Here's my take on it.
They'll try to corner the auto-enthusiast/auto sales net market, try to build it up by cross linking and selling ad space (the pop-ups and such), then in a few years, attempt to sell at a HUGE profit. They're not auto enthusiast, they're business people...and arrogant ones at that! I sent them a direct e-mail the other day and still haven't heard back. If the other buy-outs go as the corvette forum did, they'll be buying empty lots before long...  Unfortunately, there will always be newbies that don't know the truth or have never known the "old ways" and those people will allow companies such as IB to survive  As long as people such as Troy and the rest are willing to sell out (not that I blame him mind you), there will always be room for new, personalized enthusiasts sites such as this and a few others.

They're pretty much thier own version of CF The mods and admins on CF have gotten nutz! But it too will survive if for no other reason than the newbies that will ultimately sign on oblivious to the rudeness imposed on others. They'll either be assimilated or run.... There's room for more mainstram sites as Andy aluded to. Things will be ok here...and eleswhere...it'll just take time If I don't get to say it before...MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR to each and every one of you! Lets make 08 the year of the new and better forums!!
