Especially considering the first one was the first Grand I won in my life. I don't think God had anything to do with it since He is not a big supporter of games of chance, at least that I know of. But just in case ..... Thank God! ... Though the Church is known to support an occasional raffle .

I quit while I'm ahead if I win big. Like more than a couple of G's, I'm done. Sue got a call while she was at the card table from the casino. You can't talk on the phone at the table but staff told her to answer it. It was a personalized casino host asking Sue if there was anything she could do for her. Free hotel stay for an extended period was one thing. LOL Ya, why don't you stay here, at the casino. We both have comps for free rooms at the hotel. Sue has 3 anytime days and I have 2 midweek days. Nice rooms that go for over $500-800 a night average but we have the critters at home to care for. It's a 1 hour drive away so I drive up and Sue drives back. Not bad really. All the big checks are going to the bank and the gambling wallet is nice and fat so we can easily play through the end of the year for sure. All we can hope for is lots of luck. Lady Luck or Luck be a Lady?

If bad things comes in 3's apparently good things can come in 3's. Against the odds I won yet a second Grand Jackpot for $10,200. Just 3 days after getting the other one. I was in shock to say the least. Of course I asked for a check. Played a few spins more while waiting for the payoff and then quit for the night. The name of the game is Mighty Cash Ultra.

Back in my military heydays I started going to the gym to play racketball on in indoor 4 walled court. I got to be in tip top shape. The best shape I was in in my life. I went to the Y as a teen and played basketball and learned to swim there when I was younger still. I lifted weights, wrestled, played seasonal sports like tag football, regular football with no equipment, baseball, whiffle ball, hand ball and street hockey. I've always stayed in decent shape. Hell I could even kick Matt's ass if he were sleeping. I'm still an old man trying to do a young man's job.

Hello everybody. Nothing to report other than routine chores. Thanksgiving is coming on strong. Having a family get together but the family is noticably smaller. Christikkah/Hanumas party is being planned as well. It to will be impacted by the depature of many regular attendees. Our circle of friends gets smaller and smaller every year. I've been having some bad dreams of late. Hope this phase passes quickly. I like dreaming.

On a roll ....... I had the good fortune of being in the right place at the right time last night. I won my first GRAND Jackpot ever. 50+ years of gambling and finally I got a great payday. $2.00 bet. $12,294.73 after the round played through. Told them to cut me a check and I was done for the night. Slot attendant told me "Good move."

GRIS, I find your first ost odd.

Sue had minor surgery yesterday morning on her scalp. While at the doctors office I got a call about the death of a family friend that was being buried yesterday afternoon. The person died on Thursday. The Jewish way is to bury them as soon as possible. That's the way I want to go. No drawn out aftermath. For me, fire up the oven. Ashes to ashes. Then set up a party for friends and family so they can say stuff like, "He was a nice guy but could be a bit of an asshole."

I have some good news and some bad news. Bad news first. The wind and the rain yesterday had Sue close early around noon. Today the yard is flooded but not as bad as it could be. We probably got around 7". My yard floods badly at 9" of rain. So at least it's not in the garage. That's a good thing. Lots of crap has to be picked up around the yard from 40 mph winds. Sue thought we should maybe go hang at the casino for a few hours yesterday afternoon/evening. Why not? S#!++y day anyway. I had $40 in free play. I watched Sue play for a bit then walked over to an empty bank of machines. Played my $40 between two machines and turned it into $500. Sue went over to the card tables. She played 3 card poker for a bit then changed over to Ultimate Hold'em after the dealer that was giving her some good cards on 3 Card poker moved over there. After several hands she called me with some urgency and screamed "Get over here". Upon my arrival I see everybody just standing around. The dealer, the supervisor and the pit boss. The dealer dealt Sue two diamonds. Next came the flop. 3 more diamonds. Not only was it 3 more diamonds but it was a straight too making it a straight flush. Sue routinely plays $5 for the progressive jackpot and that is constantly climbing till it's hit. She tell me she just hit for 77. I say " What, $7700. No she says. $77,000. WOW! Took about 1/2 hour to verify and pay. After taxes she netted over 60k with the jackpot and the board pay. We played for a couple more hours and went home with a 50k check and 10k cash. So what was the good news? I came out $400 ahead by the end of the evening. ... I told my good friend Eddie about it. His comment. "Great! That will pay for her teeth."

Raindops are fallin on my head ..... It's rainin again ..... Sue brought home a two year old stray dog the other day. Little guy around 20 lbs. She's trying to acclimate him to the other two dogs. He's a little fiesty. A couple of weeks ago she brought in two year old cat that had been living in a garage. She just can't say no.

I remember when I was younger I found something to celebrate everyday. Life was a never ending party ... till it wasn't. Haven't had a drink in over 20 years now. Never told myself I would abstain forever, I just didn't drink. Took several tries but I succeeded. I gave myself an out. For my 70th birthday I'd allow myself to drink if I wanted to. May or may not have one but that day I'll have an option. Life has been good since I put the plug in the jug. Not sure I'd want to f@(% that up. Just in case though I have some Johnny Walker blue label, gold label and a bottle of Jim Beam. When I stopped my beverage of choice was Jack Black and beer chasers. That combo launched the Irish and Hungarian in me LOL .... Dangerous combo

Why is it that minor repairs can be a such a big pain in the ass? I figured 15-30 minutes. ..... Wrong.

Went to bed at 09:00 PM last night. A rare occurance for me . Slept till 06:00. Had a much needed good night's sleep. Worked on the home based riding lawnmower yesterday. Now I'm just waiting on the new deck belt. Hopefully that will be all that's left to do on it. Today, a minor skidsteer repair then pack the piles of yard debris I made into the trash cans and dispose of the big stuff. I'll see what I can get into after that. Bored? Me? .... Never.

A salute to my brothers and sisters in arms. Just remember that citizens of the United States wouldn't be able to do all this fucked up shit if it weren't the ones that sacrificed their time, effort and in many cases their lives to make freedom ring.

They sure have some funny looking combines in Arkansas. You have to love the media. They are so stupid that it's funny. Pics don't match the story. Addresses are often misspoken. They don't know a 5th wheel from a ferris wheel. Often write a short story on something that should take a paragraph. And .... This is a developing story. We will inform you as the details emerge.

Still feeling energy challenged. Hope this isn't my new norm.

Could be low fluid in the slave cylinder. I've had a couple of them replaced in my 90.

Spent most of the day at the nursery while Sue spent most of her day in the doctor's offices. Took care of a half dozen customers while I waited for the mechanic to show up and work on the skidsteer. He didn't show up till 03:00 and I was at the nursery at 10:30 AM. Like I was telling my friend Eddie, "I don't want to work I just want to bang on the drum all day." I shouldn't complain, emphasis on the word "shouldn't". I'm working the least I've worked in my lifetime. Striving to be 97% work free. (Chores don't count)

Cool and crisp outside this morning. Started off mid 60's and headed to mid 80's with reduced humidity here in the tropics. Having lived in Florida for 44 years my blood has lost it's tolerance for cold weather but I can get used to it gradually. I also have a closet full of clothes that can handle temps from 0* to 100+*. Comes in handy when we go to Alaska where we often woke up to the 40's. Haven't been around snow in awhile nor do I look forward to it. It all goes back to 1978 when I came down for Christmas to visit the inlaws. After opening presents we laid around the pool and jumped in every once in awhile. Fired up the bbq and lounged around drinking adult beverages in the afternoon. It was then that I had the reckoning that I could get used to this. Through the years I learned to suffer the Florida summers to get to treat of Florida winters. People of means have figured out how to escape the summer and return for the winter. Hence the name snowbirds. The snowbirds have returned. Unfortunately millions of others have found out the secret I learned back in 78 and flocked to Florida to live year round. Now overcrowded and laying the natural habitat and farmland to waste, this once beautiful sanctuary is now littered with housing developments and shopping centers. Some call it progress. I say it's getting progressively worse. Wow ..... Where did all that come from?

I wish I had the patience to read books. Instead I read articles that I can get through in a few minutes from a wide spectrum of topics. "I know a little about a lot and a lot about a little."

That is one ugly sweater there Letty.

Cleaning house today I guess since it's windy and overcast. Whatever the priority is. A clean home is a happy home. Of course mine only gets to be about the 80% clean. Dust and dog fur are the main culprits.

As a Catholic I find that joke highly offensive. But according to the last priest I talked with I'm not a Catholic. I have my own religion. So I guess it's OK then.

Replaced 3 outdoor spotlights yesterday that were retired due to age and condtion. Nice light weight plastic replacements with LEDs. Today is flush the water system, replace the filter and add salt to the conditioner. Keeping busy is easy for me. More to do than time or energy allows.

Took care of the morning chore list. Getting ready to kick in some afternoon chores. It's freakin hot. High of 87 but there is a cool front coming soon so I'm very optimistic. I was reading about dessets that once had rivers and people of European decent living in China 4000 years ago. Recently saw some aerial shots near Mount Ararat of the possible remains of Noah's Ark. They found some bones and food remains that are being analyzed. The point being maybe the world was once covered in water so if the ice caps melt it's just history repeating itself. With all the smart people in the world humans really do some stupid stuff.

Howdy! Got up before 06:00 AM. Had a delivery in Key Largo. I got to drive across 18 miles of undeveloped land on part of the road known as the 18 mile stretch. That used to be known as suicide alley till about 20 years ago they divided the road with a concrete barrier. They also put up fencing on both sides of the road that takes away from the natural beauty but I think they did that to keep humans out and critters in. Did the morning animal feedings then laid down for a couple of hours for a nap. Of course the phone had to ring but I didn't answer it then resumed napping. Now to wake up again and take on a chore or two. Slow and steady win the race. Waiting for the coffee to kick in.

Dreary here. Had a rough day yesterday. Took RR#1 out for some driving lessons. She's nervous as is and needed to do some highway driving and merging. Got off the freeway and when stopped at the bottom of the ramp got rear ended by a private ambulance trying to beat the light. Great. Probably 3k in damage but no injuries. He swerved at the last minute so it sort of glanced off the back corner. Still not fun. She was pretty traumatized but better that I was with her. I am waiting for their insurance company to calle back.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Oops. Forgot to mention my exciting morning appointment at the dermatologist. Multiple freezes and 4 biopsies. We'll see what the future holds. Probably a couple of Mohs surgeries. Whoo-hoo! Glad I went though. Skin cancer can be a killer.

Sonny-boy is still in the wind. It's hard to know what to think when someone just up and disappears. Though he has a wide network of people willing to help him, he shuns asking for much. And if he did it was usually it was from Sue and I. I've helped him througout his life when I could but his thought processes are nothing like mine. Some apples don't fall far from the tree but with Daryl, he is in another orchard. What is a parent to do? "You can lead them to water but can't make them drink." I stay strong because I am strong. Like Letty, life gave me a bounty of many experiences. Not all of them pleasant. Oh well. ...... We now resume our regular program. Pick a screen.

Health mojo sent for Rosie. Hope she's feels better soon. I wish Covid would go find some cold dark bat cave to go hide in.

U of M and Clemson game had a nail biter ending last night. Watched it on the big screen at Hard Rock Hollywood last night. Something for the fans in SoFlo to cheer about after the coaches threw the last two games by making critical errors. Go Dolphins. I'm watching football a little more this year after I walked away from the kneelers a few years back.

LOL. I've been a little short with people lately especially when they seem confused about resolving what I consider to be simple problems. Like the ya mons say. There are no problems, only solutions.

Goomornin.

Drizzly and grey outside. Not too motivated right now so I'll have to dig deep to find my get up and go before it got up and went. I always have things to do. It's always just a matter of doing them. 5 more days before I can resume heavier lifting and more strenuos activity. Playing by the rules here. Though rain may change my course of action to undercover activities.
