you about it Like I did that one time?

I just got home from work, I will fill you in on what and why it happened.

Frank

It's been almost two days, we're still waiting to hear all the gorey details.
Sorry, been busy. The guy who fills in for me at work got hurt last Friday, so I'm stuck working every day.
I'll probably post something up over the weekend when I have a little more time.

I believe at bogus's wedding?

:thumbleft:
Well, you got 3 of them correct. We'll see if anyone can guess the 4th.(He does post here)

It was at Andy and T's party in DE after the wedding which I think was a year earlier or something.

Damn.
Replaced by a Lady yet.

I saw you posted over there early this morning.
Did they can you while you where off-line?
Yeah, they did it sometime during the day while I was on the road. Didn't even get a chance to clean my locker out so to speak.
Guess my last PM to savewave was the one that did it.

To you C5 owners, it's all just in fun, but as the bastard child of the Corvette world, we C4 guys need to have our fun!

Pretty much. All the true veterans are now gone. Not too many guys from 1999 anymore.
As Savewave put it, I've been "promoted" to "Lifetime Gold Member".

In a way I'm glad it happened. I could never quit, too much fun having fun with some members(where's cuisanart?)

I've been a Mod there since mid 2001, made a lot of friends, made a lot of enemies as well. Now I can be neutral.
