Thanks guys. Will call chris and try to look up the dealership in wv and see if they can ship. Mine is just OLD! If you know how to rebuild it, have at it because I don't know how nor would I try on that. It doesn't want to fucntion like it should. I usually have to run it on high. I searched CF and some people said that they are prone to failing. Yes, this one is the one in the door....

Does anyone sell one new anymore?

Ecklers, CorvetteAmerica, Midamerica and even NAPA all did but it's discontinued. If no new is available, I will do vette2vette but I REALLY want a new one...

Whos used them. Do they have issues? Gotta get a new TB so I am upgrading it to a 52mm. TPIS wants 600 without a core and my core is not rebuildable(its crap!). BBK is half that price...Some people have told me BBK TB's are awful. Thoughts on there design flaws/cons for a C4 Corvette....

No, don't bring up the your wasting your money on a bigger TB. That is not what I am asking. I expect no gains from going bigger. I just want a new TB plus I am upgrading stuff but thats irrelevant. Just need to know if BBK is good or bad.

Thanks!

I spent that money on HID headlights/projectors and sitting in my mechanics yard, a lawn mower threw a rock and smashed it all to hell. Not a lawnmower but a tractor lawnmower....Ugh. I bought these to deflect road debris. It says it will stop a pellet gun at close range. Do you guys think these will help and will it HONESTLY stop a pellet gun??? I mean that kind of exagerates but....

I have seen cars with sherriffs badges with the black and blue and the squares. I love dogs so why not show my support for police dogs? Will I get in trouble for this sticker on my vette? Its very tiny.

`) I can upshift or downshift in any gear until it hits redline in which I upshift. Do I have a shift kit installed or is this common on 86' corvettes? The shift kit below says not.

2) Is this shift kit worth the $$$. It's not descriptive. Also if its worth it, should i use heavy duty or street/strip???

It's a disaster but I ordered some TPIS long tube runners, going to take those gaskets, lay them against my spare plenum and then port match em that way. Leave the TPIS runners as is because I am NOT screwing those expensive things up and am getting the TPIS base next week when its pay day!(wendsday). Ill be sure to let you guys know how bad I screw up this project. LOL. And I am still grinding down the humps inside the plenum. Damn those things are tough!

I have 6000K foglights and they are BRIGHT! I can't wait to see the headlights!!!

I paid 900 dollars for the third brake light and HID headlights. Expensive but well worth it in my opinion. I believe the headlights were around 700 but I wanted upgraded ballast so it cost a little more plus whatever the third brake light cost. He sold single chip third brake lights but I wanted the 15 chip ones instead!

Yosi personally built my HIDs as he does each set he sells. Ballast/harnesses/projector with bulbs...I have HID fogs from him and LOVE EM! I can't wait to see them in action with my headlights to and LED sidemarkers/turn signals/reverse lights.

The lights are still in the box and my vette is in my driveway parked....I can't get the damn t hing to run. I did a tune up and have gone thru 3 batteries....I kept getting bad batteries at autozone so today I bought a NAPA one and it cranked right up. It's just running rough as hell. Wouldnt start because the morone sold me the WRONG spark plugs there were to short even though i said 86 vette cast iron heads....wow....anyway, having it towed tomorrow. Starts now but runs REALLY rough....Let a shop take over. Been at it for two weeks with this damn rough running bit. Changed:

Fuel filter
Gas
Spark plugs(twice)
Rotor button
coil(twice, first new coil was bad)
distributor cap
wires
oil/filter
Battery
Cleaned maf
cleaned TB
Chevron techron fuel injector cleaner

Yep, definatley time for a professional. AAA is towing it tomorrow for free from my house to the shop and the shop is doing a FREE diagnositics(great guy and new business!)

There is 4 plug in bulbs and each bulb has 15 smd led chips on it for a total of 60 chips. The bulbs each plug in the stock socket. I am doing a write up/pic show for him on CF and I will post it here to. I can't wait to see them. He said they will be way brighter than stock and the halogens burn out so fast and they are damn expensive! If one of them burn out and the other three on top plus the four regular lights work, you STILL get a ticket for a brake light out!

I hate to suggest this, but search that brand of ballast on one of the civic or other import forums. That kinda upgrade is very popular. If they are rated well, let us know. I am always looking for improvements in lighting.

I do, however, believe that Stern guy that HID isn't apt for the C4 lighting systems.

Ugh, I thought for sure you would know something. Thanks anyway. I did google it. I found alot about there bulbs and they have TOP NOTCH reviews and Yosi says this is the best so I have no reason not to believe him. It was my choice of ballast so he had nothing to gain. Why isn't HID right for the C4? What do you suggest??? I have the Hellas with 90/100 but it's not good enough.

Got my HID kit from Yosi at CorvetteHID last week. Havent got to install them yet. We talked it over and instead of doing 35 watt ballast that he sold, I did 50 watt. Instead of giving me his brand, he said morimoto was the BEST he could get so he wanted to know if I wanted to do that. I said sure.....I got them and they are GORGEOUS. Laser etched emblem and not a sticker. Thats irrelevant though. These ballast, are they any good? I trust yosi with no doubt. He has been VERY good to me. He got me 60 smd leds to fit in my third brake light where the normal four halogens fit. Can't wait to get that installed!!! He was always with me for the past month(july to august) as he built my lights, never left me in the dark, and am ordering Halos from him next week. So about the morimoto ballast. Any information on them from you guys?

Just got word from corvettehid.com that my headlights parts have been ordered and we both agreed we would do a write up. Camera is working, I got the tools to take it apart, and a FSM by my side. lol. I went from the 35 watt ballast to the 50 watt ballast for that extra light! Also got the HID fogs already installed. Clean install but no write up is needed for those. They are just plug n play. Im quite excited about getting them installed. I highly reccomend corvettehid.com

You can go to www.corvettehid.com and email him for details about his parts! Hopefully he will join here soon!!!

P.S. his name is Yosi.

The foglights are just bulbs that go in your sstock housings that use ballast.

The headlights come in new housings with reflectors like the new cars have that give off that purple glare. Non replica HID kit is 700 and the Replica Kit is 600 plus the 50 watt ballast cost 60 dollars extra. Well worth it though. :D

Edit: They do use projectors. Just checked.

Have had 6000 HID foglights for awhile. Way brighter than my 100 watt Hella headlights! Ordered the 6000 headlights with the upgraded 50 watt ballast instead of the 35 watt ballast from corvettehid.com a little bit ago.

Can't wait to get them in. Night time driving sucks and always has with the stock lighting system. Should be about 3 weeks to a month before they arrive though.

It's legal to buy body armor. I already checked. This is the site I am going to order from. Think that their product is the real deal?

I went up there today and yes indeed it was black. Also he said that I was running low on it. He said it was lucky that I brought it in when I did. Could running low on fluid affect anything? He also checked the U joints and other supsention parts for free. Everything looks great he said! He only charged me 70.00 dollars and said if something feels wrong or if I hear any noises, he will tow it back to his shop free of charge.

But back to the main quiestion, what happens when you do drive on low fluid??? He said he saw no visable damage nor did it make any weird sounds...Im just a little paranoid...

Long story short. Ordered wrong headers awhile back and returned them haha. So, these are the headers I found that I THINK will fit my application. It mentions angled spark plugs on aluminum only. It says it fits my year which is a 1986 BUT I have cast iron heads if that makes a difference. Bottom line, my exaust manifolds are cracking and I have used a jb weld mixture to keep them intact. They are that bad off....Will most likely get these jet-hot coated. Hedman elites seem like good headers that are cheap which is what I need right now.

Thanks!!!

The D36 is 24 years old and has 140,XXX miles on it. The fluid is original. The mechanic drained all the fluid out today and said it was pure black. He was shocked the differential didn't overheat! He is checking everything out, replacing the fluid, and resealing it up. He saved the fluid to show me tomorrow. Just a piece of advice, keep an eye on your differential fluid it could be low or dirty.

Have a good and safe weekend everyone!

A LONG time ago, I ordered the AIR eliminator from Midamerica and it was a chrome chinese made piece of shit. I returned it. Just got my eliminator from TPIS and omg...I can't believe it..It's made in the USA!!! I was shocked and it's sooo much better built and the same price! It's just not chrome though. It's a grey color which still looks good!

Long story short: Gutted A.I.R. pump last year and lubed it. AC compressor is shot and no longer works for about a year. Both are squeaking REALLY REALLY bad. I mean bad enough that you can hear it over idle...

Yesterday while driving, BOTH of them apparently locked up and tore the belt all to hell. Is this even possible? Freak Accident? Why would they lock up? Replacing both but damn, that was really scary....

200 for basic porting. 250 for mega porting. Im going with the mega porting and have him port my SLP runners as well. I already have headers, true dual, no cats, flowmaster mufflers. Once the intake is as ported as it can get, I think that will be wrapping it up for me.

I tried porting it myself and it was a disaster. Id rather pay corvetteplenum.com to do it right. He said it will equate to a superram RPM/powerwise while keeping the stock look.....I will see if he will port my stock base for me. Got to return teh runners. I ordered the wrong ones. :-(

What is the difference AND are these right for my 86 corvette? I already ordered them so...lol....I may be returning them. Ones more expensive than the other though. I got the cheaper ones.

For the most part, I would weigh the package, then round up to the nearest pound. Then, take UPS, FedEx and USPS rates from where I live in Torrance (90503) to where I used to live in Delaware (19934). My thinking was that is about as far apart as you can get, then round that up to the next dollar.

Presto, shipping rate.

And I never refunded. It was the rate and that is that.

Sounds fair.
