Its an automatic.....I went to the first dealership. Found a gorgeous rally yellow 65k miles on it, MINT CONDITION, service records from day one in the car and on car fax. Test drove it, ran great.

I tried to negotiate the price down some. They were asking 29 out the door for it because it was fully loaded, one owner, records, free oil changes for 3 years, lifetime free car washes.....I made an appointment with one gentleman but he passed me off to a "new salesman" and kept checking back and fourth when I tried to leave. They offered me 2500 for my 94000 mile 2010 Corrolla S.

I asked for my keys back (they took them to appraise it). We went over why it was worth so little.

Tires will need replacing in 15k miles. Really? We just bought them 6 months ago so I didn't buy that. Severe oil leak when put on lift was discovered. Thats false as well. It never uses a drop of oil. Smokes on startup.

The last part about smoking on startup was because it was 32 degrees outside. I pointed out that other cars were smoking as they were being driven around. The original gentleman came back and said I was wasting his time. I appologized and left with my S/o.

The next day I found a car online went to that dealership after making an appointment.

I told the guy on the phone, I will deal with you from start to finish or I won't come. He agreed.

I asked to have the car at the front ready for my inspection and a plate on it to test drive. I pulled up, the cars in the front and I pull in the spot right beside it. The salesman is standing there waiting for me. He called me to verify appointment and I was about 10 minutes away.

I was super impressed. They appraised my car for $5000.00 while i owed 10k still to the bank on it.

He found none of the other problems with the car but due to the mileage on it, the car being the sport model but not FULLY loaded, and it needed to be detailed inside. (I eat, drive, and basically live in my car due to my jobs traveling!!!).

I wasn't happy about that but I said no credit report running until we get a price. Of course he gives me his BS reasons as to why he has to do it. I flat out tell him "I am a loan officer at a bank, heres my business card, if you want to make a sale today, lets talk, otherwise consult with your manager and you can call me back.

Four and a half hours later (Im tired as i have been negotiating the hell out of this deal, we come to an agreement.

It's not the best deal in the world but I had to get rid of the corolla as the warranty I had gotten expired at 100,000 miles.

Victory red, V6, automatic (also has tap shifting), base model, and only 40,000 miles on it. One owner, records provided, The thing looked like it had never been driven.....I did a full car fax on it at my house vs trusting dealerships that they provided with me. It matched up but I wanted to make sure!

I got approved by the first bank at 5.99% interest.

Out the door I receive 1 year free maintenance (tire oration, oil change, fluid top off). I am openly saying, I did not want that and will not use it. It was a special they had for the month. I declined it but it's still part of the package so they made a few extra bucks off of me.

They informed me I had some of the factory warranty left. 5 year 100,000 mile warranty from Chevy. I purchased GAP insurance as I always do and included in that was a 3 year 36000 mile power train warranty, 12 month, 12,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty, free roadside assistance.

To be perfectly honest, I didn't want any of the extra stuff they kept talking about but I spoke to the salesman, finance officer, then the dealership general manager and said he couldn't take it out, I could sign off as saying I didn't want it but the price would not be changed as the special fell of the following month.

What I don't understand is why it's 5 year 100,000 mile warranty vs 10 year. That threw me off.

I combed through the warranty paperwork for 45 minutes and asked every question imaginable. My father also was there and reviewed it with me. After all clarification and signing it was a done deal.

I did get a brand new set of tires put on the very next morning for free. I believe they are "cooper brand". The old ones had 30-40% life left BUT I did not want to pass up on new tires. Yes, I kept the old ones to!

From full start to finish it was 4.5 hours negotiating. The salesman would run to his manager for EVERYTHING when I rejected, tried to leave, disagreed, or pretty much said anything besides ok. Another two hours to sign paperwork and over an hour of that time was me reviewing and questioning everything I signed, asking for extra copies ect.

Once I signed the last document, it was well past closing time and I could honestly tell they were glad to see me go.

In the end, I feel I got the best deal out of them possible. 24200.00 out the door. I think I did overpay for the car but with the dealers administrative fee, financing charges, gap insurance add-on, the extra warranty I purchased, it could have been slightly cheaper.

One thing that really ticks me off is that he kept telling me I was crazy for not doing this automatic payment plan they offer. It will take out half my payment out of my account twice a month on my paydays. He said it would save me 1800 in interest and cut 6 months off of my loan time.

I said why would i do it through that unknown company when thats what i have done myself on every other car I have financed? He couldn't give me a straight answer.

I pay half my car payment every two weeks and add whatever extra I can at the said time (no more than 25.00 dollars principal only) but it does work and I don't have to have a third party control my payments.

Anyway, I would do anything to get another vette. I miss the 86. It was just to much for me to fix and as my only car and the travel I do, it would have cost me more than I could pay to keep it up and not have a second car.

I miss that car a lot. The guy I sold it to had a friend who was laid off from GM. Last I heard, they rebuilt it and fixed it up real nice.

I think in the next three years, actually I KNOW in the next 3 years, I will be back in a Corvette. Ima hang around here more often (well as often as time permits), and read and learn some more.

I hope everyone has a damn good Sunday. Because MOST OF US DON'T HAVE TO WORK ON WEEKENDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh Bogus, thanks for everything you have done for this community, this site, and a lot of thanks for what you did for me even though you didn't have to. I have a couple weeks vacation for the year, I would really love to meet you and some of the others if anyones interested? Pictures, post, text, emails, thats all great but a real get together just like CF has and/or had every year.

Anyone want to start working on some plans to get it rolling? Maybe someone could start a thread (moderator/administrator) for a corvette forum-guru or whatever the hell else this place is called LOL. ( Just Kidding Andy)!

It needs only work because I am itching to change stuff. I would of rather had a corvette but the insurance was more than the car payment! I shopped around but I am happy to have this. Its only the v6 but a SS spiked up rates to.

Been over a year and you guys are still going strong! Really glad to see going on

I got a timing belt kit and waterpump for out Honda.

I go to orileys. He tells me he has a kit for 40 and a water pump for 30. Both made in china. Pump remanufactured AND PLASTIC INTERNALS? I was like no....i got the AMERICAN made kit for 80 and a new waterpump assembled in America. This pump had metal internals. So my bill almost doubled but I dont want some chinese made sweat shop crap. Anyway, its at griffin brothers right now getting changed.

I new better than to try to do it myself because it wouldnt get done or te engine would blow up....so anyway, they have to add a gallon if antifreeze.

Heres the kicker. The car was boiling hot last night. Had to drive it home put turn it off every two minutes. Its either the pump or thermostat. Im doing the tstat myself! napa has a americanmade one to. I was pleased because the chinese stuff breaks. Ill spend a few dollars more because everytime and i mean everytime i go cheap, im screwed....not this time though! No sir, got it done right. Im going to change the oil when i get it hime. Napas wick filters Are great!!! American made!!!

Im not being racist but i dont need an 8 year old making a nickel a day making my car parts.

Please excuse my typing errors. My cell is acting a big slow and not typing right.

So the timing belt has made it to 183,000 miles. I asked for the old parts back. Ii wanna see the abuse it took. Its not broken but mantenance.

So I bought bulletproof vest and it was pointless

I know. Stupid. My parents were the ones who convinced me to do it. I work at a Wells Fargo. The bank RIGHT ACROSS the street from us got robbed. Our personal bank by our house was robbed three times. Never caught anyone.......Shots were fired.

So, my parents tell me to get a Level II bulletproof vest. I did and it's well built by point blank with soft trauma plate.

Our bank is installing bulletproof glass around us......Second, if we get robbed, they can take the whole vault full of cash because it's not mine...My life is to important.

It fits great and is completely concealable. When the air is on, it feels amazing but during summer, I was sweating beads.

Is it safe to say, I want to sell it because the bulletproof glass is similar to a level III. It's thick and our door is sealed from the outside......

I feel dumb now for doing it. It will stop a 357 but really, it's like major paranoia and I am not going to be a hero for the bank. We are trained to cooperate fully and I have a secret silent alarm as well as others.

I posted it on ebay to see if I could get rid of it. Im ashamed to say I bought it now that I think about it.

Live and learn I suppose. BTW, working at a bank ROCKS!!!

Two new cars (new to me)

I got a 2009 Laredo with 58K miles on it. It was driven by a handicapped lady. She accidentally left her medical paperwork in the car. I shredded it quickly. She also left ALL the oil change, diff fluid change, etc. in there to. The car went from NY to here. Had one owner. It runs great. it's 4x4 but it either is all the time or comes on automatically. It's quadtech 1 I believe. I was wondering how it worked. Was it all the time or just when tractions lost. I did find out when tractions lost, it puts all power to the wheel with the most traction.

Second car, picked up from my sister. 2004 Honda Civic with 180,000 miles on it on the dot. It had it's oil changed every 3000 miles ON THE DOT with Napa filters.

The transmission was slipping just a tiny bit. Put lucas in it and it shifts SUPER NICE now.

We are changing the plugs, fuel filter, tires, brakes, ect asap.

I want to get the tranny fluid changed with a new filter. It's never been changed. I will NOT flush it either. I know lucas was just a band aid but the transmission was not really truly slipping per say. Just a tiny notch that is not noticeable until you really pay attention to it.

The car is flawless in everyother aspect. The gas milage is AMAZING. We run it on premium only.

My sister ONLY used premium on it. She bought it brand new off the lot in 2004 and then I picked it up. It's just the basic motor automatic. It's the Ex model so it's not the fully loaded model or anything.

Like I said, it runs great but changing the tranny fluid, is that bad? It's not burnt but looks dirty. I know it's still a good tranny though. I figured we could get 300,000 miles out of the whole car since it's only had 1 owner.

Also, most miles on it. Probably at least 75,000 miles are highway only. If that matters, lol. It did get a new paintjob awhile back for cosmetics. We had it professionally cleaned and it looks brand new inside.

Just curious about the fluid though....Hmmm.

I know there is a lot of rumors about flushing and fluid. I think it's BS about changing the fluid and filter. Flushing, I don't know about but I am not going that far. It might disturb some things.

As for the jeep, I got sideswiped on july 25th. It was at about 35 MPH. She hit my passenger door. They painted the whole side, replaced door/rear bumper, gave me an alignment, a new front rim, did mechanical/electrical test on it, etc..

Everything was great. When I first got it, I changed the oil that day with Mobil 1 synethic and NAPA filter.

I also replaced the air filter to even though it was spotless clean. I just like to know MY STUFF is on it. It was run on synthetic it's whole life and only serviced at a Chrysler dealership in NY and NC.

It was a big joke with them. They had the H3 looking all nice, parents put a deposit down for me so theyd hold it so I could test drive it then get it. I checked it out witha fine tooth comb.

Problems: heated seats did not work, tires had bad places on them, rear seatbelt was jammed stuck, brake pads were thin, rotors were slightly warped, transmission fluid smelled burnd and was NOT red.

We got the deposit back. The Laredo is real nice. It has real time 4X4 so it has no button or levers to pull.

2009 said it is 48% power up front and 52% back. It looks great. I changed the oil, dealership was great, records, tires were new, fully loaded. Just a great all around car. I was looking for bling I guess. I am glad I found this. I do believe it's reliable.

I don't miss the corvette either. I would love to have another one but I don't miss my old one....Way to many problems and money wasted. It did teach me though. Glad to be back on the forum a little more.

Im still in college, engaged still lol, new jeep as you know about, familys great. I have a niece and a nephew. They are doing pretty good.

Im quite pleased with my life right now. I know I will have some more hardships down the road but who cares, thats life.

Also picked up another job. The grocery store did not work out but God blessed me and I found a good bank to work at. I am starting out as a teller but with my small bit of education, it could be worse. Still getting my degree(s).

So how is everyone else doing???

BTW, I did hear that the Jeep motor in the Laredo was a tough one to kill. It's the V6 model with an automatic transmission. I belive it's quadtech What do you think about the motors and everything? 56K miles was a steal in my opinion!

Cheers guys!!! Im off to do my small business managment test. 50 multiple choice/true false/essays. Wish me luck!!!

Well ladies and gentleman. I am pulling off the final parts off the car. I have made 2000 dollars parting out the 86'. She will be missed. It's really hard to see her go but the junkyard is coming to pick her up as soon as I finish getting parts off. 350.00 cash plus free tow......It's been a great time and I will keep check on you guys....Alot lol. I never left, just didn't have anything to add but I am now Corvette-less. I will get another corvette within the next 5 years....I know it. I spent alot of time trying to make this thing run. I wanted to make it perfect....The car just couldn't be worked on. I went through numerous parts, mechanics, and bills....Hopefully who ever gets the remaining parts will fix their C4 vette before she hits the crusher.

I am thinking about a 98 or 99 C5. I don't care for the C6's but I love the C5...Later model C5 should be fine with all the gremlins worked out.

God bless the C4 because when she did run, she ran like a bat out of hell....She just didn't run more than 2 weeks at a time....

Cheers gentleman!!!

I tried to edit out the above thread but could not figure out how to do it. It would be great if a moderator could lock this thread as nothing is left for sale....

HID headlights. Retailed at over 1000 a set. You get everything you need to plug these bad boys in....No headlight motors or covers are included. You have to reuse your own motors and cover. Duh, the cover is the color of your car now....

5000K 35 watt ballast made of stainless steel. Clear lenses. Hardly used. Low/High beam. Projector casing made for HID bulb. Custom made for the C4 vette. Came from an 86. Not sure what it fits up to. I believe 88.

http://www.corvettehid.com/cart/index ... aedf456829e3b14de7d9dc60b

875.00 shipped to the lower 48 states but I am willing to hear reasonable offers. If your not truely interested in purchasing them, then don't post...Want to keep it a clean thread for serious buyers only.

Thank you!!!!!!!

I am going a different route that will be even better for me. I can tack on the headlight motors for a little bit of extra $$$.

P.S. When I say hardly used, I truely mean used like two times. Very very bright....

Can't get the stupid fuel pump to turn on for two seconds. Have hot wired it so it's not the pump itself, no loose/damaged wires, FP is good, ALL relays related to it are good, trust me, I checked. Got plenty of gas. Just not getting the pump started. Why won't it turn on. It's got power, fuses are good. If I just knew that one little thing that's making it misbehave, I could make the fue pump turn on.

P.S. I am selling the corvette. Sorry, I am getting it a decent paintjob and away it goes. Im tired of not being able to drive this car. Out of 7 years, I have not even gotten to drive it for 4 months straight without a problem. Im tired of replacing NEW STUFF with more new stuff. The car blows things up. No mechanics want to touch it. Even the chevy place turned me away after being up there so much. It's a lemon....Found a Early 2000s Mach1. Pretty sweet. Checking into that right now. Won't be up for sale anytime soon soon but soon enough to where I am looking....Sorry chevy but you failed me.

Don't go on the rant about C4s need tender love and care. I built this car up from ground up. New parts fail and then are replaced with more new parts and I want a car that's going to drive for 3 months straight without a breakdown and call AAA or have to change something.

It's not my fault or the mechanics. It's just nobody wants to touch THIS specficic car because it's never done blowing things up. There are no shorts left, no relays blown. It's just something all the time.

Your C4s break alot of but near as much as mine.

Thats why I have not been on here in awhile. Just had to back away from the corvette thing for a bit. I gave it evertyhing I had.

I calculated EVERY SINGLE PENNY including tax from age 17 to this day right here and now fo that car.

I paid 10,000 for it.

After all parts, labor, warranties....34,703.89 Yep, over 3 times as much as I paid for the car in almost 7 years. That is NOT including my labor I put into it. I did 94% of the actual labor and bought parts on sale, in group purchases ect. This was all nessecary stuff.

That does not include the stupid stuff I put on it...So don't bring that into the equation as I was young and energetic and made most of that back up by selling the old/leftover parts.

I am debating on just stripping it for parts down to the bare frame. I could make some $$$ and buy the mach1 I suppose....Lot of new parts.....

Help me get the pump fixed so I can get a buyer!!!

So anyway awhile back I tried to jump off my car, the batery sparked and fried two relays behind the battery. The fuel pump relay and the oil pressure relay or is it the sending one.

Now it wont start again. Trying to get codes with a scanner I got to rent. Paperclip method isn't working for me lol.

Any idea why it's not starting after that stupid battery "fried" stuff.

Everything else is good and cranks over. Got a new battery and it's great

It's soooo close to starting. Just one little thing is missing and it's NOT fuel. I don't know if it's spark or air. Plugs are getting spark. ugh......

Help me....

By internal and external, do you mean one is inside the other one, like sleeved?

Maybe post a picture? That might help us see whatever it is in case it's hard to describe.

YES! Ill try to get a pic tomorrow. It's pouring down rain here, the basement is covered in water and so is the garage....Dang storm....

Bottom radiator line. Not hose. It's the internal line and the external line. Internal is leaking. Can I take it out. Took the external one out and used teflon tape on it. Don't want to yank the internal radiator LINE out (notice not hose), and tighten it up or will it yank something out. Don't want to go down a bad path. Hmm.....

Just a' leaking water/antifreeze sjeez.

P.S. I had no idea I had a tranny cooler. The damn tranny line to the radiator busted on my driveway. LMAO. Then the hose I got for the basic C4 doesn't fit. I have to get hte one for hte sports package yet I didn't see the sticker where it would say it's the sport package. Weird huh?

Won't touch used motor oil. Sorry but in the future when I can afford to replace cars or motors, then I will consider it. I DO recycle ALL of my used motor oil properly. Never pour it out in the yard or drain. I am a firm believer in recycling. Always have been and always will be.....Please folks, recycle your oil. It's FREE OF CHARGE to you. If you get caught pouring it into the enviroment, your looking at big fines....

Grocery stores spend 5 cents on recycled bags but they charge 1.00 for you to purchase it. They then try to say be more green by not using their paper or plastic bags.

They get 95 cent profit per reusable bag and save an additional 3 cents per plastic bag and 15 cent per paper bags that are NOT used due to the reusable ones. Plus they have their logo/name/go green signs on the bags so it's extra advertising. Im just saying the "go green" by companys is just for publicity. im all for the go green but I don't buy the lies they say.....

Racetronix has good parts but getting a bigger fuel pump wont help give you performance. If nothing else, get it for the quality workmanship/customer service. Might be helpful in the future if you do a bigger motor. Save time/money.

I joined trapster online through my Iphone and I love it. Great community just like you guys. It's a application/website designed to let other drivers know where speed traps/red light cameras/speed cameras/check points are.

Let me state this very clearly. This app/website is NOT to help you speed or drive drunk. It's to help the drivers work together to create a safer driving experience. If you slow down before you get to a speed trap, you don't get a ticket and you could save a life by not speeding. The less you speed, the more it becomes a NATURAL habit.

I am a moderator on the site so I enforce the rules/policies/ and am more than happy to help/answer quiestions, comments, or concerns. Please consider joining the sight even if you don't use the application.

Again, this is NOT to help you speed or avoid tickets or to piss off cops. If you are looking for that kind of help, trapster is not for you and you will not be welcome on the boards. Any degrading of cops, bosting about beating tickets or DWIs WILL get you banned permanently. The forum there is alot like our forum here and I would really love to have you guys check it out.

It's about safety. It's free to join, great guys to talk to, and meet new people in your area. We even have LEO's on the site and they think it's a good idea!

www.trapster.com

https://getsatisfaction.com/trapster

Lastly but not least, I do not promote speeding or anything but I do believe we can do good without speedtraps as most are used for revenue. If you speed, you pay the price but don't make someone else pay the price for you because you hit there car, ran over there child, or drove a car into there house.

My screename is nc_kid if you want to pm me there and need any assistance. Thank you!

P.S. I have been working on my vette alot and have not been on. Great things happening guys!!! Save The Wave!

No not really but damn close! My mechanic told me I needed a new intake manifold gasket and it would cost 300.00 bucks. Said it was replaced two years ago, drive it home, spray some carb cleaner on the runners where some research told me the runner gaskets were the culprit....Low and behold, the idle RAGED UP and went back down. 12.00 and 1 hour of time saved me 300 dollars and two days of work.

Damn leaky runner gaskets just didn't fit right and now all is well again......

If you look side to side without moving your head, it's still blurry since theres no glass on the side I can't wear my Rayband Aviators my gf got me. Shes not to happy about it.

Gf: I wasted 150.00 on something you won't wear?

Me: I have glasses. Cant wear contacts

Gf: Oh, well thats different but I am still sad.

Me: Women: Cant live with em and can't live without em

Early Birthday Present To Myself. I have -4.15 Vision in contacts and glasses. My allergies have been so bad that my eyelids looked like "cobblestone" according to my Eye doctor of 8 years. I trust this man with my life. Hes great, honest, fair and a good man. I researched doctors and the surgeon I found is in charlotte. Hes #1 in NC and apparently one of the top surgeons in US.

Dr Chrisenburry. He does custom Ilasik so that means the surgery is made for MY eyes and not that generic Lasik. It's pretty new but 98% of his patients get 20/20 or better. 50% have gotten better than 20/20.

I got my FREE consultation. Great employees, great surgeon. Had a ton of test done on my eyes. My corneas are good and thick and I am a great canidate. I get 6 months of free visits/follow ups and free touch up surgery if needed.

Anyone have Ilasik bladeless surgery? My appointmens is June 7th. Put down my payment and I am ready to go!

Inputs???

I love my 24 lb BOSCH IIIs on my MILDY modded L98. Best thing I ever did and have not looked back. Stocks were 22 but I had the ECM tuned for 24s and not a single problem yet. Runs a hell of a lot better than with the facotry ones. They were just worn out.

On another note, the IIIs are alot quiter compared to the facotry injectors. No annoying TICK TIC TICK.

I also have a transmission lock in the mail. It goes over my auto transmission shifter. Case hardened blah blah blah.

The thing is, Im not worried about my car being stolen it's the point of being vandalised/being broken into. It's happening at school and we have full security guards plus 2 resource officers.

They STILL havent caught them and the cars they hit do not have alarms. It's crazy. They are using a fork thats been modified to act as a slim jim yet it has damaged two cars they broke into.

Only thing I don't want messed with is my CD player..I don't keep all that stuff in my car but regardless, I get a insurance discount and it pretty much pays for itself with the alarm system.

The tint is really really good guys. Viper sells it but I got it from my local tint shop. It's security film not colored tint. It cut out "some" heat from my experience but you can tell it will holt it together so I just had two layers slapped on and the second layer was half price.

The guy installing it has installed thousands of vipers and only reccomends them. He is setting the sensitivity to not be so sensitive that it's bothersome but will still do it's job. Some peopl eget theirs set to the max sens and when it drizzles, it keeps setting it off. If mine is bumped, tilted, glass touched/cracked it goes off.

Cheers!

At school cars are being picked with a fork. 6 cars have been broken into and they can't catch the jerk. I just bought a viper alarm system.

TWO avenger sirens

Two pain sirens in the car that will litterally kill your ears. One on each side of the car hidden

Back up battery

Steel battery shield

glass sensor for broken glass

Interior force field in case anything moves

Tilt sensor for jacking up/towing

License plate bolts that have a special key

Lock bolts on my rims

Led interior light

Two layers of protection film but they are transparent so they affect no daytime/nighttime vision at all and I am happy wit that. 100% legal!

Both hornes are tied in with the other four alarms.

Led taillights/HID foglights will flash.

It is SO loud, anyone will run like a bat out of hell.

I just need to figure out how they are using a fork to jimmie open the doors and block that.

Im not being paranoid but truthfully, I don't keep valuablesin my car but I will be damned if someone breaks into my car to steal my CD player/stereo. I got insurance on it but I want to know if someones messing with it. I am in the classroom right by my car at school so I can certainly hear it and the same at home.

You can think I took it overboard but I am very pleased.

I also get a slight discount on my insurance after my agent verifies my alarm!!

Win/Win situation....

Anyone like their viper alarm because mine rocks!!!

You can do what a long ago CF'r did... he used some super glue stuff to reinforce the upper flat surface of the front bumper with metal plates. This kept it from sagging. I don't know how it held up.

Mine was severely damaged. Way back, our neighborhood got hit by some vandalisers. One guy was a security installer and he had secuirty cameras around his house also because his kids played outside. Cameras couldn't pick up who did it clear enough and 2 of them were damaged while attached to his house. They tore up alot of neighbors stuff. My vette was included. Took a crowbar to the front of it and cracked it right down the center on the bumper. It's unrepairable....I got away with the least damage though. One guys boat that was parked on his trailer got damaged severely. Couple cars got broken into. Never did catch the crooks who did it but it also never happened again. Pretty bad when I live across from a church and we all look out for each other. My neighbors consister of retirees, school teachers, ect. Good honest clean people. If I lived in the ghetto, then I could understand it but it's in the past.

Unfourtanatley, they do not have my bumper but the prices are still pretty good for some things I am looking into.

Heres the overview and just need some thoughts.

Maaco is painting the car. Don't care if you're brothers aunt's uncles cousins friends sisters husband got a terrible paintjob. If you aint had experience directly with the Maaco I am going to *Charlotte*, then there is no comparision. Different painters. I checked them out and they seem to be ok.

First, I have to fill a hole in the hoodmyself.

Put my new bumper from Ecklers on.

Wash car with Dawn Soap to remove old wax buildup.

Inspect car with cloth glove on to determine unseen dents.

Compound it as much as I can to get to the part the paints going to be applied to.

The cars black, the paints oxidized beyond reconiction. Body is in good shape. I am just getting a spray of the SAME COLOR over the black it is now. No painting red over black like some people do.

Once I get it cleaned and compounded, I am removing some of the trim and I am going to tape it off myself most likely before it gets handed to them.

Clean, compounded, and body work done by myself. Can a spray over actually look attractive? It's not like it's peeling. It's just oxidized down to nothing....Smooth and solid...just white....very very white.

Thoughts? No I am not sanding it btw. To much risk, nowhere to do it, and it's a daily driver. I aint wanting a 6000 dollar paintjob.....

Are you referring to the hose itself or the grommet in the valve cover? There is no grommet for the TB, it it a metal nipple that extends out of the TB.

You can get a replacement grommet in the help section at any parts store. If you can't find an exact one, get one a size bigger, slice it in the middle and cut out the section needed to make it fit.

Matthew

Thanks. I did that. It's not a great fit but it'll do better than the old one. Just hadnt logged back in to update.

The passenger side has a hole in the valve cover with a hose that leads to the throttle body. The rubber gromet that goes in the TB is shot. I can't find one that fits right. Someone told me to put a breather on it but that still doesn't get the air to the throttle body.

If you go bigger injectors, get a tune or you will be running rich as heck. PCMforless did mine. I did 24 over 22 because I am mildy modded and it's tuned for it. Few more mods and I will upgrade to 26 or 28 if need be.

Also, replace the o rings and fuel filter. Fuel filter thats bad can ruin new injectors. I took mine off and dirty gas poured out of it! I only use BP premium and it runs well on that....

BTW, welcome!

Anyway, I picked up guns about last year. I posted about it before but I just wanted to say an update.

I got my ccw permit, carry most of the time except when my nephew who is only five is in the car. With him, the doors are locked and I have pepper spray. No guns around him and he does not know I have any. They are locked in a gun safe in my closet which is also locked.

I am about to get a mossberg 12 gauge shotgun for home protection for my family and me and my dad want to go duck hunting sometimes

I joined the NRA and the NC sherrifs association. The NCSA provides my money to the court for protection and gives away scholarships. I searsched it before I joined and it really does help guys get scholarships for LE in the deputys. Money well spend IMHO.

Anyway, who hear owns something? You don't have to post if you have a ccw. I have a motto that I use around town. It's called "CANT". Carry Always, Never Tell. Nobody knows who I am on this site so I don't mind talking about it.

Just throw out your favorites. I like revolvers and the SAA cowboy styles personally. I don't like rifles. Love shotguns.

Not a deer hunter as they are too beautiful for me to hunt. I love duck. Yummy.

Anyone seen the judge? I almost bought it but backed out at hte last minute. 45 LC and 410 shotshells. The shotshells arnt big but they will tear a snake or a varmit to shreds if need me for protection.

I LOVE the seats. They sit directly on the floor. About half an inch from it. The stock seats sat about 2-3 inches higher up? They are super tight and you have to fall in the car if your older to get into them. I wouldnt trade em for nothing. I took a hard left turn on a piece of property a few days ago and did a 360 and I did not move one inch out of the seat. Stock seats were slicker than a new born babys bottom!

P.S. The interior is still in progress. As you can tell I have not put back on the Bread box eliminator. All the interior is carbon fiber. I was polishing the breadbox eliminator to give it some more shine so that gapping hole is not there to stay! The carpets dirty but thats because it has not been vacumed. It's all brand new carpet. It was taken in my garage with the lights/windows off/closed so it looks more happy in the sunlight.

Seriously though, if you can get the A4s. You have to drill some holes and have small hands but it's worth it. i almost gave up but I gave it one last shot and got them in. I locktighted teh bolts as well and got the double sliders. I feel they are much more secure and safer than stock seats in racing or in a wreck. I kept my stock seatbelts but I just died them so they look new. I may get a crossbar/5 point harness but right now, I am happy and just want to enjoy it. Id always keep the stock belts regardless of harness's but I am not into racing yet and would rather practice on a desserted piece of land to get the feel and know the car better.

Let me say also, the dynamat was very cheap from amazon and it cut down on the heat from the transmission tunnel way down. Before without carpet when I drove it around, it was a level 9 out of 10 on the heat scale. It's now a level 2 on the heat scale. Big difference.

No more rattles and the exaust went from a 8 inside to a 4. It's hard to work with and very sticky. It's permanent guys but well worth it.

I have talked to TPIS and am going to go with their miniram intake EVENTUALLY. I am saving up for all the parts at once. Heads, cam, injectors, upgraded fuel pump, intake, fuel lines ect. Im not going to nickel and dime the intake this time around. Waste of money and time.

That might happen next year in the winter as a project.

I am also on the verge of getting TPIS headers. I am going to put those on. Put a cat on each outlet and then run true duals through that.

Before you say anything about just one main cat, I thought about it. Im not going that way. Let me explain why

Im not going to lie. I have started to care about the enviroment alot more. Running no cats is not for me. Why am I doing two cats? I want true duals AND it's better for the enviroment. It may not make a big difference but I think every little bit helps. May be wasting money in others opinion but I don't want to live in a smog filled hot planet and I am doing my share. Plus the cats might rob 3 hp. The body can't tell a increase until in gets in the high teens or low 20s in power. Big deal about 3 hp.

Regardless, I am quite pleased and want to make my car a little better for the planet and have the exaust I WANT.

Just an FYI, guys who run no cats, think about it. Do you want your kids/family or even yourself in the late future to live in smog? Not me. I didn't care before but now I do....Google it. I did and it changed my thoughts completly.

Bogus can explain better than I can. Bogus, if your reading this would you please put your .02 cents on running cats. I would greatly appreciate it. You can run one main cat if you choose to. Anything helps and it robs almost nothing with random tech cats.......

To big but i can't get them to downsize anymore. My stupid photobucket is not cooperating. Anyway, theres the Corbeau seats bolted in and ready to go. New rotors/painted calipers, just took a few snaps. Im about ready for lunch and I am applying RainX and Invisable Glass so I will shoot some more later when I pull it out.

About to pick up a PCV for the left valve cover. I am sure mine is shot and it's a little oily and it's the OEM one...It's only 3 dollars so what the heck, Ill do it and use 2 minutes of my time. ))
